Personality: Generally coming across as nonchalant and smug, there is more to him than a simple first impression. He has a multifaceted personality that is difficult to pin down, and he uses that to its utmost advantage. He more than often speaks in a cheerful manner, with intimidating and mocking undertones that can get under the skin of the people around him. He is able to remain calm even in the tensest of battles and situation, a testament to his already vast experience and confidence in his own abilities.
Despite his blasé exterior he is extremely cunning and intelligent, he is constantly analyzing his surroundings and people around him. One could say he is looking for weaknesses and footholds to gain, but that isn’t necessarily the case. Although he appears to be more of an antagonist it’s mostly because of his tone, which for the most part seems to be in a mocking tone, and because of his seemingly uncaring attitude he comes off as being much more childish and rash than he actually is.
He takes training Pokemon very seriously, and keeps his Pokemon and himself on a rigorous training schedule. He remains very strict to this schedule and sees breaking a training schedule as a sign of weakness of will and finds it hard to respect trainers who can’t keep a routine, or have a more lax approach to training. Alongside physical and technical training, which he does alongside his Pokemon, he also spends time finding out the best way to bring out the best in his team through strategizing and getting to know their strengths and weaknesses. To Daichi, his Pokemon are an extension and reflection of himself, and if they aren’t at their peak, at their best, then neither is he.
History: Born in Celestic Town to a pair of skilled Pokemon trainers his future as a trainer started off with a strong foothold. His father, Imazawa, was a repeat Pokemon League contestant in various regions, as well as in a few further away and lesser known regions. His mother, Breeanne, was a teacher of young trainers, although a trainer herself she was more of a tutor and mentor to many trainers who would go on to challenge various Pokemon leagues. As his father grew older and the pair began to settle down his aspirations of becoming a champion began to wane as he focused on his family, he is still a revered veteran trainer and his name is known throughout the land.
As a child he spent time travelling with his parents, absorbing information about Pokemon and battling along the way. His exposure to Pokemon battling early on showed his pedigree and natural talent at an early age. With his parents entering him in junior tournaments during their travels he participated and won many Jr Cups and was exposed to battling as far back as he can remember. He showed good decision making skills as well as good choice of his Pokemon, and it was appearing that the youngster had a promising future.
As he grew more into himself and entered his teenage years his ability and skills began to come forth. He showed a clear pension for strategy and tactics when it came to Pokemon, he was able to make quick and skillful based on types, skills, moves and things of the like. But perhaps his greatest trait began to shine forth, his intellect. His win percentage grew as he grew older and eventually outgrew the Jr league that his parents had him compete in. However with the trio moving around so much it was difficult for him to set out on his own, but when he reached his teens he determined that he would set out much to the chagrin of his parents, who all but disowned him following his departure from their side. Bored of the stale lifestyle of watching his parents fight washed up opponents and training youngsters he decided that it was time to really challenge himself, forfeiting all previously held Pokemon to begin a journey of his own, free from his parent’s shadow.
