** Backdated to October 12th Salem had adjusted easily to having a second person in his house. Especially given the circumstances in which brought that person too him. Caer had taken a little bit to get use to things. He had gotten sick the first few day's after his corruption but after a week, the young man seemed to act as if nothing happened.
If Salem had been expecting some sort of freak out, it never showed. Nor did Caer give him one. The lighter haired man moved about the place as if he'd been there all his life, even if he still hadn't mastered the lay out of the kitchen. Oh well.
So now here he was, one hand clamped over Caer's eyes and glasses, the other tangled in the man's fingers as he carefully led him towards the back door. He knew that the other man had closed his eyes when he had been told, but still. He wasn't taking any chances. "No peeking." Salem deadpanned as he removed his hand from Caer's, earning him a semi startled noise, so that he could open the door to the back yard.
"Watch your step. Don't trip." Salem guided Caer carefully through the door, on to and off of the small deck they had and gently tugged him forward. It was getting a bit cooler outside, so Salem had not so gently urged the other man to put on a heavy sweater. While Caer was only a few inches shorter then him, his hoodies still seemed to engulf Caer. Again he let go of Caer's hand, but this time he trailed his hand up the other man's arm as he moved to stand behind him. "Ready??" He asked, finally taking his hand off Caer's glasses. "You can look now."

Caer was definitely still settling in as Salem's roommate - and, well, as Caerwyn at all. With all of his memory gone, he had so little to work from that he was mostly just making it up as he went. And Salem had been wonderful for that, treating him gently and sweetly, letting him settle in. Letting him become himself.
And now Salem had promised him a surprise, something special for the two of them - something in their backyard. He had been good, kept his eyes close,d waited until Salem told him he could look.
And what he saw made him make a bright noise of delight. It was a little garden, with a pond and flowers and everything.
"Oh, my god, Salem, this is amazing! Did you do all this?" He asked, eyes wide and shining. He spun around, leaned in, planted his lips on Salem's for a long moment.

When Caer made a noise of delight, Salem relaxed. He laughed against the kiss as Caer spun around. Salem's arm coiled around the other man's waist and he held him close.
"I've been working on this for months... I started it soon after I was brought here. Some flowers, a few trees... It's not much. Though there's a garden with fruits, vegetables and herbs." He mumbled. "It's getting to cold to plant anything else, though there are a few things that will bloom." Salem led him over, letting Caer squeal and gush over the flowers. "I don't know if you're allergic to anything in here, so just be careful if you touch anything."
"It will look better in the spring, as things start to branch out and grow. Right now I don't have anything in the pond, but if you want, we can maybe do some research and maybe you can put some fish or something into the pond." It wasn't much to replace the lake and wonder he had lost, but at least it was something."
"I call it 'Lake Rannoch'." He said, gesturing to the pond system.

Caer couldn't stop his giggles of delight. It was so sweet, so charming of Salem to do this for him - to make a place that was theirs, even if it was the end of the growing season and they would have to start it all again in the spring.
"It's amazing. Perfect, really." He said, and he disentangled from Caer to kneel carefully among the plants, fingers running delicately over leaves and flowers. "I don't think I'm allergic to anything?" He said, tilting his head to the side and considering. "I mean, I'm sure the Negaverse can get me to a doctor to figure it out if I am, right?" He shrugged his shoulders, clearly more interested n the garden than in anything else.
"We can do all sorts of things with this," he mused. But the name of the lake made his eyes widen, and he turned to the taller man. "After..me?" He asked, his voice soft.

"It gave me something to do in the beginning. I didn't expect for it to be a continued activity but it became that way. A few things were already here, so I just expanded on it." Salem shrugged lightly towards the tall trees towards the back of the yard, where he'd placed a small seating area. "I don't know if I liked this sort of thing before it all happened, so I had no idea what I was doing in the beginning."
Salem hummed in agreement quietly, following Caer's foot steeps, only to run his finger tips through seafoam hair, despite it's fancy updo. "We can always take out whatever you're allergic to, if you do have allergies." His lips twitched as he watched Caer's astonished awe at the who thing, even more so at the name. "After you..." He said softly. "I told you we belonged together... 'Caledonia' and 'Rannoch'... And now we are. And we have our own little Garden of Eden." He murmured, tipping the man's chin up to steal another kiss.

Caer nodded, glancing over to where Salem gestured and smiling at the bench. "That's sweet," he said. "I'm glad you found something to make you happy, here." Because he certainly had. Or, rather, he hadn't found something,, he'd found someone. And some things with that someone.
He felt a tiny shiver crawl up his spine when Salem's fingers ran through his hair - it always did that to him, when the other man touched him at all, really. "Hopefully whatever made me sick was just a one-off," he said, standing up. There was a tiny smile on his face, and he leaned back against Cale, reaching up to run fingers through his hair.
"We've always belonged together," he agreed, softly. "Eden..." The name felt familiar, but only distantly. "This is our little slice of paradise, for certain."

"We can expand on it more in the spring. More hands means we can cover more ground." He hummed again, quietly this time as Caer mentioned being happy. Could he call this happy? He was happier now, sure. Now that Rannoch was where he belonged, with him. "It is... better, now that you're here Caerwyn. 'Mine."
Salem's arm once again wrapped around the other man, anchoring Caer in place. "It may have just been a result of the corruption. I didn't feel well the first few days either." Though he hadn't been anywhere near as lethargic or sick as Caerwyn had been. "Though, I would rather you not get like that again, so best be careful in the mean time."
"Nothing will separate us..." Not this time anyway. "Eden..." He echoed quietly. It seemed Caer did not remember her, like he had. Oh well. Their paths would cross soon enough. It was no big deal. "It's a garden. You should read up on it. I think you would enjoy it."

Caer nodded, hand moving to gently cup Salem's chin. "I'm glad I have you, Salem. I would have hated to do this all alone." That he was only corrupted because of Salem was a detail he was all too happy to pass over. Clearly Salem had always known this was the better choice for him. He was happy, after all, and he had made Salem happy.
Discussions about his health made him frown briefly, but he shrugged it off. "I'm sure it was nothing. I'm better now, right? And I haven't been sick since."
He nodded, a little, and then disentangled from Salem. "Let's go see those benches, under the trees."

"I wouldn't have left you alone. Even if Laurelite had assigned you to another. I would have been there." Salem was grateful that Laurelite had given him the opportunity to take charge and watch over Caer's growth within the Negaverse. He would not let her, or Caerwyn down.
Salem hummed quietly. "Probably cause you've buried yourself in my clothes and nearly every blanket in the house..." He mused, grabbing at Caer's hand before the shorter man could fully disentangle from him. "Hmm? And what do you want to see the benches for?" Salem asked curiously, tone to his voice. Playful, with a slight mix of something else. A smirk grew across his face slowly, mulling over Caer's possible thoughts. "They're probably cold... You don't like the cold.."

Caer smiled fondly. "I believe you," he said, and there was no waver in his voice. Of course Salem would be there - Salem was always there.
He glanced down at his hand, in Salem's, and then his eyes drifted back to the taller man's face. "Well, of course they're cold," he said, "that's why I asked you to come with me." His grin was slightly wicked, and he started drawing Salem towards the benches. "I'm sure you'll keep me warm."

"You better." Salem murmured.
The corner of his mouth twitched upwards at the man's words. "You say one thing, but you mean something completely different." Sneaky. Yes, Salem could definitely keep Caer warm, but then that would lead to more problems. Not, that those problems were a bad thing mind you.
"They're probably wet, too. It was raining yesterday." Again, not a bad thing. Being wet rarely proved to be a bad thing...

Caerwyn laughed, and kept tugging Salem over. "I don't hear a complaint, and I certainly don't hear a 'no,'" he teased lightly, and then he paused and leaned up to press a brief kiss to Salem's lips.
"I'm sure we'll figure something out, even if they are a little wet. Lay something down, perhaps?" He beckoned, smiling broadly. "Come on, it'll be nice!"
