Yesterday, his nose bled so profusely that Porsha considered taking him to the hospital.
Today, his head didn't hurt at all. He would've wondered why, but that felt like a bad idea.
Instead, Ochre started his patrols for the evening with a renewed appreciation for his fuku's built in coat, and burrowed in it accordingly. He thought about all the people that found that going outdoors demanded too much energy (and he very nearly counted himself among their kind) and wondered if quotas were more difficult to maintain in the winter months. He figured snow rendered battles more difficult. He started to wonder if starseeds were more enticing to grab because of their warmth on cold hands. He asked himself if it would feel like holding a cup of hot chocolate.
But the Negaverse found very little use for these curiosities, these comparisons. He could dream and wonder and ask himself why on his off time, but not while he was on patrol.
From the vantage point of parapets, Ochre purchased view of the many stragglers navigating their ways home through the intricate grid of streets. He spied a few that kept to public streets only, and others still who chanced alleyway shortcuts to mitigate their exposure outdoors. Either proved usable targets for Ochre, but... He found a certain attraction in defying social norm, in executing a public draining to feed the underlying level of fear that permeated the city.
And if no one was watching? Well, he still filled part of his quota.
Ochre slipped down from his roof ledges and stepped his way down from shop signs to flag poles to awnings. When he touched the ground, he did so quietly. Ahead of him walked a man in his mid-thirties - fit, obviously cold, and not so tired by the evening's trials that he walked without urgency. Ochre emulated his posture and urgency, though he very nearly needed to break into a jog to catch up with his target. And once he closed the distance, noting that he was blessedly only a few inches shorter than the man, the corrupted super clapped a hand over his target's mouth and pressed a hand to his back. Within seconds, the struggles began and an orb started its formation at the palm of his hand.

Finding a balance between being powered and being well...not powered was something of a new challenge. Not so much in the daily activities department, since she obviously needed to just be Olga during the day, but at night she still had to manage her homework. Luckily though, with the holiday season right around the corner, it also meant they were rolling into finals, and soon the semester would be over for winter break.
Maybe it had been a really good time to become powered...plenty of time to figure out the ropes without compromising too much of her not-powered life so far. She'd been watching people from above, kneeling on the edge of a building when she felt the signature. It read as someone not of order, which had the hairs on the back of her neck standing straight up. It also read as being...more powerful than her. Curiosity was a force to be reckoned with though, especially since she knew what the other side could be doing to those powerless to stop them.
Sedna skipped from building building until she drew close enough to pin point the signature. There was a moment of hesitation on her part. As she peered down at the scene below her. Someone was being...drained? She never imagined herself to be the hero---and suddenly being thrust into a position where she could---
Much less somewhere where she could be seen---uuuuuugh---so much for being subtle---She needed to move quick. She remembered what Polaris had said---if she could sense them, then they could sense her too. Jump first, ask questions later! Sedna did just that. She let herself drop down, landing on her feet near the corrupted senshi and his target.
"HEY!" She cried. "Let him go---" She then tried to rush him, her shoulder pointed and ready to go.

Ochre knew the feel of a White Moon senshi from memory. They naturally disgusted him, he thought, but he could train himself to tolerate their presence. He thought he managed that, vaguely, early on in his career. And yet, when he felt this slight little star approach his location, he found her presence all the more distracting for the acrid awareness behind him. Ochre waited, with the man held fast in his grip, until he heard her call out.
Good enough. Ochre spun around abruptly, civilian still in hand, and threw the semi-conscious man into the senshi's path. "I was done with him anyway."
Ochre leapt from sidewalk onto one of the parked cars that lined the area. An Impala it was, its silver hood slightly dented with his landing. There he waited for her and wondered if she still thought to try and fight him. The corrupted senshi knew that he lacked a great deal of fighting prowess, that Xenotime and Umber both could've done far more damage than he at their most basic ranks, but Ochre hoped that he could take this girl.
Besides, at least she looked interesting.
"Go away," Ochre responded as he pocketed the brilliant ąnd ̢b͞e̷a͠ut͢ìf̕ưl͠ orb he pulled from the man, "or I'll take your starseed. You know what that means, right?"

Sedna immediately moved to catch the man, cradling the unconscious body against her as she looked him over quickly. He wasn't moving, he wasn't---Her attention snapped back up to the corrupted, watching him pocket the starseed. Oh no. Oh no.
She propped the man up against the nearby ball as gently as she could muster, and whirled around to face the other on the car. Her raised hands clenched into fists as she briefly wondered if she could take him. She had to try. There was no one she could call to help---and she certainly wasn't going to wait for someone to show up. If this senshi got away from her now---she was certain there was no hope for the unconscious guy behind her. "Sorry, but not sorry, guy! I know exactly what that means---I've been around this block with the Negaverse before!"
Sedna lunged at him, pulling a fist back and getting ready to try and strike.

"At least you're that smart," Ochre muttered offhandedly. He leapt backward from the car and onto the next, this time a late model Honda Acura of sleek black finish. He waited to see if he would catch up, and wondered if, perhaps, he could string her away from the unconscious fellow and into a less public avenue. Maybe he could, since the girl felt a little weaker than he and Ochre wagered that he might be able to kick her a** if she actually got close enough to try anything. After all, if he ******** up in a fight against a basic senshi, then he'd made the Negaverse look even worse than before.
Amphitrite would tell his brother if she found out.
Finally Ochre about faced and leapt to the next car, this time landing in the bed of a Ford F150. "I told you to go away," he called over his shoulder. "I'm not gonna tell you again." But it looked like this one intended against giving up - so Ochre would have to fight her after all. Maybe he could return to the Negaverse with her starseed and buy his way into lukewarm reception. Or maybe he could convert her. How did that happen? He _____//couldn't remember.
Afterward Ochre paused, outstretched one hand, and spoke in conversational tones. "Sheikh's Prayer." Moments later, a small ghost of white energy floated toward the offending senshi.

Range: 8 feet Number of targets: 1 Duration: Variable Number of casts: 3 Ochre extends his palm out and a pentagram forms just beyond his raised hand. It glows, and a spirit-shaped energy curves and swirls out at quick speed in a straight line. Once struck, the enemy experiences mild cold-oriented damage (i.e. light skin abrasions and irritation) along with a sense of doom and cold sweat. Lasts 10 seconds. Can be dodged and interrupted.
If hitting a SENSHI... The senshi incurs no damage and no repercussions from being hit. However, Ochre is afterward allowed to cast one iteration of one of the magic attacks, up to the equivalent to his level. For example, if Sailor Ochre strikes Sailor Iris with his attack, he will only be allowed to cast one iteration of her Iris Rainbow Ribbon attack. His ability to make this one cast lasts for a 20 second window.*

She landed on the car he had previously been on, grimacing a bit as she heard the flex from her weight on the hood. It was a quick and fleeting thought, but she felt bad landing on someone else's property and potentially damaging it. The thought was quickly pushed from her mind though, as she leapt onto the Honda Acura in a weird game of follow the leader.
"That's not going to happen, guy!" She returned, and started to lunge at him again when she noticed his outstretched hand. Oh---nuts---was he casting something? Her eyes went a bit wide at the small energy drift, and it was too late as she pretty much went straight into it. Thrown off by what this could possibly do, Sedna ended up sliding down the windshield of the car---and right off of it. She landed with a loud thud on the pavement, but immediately rolled back up. It didn't seem to do anything but---
No time!
Sedna leapt up onto the back bumper of the Ford F150, and thrust her hand out. "Return the starseed and I'll leave you be and let you go!" She was ready to bounce off the bumper if it looked like he was going to make a grab for hers...

Ochre started to laugh when the senshi practically melted off the hood. He knew he shouldn't, and there was a lingering feeling of un̕e͟a̡s҉e that á̶ng̕l͢è̵̛d̵ ͏̴̀t̛͠ờ̷wa̷r͞d͠͏ ǵ҉ų̢́͝͝ì̸͝ĺ̨t́͘̕͢͏.
[ . . . ]
The thought did not persist.
Instinct flooded him and urged the corrupted senshi to clasp his hands together, to speak words that could not - would not - form in his mind. "The only starseed I have," Ochre paused to reach into his chest - the seconds ticked by, the urgent instincts were slipping - and pulled from it a lone blue starseed, "is this." There it hovered, a jewel just above its index finger. He could not, however, leave it on display, as the magic he wielded ebbed at a frightful pace. Hastily he thrust it back into his chest.
Finally hands clapped together and thrust outward with a calm declaration. "Sedna's Sinking." The words came almost tauntingly form the corrupt's mouth, and soon there formed about him a series of ships.
The corrupt laughed again. "Sucks, doesn't it? I wouldn't want my magic to be used on me, either." Another leap, and he crowned the cabin to the Ford. "Next time, you might want to get your facts straight. What I took was an energy orb, not a starseed." Carefully Ochre removed the precious orb from pocket and held it outward for distant examination. The brilliance was self-evident in how it lit his features, his hand. Energy swam and whirled in its encasement, perpetuating a golden sea. "But if you want his starseed back, I can get that for you."
Shifting gears, Ochre leapt from the truck to the street, his soles striking the pavement almost painfully. The redhead aimed for a wide berth around the senshi with an aim to double back on the fallen man. It wouldn't take much, he knew, to remove the gem.
It wouldn't take much to eat it, either.

"Eh!?" Sedna's eyes widened as she stared at the star seed he produced---his own!? Wait---He didn't have the other guy's!?
Her eyes then went comically wide with even more shock as she heard a rather familiar set of words. There was something incredibly unnerving to see her own magic used against her, and, one perk she guessed, was they now she knew what it felt like when she cast it on others. Her chest and stomach clenched tightly with an unexplained forbidding feeling as she was struck with her spell. On reflex, she clung on tighter to the back of the truck, afraid if she let go (like Jack), then something bad would happen.
"No!" She cried, watching as he took off. Uuuuugh. How long was this spell going to last!? Panic was setting in. She managed to pry herself from the back of the truck, and landed on the pavement with a stumble. "No! Don't!" She repeated again, feeling like she couldn't catch up with him in time. She glanced around, and on the car behind the truck, and ripped one of the windshield wipers from the vehicle and then chucked it at the corrupted senshi. Deciding that maybe that wouldn't be adequate, she grabbed the other one too, and took off after him, swaying as she ran.
She then lobbed the other one at him. "Leave him alone!"

"No? Make up your mind!" Ochre continued toward the man regardless, and even slowed his gait somewhat to draw out the torment. It wasn't that he liked it, but maybe it was something to do, and possibly he could put off ki͘ll҉in͘g͢ s̕o҉m͘e̷o҉n̛e e͢l̷̢͡s҉͝҉̴̴ę̨҉̷̢
Ochre stumbled forward when an object struck his back, and exclaimed more insult than injury. Turning around left him open for a shot to the face, where the rubber edge of the wiper bounced off his cheek and irritated him further. "Should I just take yours instead and call it a night? Because I can do that too!" Rage impeded his concentration, and a handful of seconds passed with him standing there and piecing together the visual information required for a teleport. In a blink, he no longer stood across the street from her and appeared instead behind her and slightly to the right. From there he sought her arm and started preparing further concentration to his hand.
He'd never pulled a starseed before; he wondered if he could even do so now. Lieutenants could, basic corrupts could, and everything in between could - so why couldn't he?
Why should morals have to get in your way?
So he made the effort- he drove hand toward the senshi's chest and hoped that she wouldn't escape.

he can either miss or hit, and if he hits, he won't be able to pull her starseed anyway - up to you!

"NO! NO! NOOO!"
Sedna had never 'no'd so hard in her life. Well...except that one time season one of Outlander had ended on a cliffhanger. Despite the fact she had read the entire book series of Outlander and knew what happened and how it ended.
She continued to run at him, even when he stilled, and when he disappeared she let out a loud gasp. "Wha---" When she felt the sudden appearance of his aura, right behind her none the less, she started. "HOLY CANO---" Probably was a good time to put some of that kick boxing training to use, right?
Out of reflex, Sedna turned, and brought up a leg, aiming to kick him to push him back.

He reached for her, and her foot struck him in the wrist. Immediately Ochre recoiled, and wrapped small fingers around the bone ."<********>, he cursed to himself while the first wave of pain reached his nervous system. "You're such a pain in the a**!" Already he was exhausted of effort; between teleportation and casting some of her own magic, Ochre managed only enough energy for a second teleport. Even that threatened to cost him the rest of the night, as he was uncertain if he could stay up for much longer afterward.
But in staying here, in fighting here, there was no further promise of glory, or starseeds, or energy. "You're not gonna make any friends with the Negaverse if you're always popping up to ******** up their quotas, you know." Hopping backward, Ochre started down a few lengths of cars. A dent, followed by another dent, followed by a large ding appeared with each successive jump. Finally he landed on the last car parallel parked in a row and looked back at her. "They're gonna find out about you, and you're not gonna like what happens to you after that."
Ochre didn't wait for a response; after focusing the last of his energy, the corrupt disappeared altogether - presumably to collapse on a fluffy bed and pass out for the next fifteen hours.
