His side
There was a red figure on the rooftop of the dorm building, the quiet blue eyes reflected the sky donned by multitudinous shiny stars. Next to her was some bottles, toppled and standing. It didn't have anyone but her, she didn't seem to care as she picked up the bottle in one of her hands. She didn't drink it but put it under the soft glow of moonlight, the liquor looked like a miniature of an ocean.
After an unknown while, she put it down and began to count, "One, two, three, four, five......" Someone walked towards her and she paused. "Hey, you're here." The tall figure approached her and sat down next to her. "You're not wearing your hunter coat again?" The blue eyes gave him a cold glance and returned to stare at the sky, "None of your business, you're simply a stranger."
Ace was mildly surprised by the blunt attitude of her but it wasn't a big deal for him. "Do you plan to drink all these by yourself? Not a good idea, girl." In contrast, she flashed him a smile this time. "Do you want to join me then?" The tall hunter returned her a grin, "Sure, my pleasure."
She was too silent, as if he wasn’t there. Therefore Ace asked a question to draw her attention. “Does it fun to watch the night sky?” She didn’t look at him but replied: “Not really.” When looked from aside, Ace would see her unfeeling eyes, they didn’t show any emotions. As if two blue marbles, it reflected the beautiful sky with tiny stars without embellishing. He opened a bottle and picked up to take a sip, “Then why are you looking at it?” He said, wanted her to give him a glance. “Because...I dunno. I don’t know what to do, living is suffering and just breathing, feels so difficult for me.” She cast her eyes down, long and dense eyelashes did not allow anyone to see the emotion flashed by. The sky blurred in her eyes, just like everything wasn’t real for her.
Ace had no idea why the girl was telling him that, he felt she carried a lot of secrets in which piqued his curiosity. If she needed a listener, he was all ears. “Why did you agree to be a hunter?” The girl finally turned her head to look at him, “How about you? Why you chose to be a hunter?” Her strike back earned a chuckle from the tall man. “Nothing big, I lost the place to live and they promised to give me one.” She made a “hmm" agreeing it was an insipid story, but she wasn’t the one suitable to say so - “I wanted to leave the place I lived and had a start over.”
She stood up and climbed onto the thin border of the edge, and walked along the surface that not wider than the size of a foot. It was very risky but Ace just watched with a small smile. “Hey, you might fall.” Even the warning wasn’t very serious. “Who cares?” She cracked a laugh, eyes still fixed on the night sky as she stepped out. He watched, every step she moved, it was so wobbly that she would have fallen the next second. Ace couldn’t tell if the girl was drunk or she deliberately made herself losing the balance. To return her noncommittal attitude, he grinned. “You don’t afraid to die?” She squatted and giggled escaped, “You’re so funny. Your weapon won’t allow you to die so easily, unless they’re aloof.” She pointed out. “The worst will be breaking some bones,” her blue eyes stared downwards, gauging the height and said calmly with an lethargic voice. “Though I’ve thought about it,” she stood up slowly, “.....Nevertheless I need to keep a promise.”
“Promise?” Ace picked up the bottle to gulp. “Someone I love, they told me to live on.” The girl reached out a hand with a dreamy luring smile, Ace grabbed her soft hand and she hopped down.like a light weight feather to take up a bottle. “My clock had stopped and it feels suffocating to live on." The girl drank the whole bottle at once, and leaned against his shoulder. “Why I’m still living? I can only lose my life in inevitable situations, that was why I signed up to be a hunter.”
It was a heavy dark conversation, but she took it so lightly and aloof. Ace felt like he was facing a pretty doll, that was barely sentiment enough to imitate from him, the smiles and giggles. A lovely rosy pink emerged on her cheeks and she had fallen asleep in such a short time. Even in her sleep, her facial muscles were not relaxed as to tell anyone she would wake up and not sleeping soundly at all.

Her side
Her head felt awful and her body was deprived of energy, she recalled she did drinking the night before. The ceiling reflected in her blue eyes was not the usual one she would have seen, the hands casually reach out didn’t grab a plushie back, she sensed there was something wrong. The small room went into sight was hard to describe: Packed, girly stuff like perfume bottles, cosmetic products and clothes. On another side, there were male shoes, pants and trinkets. Whose room she was in?
She slid off the bed, her boots were put aside of it and she detoured them to check the room barefoot. It was weird to see the polars existed in the same room, she picked up a bracelet in princess crown shape and played with it, then she opened the closet to take a look of the clothes, mostly black and long. The coat and scarf were missing from it indicating the room owner was out for duty. The girl pinched up a perfume bottle and shook it, the room was small that she soon finished browsing it and felt drowsy again. She allowed herself to lie down on the stranger’s bed and rolled up the blanket to be a big pillow to cuddle with and closed her eyes. She curled like a tiny shrimp which was a signal of lacking of security.
She pressed her forehead with the rolled-up blanket, as if slumping into someone’s chest. It was lucky that she didn’t have duties until midnight. Opening her bleary eyes again, the owner hadn’t returned to the room yet. She brushed her hairs and sat up, only to meet with the man pushing in. “Oh, you wake up?” She could barely recognized it was the man she drank with the night before, she asked for what time it was with impervious eyes.
“How do you feel?” The man sat at the edge of the bed. “Awful,” the girl said with a deadpan face, “Do you have a candy?” He, who was still wearing his hunter coat, fiddled his pocket and pinched one out. He slowly unwrapped the package paper and held it with two fingers, then smirked at her. She rolled her eyes and climbed forwards, parted her lips and nibbled his forefinger as revenge. She wasn’t a docile pet, she had to tell him. Chewing the candy, the sugar intake made her feeling better. She pulled up the jacket that slid off her shoulder and put on her boots. “You ain’t staying?” The man lay himself on the bed looked upward at the girl. Not even giving him a glance, she answered, “I trust no one. I need no one.” Her voice was as hard and cold as a block of ice. She tapped her boots against the floor and stood up, but her wrist cuffed by the hunter. “That’s how you repay someone who took care of you for the whole night?” He grinned mischievously, “At least tell me your name.”
“Let go.” Ace smiled and pulled her down, “No.” She pulled her arm but a girl’s strength didn’t go beyond boy’s normally, the blue eyes glared at his hand caging her and she frowned slightly. “I don’t have one.” He was mildly startled of her answer, “Orphan?” It was not surprising to find out there were more people like him. “Worser than that.” She pushed herself up, “Call me whatever you want, I’m going.” Unlike the Sun senior, the girl was calm to his pestering so he stepped further. “Would you be in the same place we met?” She squinted at him, “Maybe, maybe not. What’s your purpose?” Ace shrugged, “Nothing, want to see you again,” he cracked a laugh.noncommittally.
The black haired girl raised an eyebrow at his reply, “Save it. I don’t believe it.” Her voice, despite soft in nature was razor-edged and assertive. “Why not?” The blue eyes stopped on him for only a few seconds. “No one will truly like me. Are you releasing me or not?” Ace chuckled, “I like eating spicy things and you’re spicy." He leaned closer and whispered. She returned a sigh. “I’ve got to go, to meet someone. If you wanna go -” She didn’t end it but flung his hand off abruptly and opened the door. She took a side glance at the tall man followed and put on her hood while hiding behind Ace to dodge from the camera. She went upstairs and stopped at a room, the room was much bigger than theirs, it was a big space divided into several rooms.
“You’re late,” a male voice slightly sulky came from the kitchen. “Sorry, got drunk last night.” The girl once closed the door, threw herself to the couch easily. A pair of cool grey eyes stared at the man at the door, “I don’t remember asking you to bring someone.” The man had dark tanned skin took off his apron and walked out. “Ace, nice to meet you.” The new man casually shook the hand Ace reached out and gave his name. “What have you made today? It smells nice.” Like a lazy feline, she rolled on the couch. “Can’t help it, I was unable to dump him.” She didn’t care which room she is staying as long as she could sleep well with the warmth of somebody.
She had a feeling that the three of them were going to be chained from that day, the deal she made with the hunter with seafoam hair and the tall hunter that determined to tag long. She was aware that Ace didn’t recognize her and thought it was the first time they see each other. Scooping some cakes, she watched as the two men chitchatting with a smirk. The dark chocolate cake was as delectable as usual and she felt like she was in heaven. The blue eyes gazed at them, one picked up a plate while another said he didn’t do good with sweet. She pouted for how many good desserts the man had possibly missed, not that she cared. She simply wanted to enjoy some sweetness in her life as she needed to spend it until she perished.
