The fallen smiled back at their teacher and stood up. His earwings fluttered softly as he cleared his throat and answered, "My favorite number is Number One because it's the first number and the easiest to remember." It may not have been the deepest or most serious reason but it was the truth. At least for Charmstar.

The chimera froze at hearing they were going to take a test. She was doomed and it showed.

Verve groaned at her mark. This was a lot harder than she expected it would be. Probably because she spent more time goofing off than actually studying.

She was making a fool of herself, which would have been fine for the chimera, really it would. It's not like she was putting undue pressure on herself. A quick reminder that she was here for fun and to enjoy herself, Verve calmed down and managed to focus. In fact, she did a lot better than her first two attempts combined.

Pepper waited til the fallen had finished speaking and then she piped up. "My favorite number is two, because two is better than one. Well. . it's less lonely than one is anyway." That was a good reason to like two right? Pepper hoped that was what the teacher had wanted.

Kanda's ears flattened when the teacher said he wanted them to say what their favorite number was. It wasn't that she didn't have one, it was just that not many of her classmates would understand her. . . Quietly, she waved to the teacher, hoping they would notice her. She held up three fingers. "Because then there's two parents and a baby," she signed, hoping the teacher knew sign. If he didn't, she'd have to write it down.

A quiz? Oh no. Maeva hadn't been prepared for a quiz today. Hopefully she had really learned her stuff and would be able to do her best. Putting her pencil to paper, she was surprised to see how much she had actually learned so far. There were some things she didn't know, but that was to be expected. When she finished her quiz, she was reasonably sure she'd done a good job and couldn't wait to see what she'd gotten.

Quiz? Okay, she had this. Elliah had been studying on and off for this purpose. She had just known one of her teachers was going to try and pull a fast one with a surprise quiz. Hopefully, she'd studied enough and this would be a breeze.
As she glanced through the test the teacher handed out, her face fell. Nothing she had studied was on this test. Maybe if she just stared at it long enough it would make sense?

Okay, just breath. She could do this. She was smart. Elliah leaned back in her chair and wracked her brain to see if she could figure out how to do these problems. Nothing came to her, and she bit back a groan of frustration.

Maybe she should just. . peek at someone else's test? Oh, but if she got caught she would get detention. Elliah chewed on her lip and thought about it. She didn't want to fail this.
After five minutes of blankly staring at her paper, she steeled herself to try and see if she could figure out something from one of her classmates papers. Glancing stealthily over at the nightmare next to her's page, she noticed how they had done the problem. Quickly copying down the equation they used, she tried to use it for the rest of the problems too, hoping that was the right one. Hopefully the teacher hadn't noticed her glances.
nepsah Feel free to have the teacher totally catch her >D

Malachi sat, wriggling in his chair as he listened to Mr. Judas spoke. He didn't seem to have much to say, but the assignment he gave was almost puzzling. Saying one's 'favorite number' was the task at hand, and surprisingly something Malachi hadn't really gave much thought to before this moment in time. Placing his elbows on the desk in front of him, he pondered such a thing. Reciting the numbers one through ten in his head as he thought about how they all work together and look. hmmmm... Then it was his turn. "I like the zero... it seems like a well-rounded number all the way about." In his head he was thinking about it being used and useful in many different way... he honestly didn't realize what he was saying was punny until he heard Hailey giggling next to him. Groan.

Hailey sat there, giggling at her poor best friend's expense. She couldn't seem to help herself when he did that unintentional pun thing he did at times. Then she realized it was her turn! Crap! Shooting up out of her seat, she blurted out "I like the number eight! It's great and you can use it to make funny little doodles with it~" and she proudly held up a doodle she made while her classmates were talking of a silly little eight critter before smirking and sitting down.
