Basic Information
The weapon is essentially an Ak-47 designed to fire the much heavier, 16.3 gram 9mm cartridge. Compared to it's predecessors however, it uses a much higher velocity 600 m/s 9mm cartridge, based on the 9mm x 39mm subsonic round. The large cartridge, combined with the increased velocity, produces roughly 2,934 joules, which is substantially more than a standard Ak-47. The round itself weighs nearly double that of the Ak-47 and 9mm, while having almost the same velocity of the Ak-47. This decreased velocity would give the weapon a slightly decreased range compared to the Ak-47, but the ballistic patterns are nearly identical due to the increased weight and momentum of the cartridge, as well as better aerodynamics. Because the cartridge is much larger than the Ak-47, it produces substantially more recoil, which is largely mitigated by it's recoil buffer system. Despite being suppressed, the weapon is still super sonic, so within 200 yards it is still quite audible, although hearing protection does not need to be worn. The cartridge itself uses the case of the 7.62mm x 39mm, like the 6.5mm Grendel, the 6mm PPC, and many other cartridges, making it effectively a wild cat of the 7.62mm with a necked up case and more powerful gunpowder. This ultimately brings the weight of the cartridge to 24.3 grams, which effectively allows a 30 round 7.62mm x 39mm magazine to hold 20 rounds, or 30 with the extended 40 round magazines.
The weapon uses a number of recoil reducing methods, notably the muzzle break to which the suppressor is attached to. Integrally suppressed, the suppressor only adds a few inches to the overall length of the weapon, as it's designed to wrap over the barrel, allowing for a considerably longer barrel length, and far greater suppressive capabilities. The hydraulic recoil buffer is combined with a standard recoil buffer, similiar to that found in the H&K USP, which further reduces the felt recoil of the weapon.
