Crims loved it whenever he got permission to leave Saturn. A privileged that came with squiredom, the knight in training took advantage of it whenever the opportunity presented itself. So, when he heard that a group of knights were making a trip to Thrymr, well, he jumped at the chance to go. Literally.

And if it meant that he got to see the moon's senshi, well it was all the more reason to go.

Crims slipped away from his fellow knights the minute their ship landed. It wasn't anything particularly personal, but he spend almost 24/7 around them, if he had the chance to not be around them, then he was definitely going to do it. Besides, it was easier for him to scope out Thrymr when he was on his own, not traveling in a pack.

He liked Thrymr because the warm welcoming nature of it's people was something he wasn't very familiar with. He'd grown up with a harsh father who isolated him from his family when he six. The knights of Saturn weren't hostile, but they weren't as friendly as the people of Thrymr.

He let his feet lead him to his destination, the high sanctum.

It had been some time since there had been visitors to Thrymr. There had been a temporary stalling of trade while the fields had been tended to properly, and now that it was reopened once more, a veritable plethora of people seemed to be coming in and out of it, especially recently. Most of these entourages consisted of merchants, some were political envoys, and some were merely people wishing to spend time on the lush, tropical beaches the planet was most famous for.

Thrymr, the person, mostly stayed clear of such things, unless required to be there. But those of the court were quite capable of handling things - it was why they were part of the court in general, and it left Thrymr free to do other things, like greeting guests or spending time with the people or performing the various ceremonies the planet performed.

They were not aware that there were any visitors scheduled. Thrymr stood in the high sanctum, absently running fingers through long, white hair as a braid began to form. A gentle whisper and a soft notification, accompanied by the sound of footsteps down below, however, had them turning, looking curiously over the side.

A warm smile spread across Thrymr's pale face.

"Crims," they said delightedly. "How wonderful to see you. Please do come up!"

Crims liked it when he found exactly what he's looking for without trying, so when Thyrmr greeted him happily, he couldn't help but grin broadly, bounding up to meet his friend. "Thrymr!" He chirped, swinging up to join them.

"Do you want help with your braid? I'm a bit out of practice, but my sister's used to make me braid their hair from time to time," he offered, gesturing to their pretty, white hair. It wasn't something he'd admit to his fellow knights, but he was comfortable enough around the senshi that he had no issues.

Besides, reminding himself of the sisters he'd been barred from seeing once they discovered his knighthood was often to painful.

But there were few things to be sad about when on the beautiful moon.

"How are you, how are things? The trade?" He asked. He'd been required to be knowledgable about the planets the knights visited, so he tried to keep up on the moons of Saturn since they were so close.

The few guards milling about the bottom of the sanctum knew well enough to stand aside to let Crims pass without any sort of incident, nodding at him as he darted up the stairs. Thrymr's guests were numerous, but few were well known enough to be allowed up at once, instead of being presented to him officially, as was the norm.

Thrymr's smile was beaming, and he leaned over to press a brief, chaste kiss of greeting to Crims' cheek. Still in the process of getting ready for the day, there was paint dabbed over the light eyes, and dotted beneath, Thrymr already dressed in draping robes of sunset colors.

"A pleasure to see you again," they said, quite pleased, and stepped over to sit on a low stool that stood in front of a mirror. "And yes, if you would not mind helping, I'd be quite grateful. There's just a great deal of hair, and my arms are simply not long enough.

Nimble fingers twisted off the end of the braid they'd already started, and a smile was on Thrymr's face.

"I am well," they said with a laugh. "As for the trade, well...we're still lacking in certain things, I wish we could get more fruit here from other worlds, we seem to be running low ourselves. How are your and yours? Faring well, I should hope?"

Casual affection wasn't something Crims was very good at, but he accepted the chaste cheek kiss with all the grace he could muster. He followed them to the stool, settling behind them easily. He wasted no time with gathering up the loose hair and combing his fingers through it. He looked at the long, white locks with careful consideration, gaze flickering to Thrymr's reflection.

"Do you want it braided in the usual fashion I see you with, or am I free to do whatever?" He had a few ideas of what he could do. "I guess I should also clarify if you want all of it one braid too." He arched a brow at their reflections and then dropped his attention to removing tangles as gently as possible.

"We don't get to make many trips off of Saturn, but the next time we go somewhere with bountiful fruit, I'm definitely bringing some back for you." Crims liked to treat his friends when he could. "Training's brutal, but I'm alive," he replied, shrugging. "Haven't heard anything from my family back on Earth, but." He quieted. "I'm sure they're doing well."

They knew, subconsciously, that not all were as comfortable with physical affection as say, Methone or Aegir were. But at the same time, Thrymr was simply so used to giving into their impulses to show that affection that it had become second nature to them; a long ingrained method of communication.

But Crims, at the very least, accepted it with grace, even if he wasn't as familiar with it. Thrymr smiled at him in the reflection of the mirror, expression pleased.

"You are free to do as you wish," said Thrymr, and smoothed a hand through their own long locks, fingers trailing away at the ends. "I trust your judgement quite well enough by now, and I'm sure you will do me a great pleasure with whatever it is that you do."

Their eyes crinkled at the corners as the smile deepened.

"I would very much appreciate that, Crims, thank you," they said. "I would give you something in return, of course, for your kindness."

Thrymr hummed for a moment, expression softening.

"Do you have family here, though?" they asked, brows drawing in concern. "And I'm very glad you're alive, just for the record."

Once given the go-ahead, Crims let his fingers go at it. He parted Thrymr's hair in a heavy side part, before gathering a section of hair near the temple and separating it into three strands. "If you end up not liking it, well I'll try something else," he promised, lips quirked up in a grin as he concentrated in threading each section over each other, adding strands of hair carefully as he threaded over and under. As the french braid started to reach their collarbone, he shifted all of the sections into one and gathered the rest of the hair their other ear and switched the method of braiding.

"Your company is more than enough," he mumbled, brushing Thrymr's offer aside.

It wasn't like he was allowed to keep too much with him in the barracks.

"No, I don't have family here, unless I suppose you count my friends as my family," he frowned slightly, readjusting his hands on the thick hair as he fishtailed down. "Then, I suppose, I have you." His bright, hazel eyes flicked over to the mirror to gauge the senshi's reaction. His friends were as close to a family as he had, that was true.

"The rest of my family is back on Earth, I see my father from time to time," he didn't sound entirely thrilled about that. He hated when Samuel would visit. "But I haven't seen my sisters or my mother since I was very little." Since they discovered he'd inherited Crims. "What about you? I remember you chattering about some people? Forgive me, I've forgotten their names."

Whatever Crims was doing, it was clear he was experienced. The way his hands moved was instinctive, lacking hesitation, and Thrymr's pleased expression could be seen in the mirror as they watched their friend work.

"I'm sure whatever it is will come out lovely," said Thrymr, smoothing their fingers through the remaining pale locks. "I thought of dying it, you know. But I have to color it anyway for some of the ceremonies, and those are often enough that it would be such a hassle to maintain, so white it stays."

They had not missed the way that Crims had not quite denied the offer, but not quite accepted it either. Thrymr's smile softened a little, a hand absently curling over one of the glittering bracelets on their slender wrist.

"I think of you as family," they said grandly. "That's what friends are, at least the ones that I am close to. And this looks wonderful," was the added, breathed out reply, Thrymr's cheeks pinking with utter pleasure as they touched the braid. It was simple, yet intricate in a way that spoke of elegance.

"I don't have any blood relatives here, either," said Thrymr ruefully, a softness to their voice. "Nor any parents or siblings - I do not recall ever having any, as I was left alone as a child. I sometimes wish I did, it would be...nice knowing that there are more out there than myself."

And then a beaming, bright expression overtook their pale face, Thrymr quite unable to maintain the usual soft, demure countenance worn for everyone else. "Ah, yes - they are not blood related, except for Mont Blonc, he is my cousin, but Methone and Aegir are my nearest and dearest of friends, they are as close to me as family as I could possibly wish for."

Their eyes rose, shining with pleasure. "If you should ever wish to meet any of them, I would be glad to do so."

"It's a lovely color as is," Crims replied, knowing that technically white was the absence of color, "not many can pull it off the way you do."

His fingers twisted the final point of the braid, tying it off loosely with thicker strands of hair before fishing a tie from his pocket and looping it around the locks. "I'm glad you like it," he mumbled, humbled by the praise from his friend. "I think of you as family too. I suppose that, when it counts, friends are more family than blood relatives."

His friends were incredibly important to him. Crims knew that he would go to hell and back for the people that mattered to him.

"Knowing who your parents are, that you have siblings, isn't always a good thing," he commented, expression darkening. "What good is it to know who they are if you cannot see them?" To say that he was bitter about the way his father cut him off from the rest of his family was an understatement.

"But I digress, that is neither here nor there." He grinned broadly at Thrymr, all traces of darkness gone. "I have not met Methone or Aegir, I believe I know Mont Blonc," he pursed his lips together, brow scrunching in consideration. "He's a knight of Saturn is he not?"

The name Mont Blanc had a certain weight to it, triggered a bit of memory. "I would love to meet any of them, if they were interested. Friends of yours are friends of mine."

The compliments were received with a certain amount of pleasure on Thrymr's side, because Crims spoke with such quiet appreciation that it sounded as though it was simple second nature. He was given a look of affection in the mirror, Thrymr's cheeks still flushed with happiness, a look that only increased with Crims' continued speech.

I think of you as family too. The words made Thrymr's heart swell, and were it not for the fact that Crims was still attempting to fix their hair, they would have turned around and pulled him into an embrace - though admittedly, there was an attempt at being respectful of other people's space. Not all were as comfortable with Thrymr's tendency towards physical affection as Mont Blonc, Methone, and Aegir were, after all.

"It isn't blood that matters to me, but bond," said Thrymr truthfully. "And you and I have a bond, however small or large, I like to think. Hence why we are family, in our own way," they added, eyes twinkling with pleasure. "You mean a great deal to me, Crims, and I am quite glad to know you."

They caught sight, however, of the shift in their friend's face - no longer the happy, slightly bashful one quietly accepting praise, but one of something else, darker. Thrymr turned their head curiously, but Crims had already moved on, and the chance to speak on the subject of blood relations seemed to have slipped away.

"Mont Blonc is a knight of Saturn, yes," said Thrymr, sounding pleased. "Methone and Aegir are not knights, but they are quite delightful in all the ways that I can think. And since you have said that, about friends of mine being friends of yours, I should point out that it works the other way too."

Thrymr glossed fingers over the white strands of their hair. "Friends of yours are friends of mine."

Crims smiled softly at Thyrmr, redness creeping up neck and tinging his ears in a happy embarrassment. "You mean a great deal to me too," he admitted, taking a moment to look at his friend through the mirror to appreciate both the person and the work he'd done on the braid. He'd have to learn a new braid to try when he next visited. "I do not keep many close, but I like to think I keep you close." Closer than most of the other people he knew and accepted as friends.

He hadn't made many friends since the academy and those he had, were not of Saturn so he saw them rarely. One of them was particularly hard to visit, as she was hardly on her homeworld and he was, admittedly, ill-equipped to handle the Iridian heat.

Thyrmr was much easier, because of it's close proximity to Saturn.

"The names sound familiar, perhaps I've heard Mont Blonc mention them in passing." He pursed his lips together, searching his memory banks for anything else that might've been attached to the names. "Maybe we've visited their homes and I just missed them." He shrugged, hands finding their way into his pockets. "If any of them are ever on Thrymr the same time we are, then I would be happy to introduce you," he smiled fondly at the thought of Iris. "Unfortunately, they travel often and I tend to find them only by chance or when they're on Saturn."

His shoulders sagged slightly, but with a sharp intake of air Crims was the happier version of himself that he preferred around the senshi. "That's why I insist on any joining any envoys that travel here."

The redness that was on Crims' face was endearing, and Thrymr watched it appreciatively, pleased that such a reaction was allowed of the knight at all. Crims had not always been so open with them, and Thrymr appreciated it now, more than ever, the fact that they were friends.

"You may keep me as close as you like, I am glad of it," said Thrymr as they stood and turned to face Crims, daring to reach out and brush fingertips ever so lightly against the other's cheek; the barest of touches, just an indication of the meaning of both of their words. "I am grateful for your continued existence in this world, Crims."

They would have to dress in the ceremonial clothes for the evening's festivities eventually, but Thrymr was deliberately dawdling, and saw no reason to rush as their fingers dropped away. "I would be glad to meet anyone of your acquaintance, and the same offer goes for you."

Pale blue eyes had not missed the sag of Crims' shoulder. Thrymr hesitated a moment, and then asked softly, "Are you not happy, dear friend?"

Crims leaned his face into the light touch instinctively, a soft comfort from someone he trusted. He didn't do much in terms of casual affection or touching in general, Samuel had always been one to think affection was unnecessary, but in moments like this, it felt right.

"I'll probably keep you rather close then, of course it depends on how close you'd like to be kept," he dared to tease. "I hope I'll be able to stick around for some time, even if I'm not able to visit as frequently as we'd like." It was the tragedy of his knighthood, the inability to travel as he pleased.

It was times like these that he wished he could be one of Cosmos's, free to roam as desired.

He frowned at their question, lips pressing into a thin line as he shirked backwards as though he was ashamed. "I am not unhappy," he replied carefully. "I am perhaps weary but not unhappy."

Thrymr could not help the mischievous smile that crept across their face, eyes dancing with a mixture of amusement and affection.

"As close as you'll have me, good sir," they said lightly, playfully, and for just the briefest moment, the slender fingers touched a little more securely against Crims' face. But then the expression on Thrymr's pale face softened, smile easing quieter, and they withdrew, a hand going to one of the many bangles around their wrists and twisting them absently.

"You are welcome anytime, even without notice," said Thrymr, eyes holding onto Crims' gaze for a beat longer before they turned their head, a stray strand of hair falling across their forehead. Crims was such a good deal taller than him - why was it that all of Thrymr's closest friends seemed to be so imposing?

Not that he minded. It was nice to feel secure, after all. Thrymr turned back to Crims, catching the frown.

"I'm sorry," they said quickly, a distressed looking coming across their face. "Forgive me, Crims, I did not mean to imply anything, it's just..."

A slight smile tugged at their lips. "I worry for you, is all. I wish for your happiness."

"Now doesn't that put is in a pickle?" Crims teased, looking down at his friend fondly. He watched, a bit perplexingly, as Thrymr pulled back to play with his jewelry. "If you ever get a chance to visit Crims, I'd love to show you the castle," he offered softly reaching out to gently wrap his fingers around their wrist.

"Might be a nice change in pace, though Thrymr is more beautiful than my wonder." And the knight thought that, because there were gorgeous beaches and beautiful people on Thrymr where his castle was filled with soldiers in training, preparing for the day war struck of Saturn rose.

A much drearier existence.

He reached out to brush the stray hair back but hesitated, then dropped his hand the notion discarded.

"Don't apologize, I know you mean well," he smiled softly, a bit sadly. "I am just not...good at expressing my emotions or my discontent in a constructive manner." He fiddled with the cuffs of his uniform, having retreated back into himself. "Knighthood has afforded me many opportunities, but it has also taken many away from me."

Crims sighed, carding fingers through his messy locks. "I am grateful for it, because it means that I met you but sometimes I wish I were not bound to my wonder and the responsibilities that come with it. That's all." He shrugged, tried to put on a happier face before his friend. "I have happier times, when I'm in your company and a few select others, but I'm not unhappy."

He didn't admit that some days he struggled with just being content with his life. He knew the universe had more to offer him than his post did, but he couldn't leave. Not yet.

Besides, what would that mean for his friends that were so closely tied to Saturn. Could he leave them behind if he abandoned his post?

He didn't know.
