Anxious Cat

Name: Amaruq White (Pronunciation for the curious, but bastardize it all you want 'cause he won't bother to correct you.)

Nickname: Balto get out

Age: 20

Birthday: November 2nd

Sign: Scorpio

Gemstone: Golden Topaz

Blood Type: B

Fav. Food: Grilled meat, fish, and poultry. Has a particular fondness for cured meats, which he makes himself.

Hated Food: Vegetarian/vegan cuisine. Unfortunately he may become quite prejudiced against you if he finds out you claim either of these titles...

School: Was homeschooled with no plans to attend university.

Hobbies:

Dog Pound // While he used to raise sled dogs back home, he's since had to adapt his passion to city life. He now works at a small no-kill dog shelter. Duties include feeding, cleaning, training, walks, and picking up strays off the street (and occasionally people's property if he feels they're not doing "a good job". Isn't that kind of him?!) Does he sometimes act like he owns the place rather than just works there? Yes. Does he sometimes fantasize about locking the people up behind chain-link instead of the dogs? Always.

Hunter-fisher // Hunting big game and fish was a huge part of Amaruq's life growing up, and he learned everything he knows from the men in his family. Guns were always a no-go (two of his great uncles were accidentally shot and killed on separate excursions), and so he's practiced in spear-hunting and trapping when it comes to game. For fishing, just about anything goes. While city life doesn't offer many chances at either of these activities, Amaruq makes time to take trips out of the city and rope himself a few kills here and there on the weekends.

Meat-curing // Whether it's elk sticks, jerky, or smoked salmon, Amaruq loves meat-curing. If he can't fill his stores with his own supplies, he'll buy the protein from vendors instead (but only the best). While he enjoys eating whatever he makes, he'll sell it if he needs the extra cash.

Virtues:

Goal-oriented // If you give Amaruq a job, you can bet a lot of money that he's not only going to get it done, but he's going to do it right. He's the opposite of half-assed and will follow through with all tasks, however menial. Hunting, butchering, and skinning require a meticulous eye, and that quality crosses over to all areas of his life. It might also be a good idea to keep in mind that just because he's doing a job you assigned him to doesn't mean he's overjoyed about it...

Strategist // Just like he has to plan the proper strategies and techniques to use while hunting or fishing, Amaruq comes up with strategies for everyday situations almost automatically. If one strategy goes wrong, he can adjust to a new one. Figuring out the best way to go about something is ingrained in his mind, and the process happens quickly--dangerously so in the case of his prey. That said, you probably shouldn't take that to mean you should trust Amaruq with relationship advice or the like...

Leader // Ever heard someone say, "Be a leader, not a follower"? Amaruq does just that. This should not be taken to mean that Amaruq rebels at every sign of authority. What it does mean is that he has the tendency to be the first to act. i.e., if a stray is being bullied by some school brats, you can bet Amaruq is gonna rush them with no hesitation. It also means that he's blind to peer pressure, so it might not be a good idea to try to manipulate him...

Flaws:

Anger Management // What, you want him to count to 10 and catch his breath? How about you go f**k yourself instead? Amaruq never attempts to control his anger, and there is a lot of it to go around. A civil disagreement about the right way to hold a knife could easily turn into a tirade with Amaruq at the raging end. If this leaves the other party in tears, leads to a brawl, or just awkward silence, it doesn't matter to him since he was probably justified in his opinion--the correct opinion.

Sour Apple // Amaruq is not very well-practiced in putting on his...friendly face. Or voice. It's difficult to decipher when he's actually in a bad mood since he generally seems tense 24/7, and is quick to snap a response with no regard to proper tone. The result is a man who others just aren't sure how to please or appease. And maybe they don't even want to in the first place since he seems like such a sour apple...

Emotionally Detached // While others make fast friends, Amaruq does not. It takes him a very long time to build trust with someone, and it doesn't happen often (and even when it does, he often continues looking for an excuse not to trust the other party). He largely prefers the company of his dogs or other animals, with human companionship falling somewhere near the bottom of his wish list. He's not incapable of making ties and feeling loyalty, but to most people Amaruq is emotionally unattached in every capacity. What's that? A school girl trapped in a burning building?! ...Tough luck.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Hair: White undercut top knot with bangs.

Clothes: Beat-up jeans, beat-up boots, whatever shirt's lying around...

Sphere: Therianthropy

Senshi: Wulfenite, Corrupted Senshi of Therianthropy (AKA Corrupted Sailor Lupo*)

Challenge: "My bite's way worse than my bark!"
"I'm gonna give you somethin' to howl about!"

Attacks:

Sailor Scout Attack: Werewolf Bite
With a throw of his arm an the utterance of his attack name, a set of monstrous wolf jaws manifests and "bites" the target. There may be a few mild perceived physical symptoms of the bite, but these are psychological (see: phobia symptoms). Most importantly, the bite arouses an underlying fear that the target may turn into a wolf/werewolf as a result of the bite. Depending on the tolerance level of the target, the fear can be quite distracting. Exact symptoms vary depending on the target. The effects may last up to 30 seconds. The attack can hit a target only as far as 6ft away and can be used three times per battle with a 60 second cool-down between uses.

Super Sailor Scout Attack: Wolfsbane
With a throw of his arm an the utterance of his attack name, the set of jaws now belongs to an apparition of a monstrous, savage wolf who rushes the target and "bites" them. The perceived physical symptoms of the bite are now worse than before, as well as accelerated (see: phobia symptoms, and can also be likened to hypochondria, with target considering if the nausea they are feeling is related to the bite and the possibility of becoming a wolf/werewolf, when perhaps they simply had too much to eat for lunch). The phobia is intensified, becoming more distracting and overwhelming than before, and may be extremely debilitating to some. This attack can only hit targets up to 6 feet away. Targets within a 3ft radius may feel intense fear at the sight of the wolf apparition regardless of whether or not they've been "bitten", and it may be extreme enough to cause some targets to flee (note: anyone who sees the apparition can exhibit any amount of fear/unease the player wishes). Exact symptoms and fear levels vary depending on the target, and effects can last up to 30 seconds. This attack can be used 3 times per battle, with a 90 second cool-down between uses.

Eternal Sailor Attack: Moonshift
After Wulfenite makes eye contact with the target and utters his attack, the target begins to perceive that they are turning into a wolf/werewolf. However the change manifests is up to the player (i.e. if they see themselves turning into an actual wolf, a monstrous version of a wolf, or some kind of werewolf, etc.). The effects are psychologically horrifying to the target, but any physical perceived symptoms are all in the mind, as well as related to all of the symptoms associated with phobias. The target perceives that their limbs are twisting as bones break and re-shape, skin rips, nails crack into claws, fangs burst through gums, and so on. The "form" the target takes on is completely dependent on what the target's image of the outcome is (i.e. type of wolf or werewolf, as mentioned previously). The fear associated with this attack can cause debilitating fear and spiraling panic, and may be extreme enough to cause some to flee. The exact effects can vary depending on the target. The duration of the attack is somewhere around 40 seconds, and wears off once the target has fully completed their "transformation". Those witnessing the attack do not perceive any changes in the affected target, as it is simply an illusion within the affected target's mind. This attack can be used twice per battle and has a cool-down of 90 seconds.

*Was corrupted before he awakened as a senshi.

Hey, Eskimo!

I think you have a really neat idea for this character and I'm excited to work with you to get him stamped! Everything looks good to me, though the sphere you have chosen might not be entirely valid; we usually try to avoid spheres that focus on a specific phobia, and Lycanthrophobia seems more like a fictional phobia than a scientifically documented one. However! I took the time to do some additional research and want to propose a few alternate spheres to see if you might be interested? With some of these you wouldn’t even have to change the attacks!

Therianthropy—the ability for a human to metamorphose into an animal (the most common form being that of werewolves)

Rougarou—Another creature that turns from man to a wolf monster, though one myth says that to turn another into a Rougarou all you have to do is lock eyes with them.

Pricolici—this one is a bit different but is essentially a Romanian monster considered to be a type vampire/werewolf hybrid; generally a malicious undead man (or a werewolf who has returned from the dead as more of a vampire), he returns in the form of a wolf creature to continue harming others.

There are a few other werewolf-like creatures (like the Haitian Jé-rouge—a spirit like a werewolf that has vampiric qualities and is capable of possessing people to transform them into "cannibalistic lupine creatures".

If any of those appeal to you, I think all you need to do is a sphere change (with little to no changes needing to be required to fit the sphere!). Please give me a quote if you have any questions, comments or make any changes and I'll be back as soon as possible!

HEY, THERE! Thank you so much for helping me out with this, I really appreciate it. <33
And sorry it took me a little while to get back to you, I was just reading up on everything and contemplating.

Therianthropy seems like the perfect sphere, way better than anything I'd conceptualized thus far. LMFAO

So if I were to switch his sphere to that, how would you recommend I change his attacks (I know you said little to no changes,
but maybe I should tweak them a bit)? Maybe make them less phobia-based? And would you say I should keep the werewolf aspects,
or change it more to just wolves? If that makes sense. Feel free to offer as much feedback or as many suggestions as you want, I'd love it. THANKS AGAIN. <3333

Hey, Eskimo!

Thanks for your patience and I'm sorry about the delay! I was thinking about possible changes to attacks, and I think if you wanted to remove the werewolf aspect to make sure there was no overlap with other spheres, you could change the wording to just be more reflective of some hideous beast? Rather than specifically a werewolf it could be any wild beast or creature their mind conjures (possibly making the transformation more horrifying since it might reflect more their internal fears than just impose a fear of werewolves for the duration of the attack?). Otherwise, I think it would still be fine to keep the phobia aspect since that is a reasonable side effect to thinking you are metamorphosing into some scary monster!

Kyuseisha no Hikari

OKAY, made some slight alterations in wording to his powers so it's not completely werewolf-focused!

Before I call him completely ready for approval, can I ask if there's a reason to have his sphere be Therianthropy instead of Shapeshifting?

Shapeshifting could still be used if you preferred that! I suggested Therianthropy because it is specifically shapeshifting from animal to human and vice versa (and werewolves are the most common, so I thought it was closest to the theme you were going with) but if you would prefer the sphere to be shapeshifting you can change the profile to reflect that and I can drop a stamp!

OK, that makes sense after thinking about it, HAHA. Therianthropy it is.

So everything should be ready now! THANK YOU!
