Training? You Just Started Yourself!

Information: You are to take your disciple (equal or one rank lower) and go into the wilderness of your respective village for a night or two. During this time, the two of you are to kill boredom by sparring and training like no tomorrow.

Note: You are to post until you have sparred once, or the disciple has learned two techniques. Bonus: 200 AC.

Evaluation Day

Information: The Raikage wants to know how the Genin in the village are handling their training and development. You are to go and evaluate a few random shinobi of your choice. You can simply watch them, ask them questions, or even spar with them. Once you have your information, relay back to the Raikage.

xxxxxTakumi Report
There's not much to say in the way of Takumi. We were informed of murders in the neutral village, and missives were sent to each of the villages asking for help. I went personally to investigate while retrieving some items. I am unsure how many villages sent help, or if the matter was ever resolved. Helping an anonymous shinobi from Konohagakure, three perpetrators were stopped, one killing his two comrades and then committing suicide. The only information that was gleaned was that they do not work for the UHV.

On a separate matter, Takumi is no longer accepting trade with Kumogakure due to recent events. Counterfeit money was found in a payment to the trade village, and because of it they no longer trust us. I will be sending a team soon to investigate the issue. We are in need of supplies and cannot afford this break of trust, especially after the attack.

xxxxxAttack Report |
I returned to the village after the events in Takumi to find it had been taken over by a group of supposed 'bandits'. From what I understand of the situation, provocation led to a death in their numbers, and the situation spiraled out of control. To settle the issue, their leader proposed a duel between their swordsman and one of our own. The duel ended in a draw, but by then I had come to an agreement with their leader.

Besides the three at the academy, there are four reported others. One committed suicide in the office after attacking one of our own, and one other was captured by Wanryoku. Another, Melody, was stopped by her leader. The other is still unaccounted for, but from their brief appearance, it seems they are a Genjutsu user.

We are currently in a thin alliance with what is left of the attackers. Their leader has information to share, and they will be removed from the village once that information is given.

Damage report: Heavy damage to the Residential District, and moderate damage to the Academy. Both will need attended to soon. The heaviest number fatalities happened in the Tower, but the office sustained minimal damage. Three ANBU are dead, and civilians casualties are still being counted. Thankfully, the body count will be small; most of the village was evacuated. They will be able to return home soon. It seems there was a Genjutsu layered throughout the village to make the bodies look significantly more.

xxxxxVillage Relations |
Lack of contact with Kirigakure has caused trust to dwindle. I have information that Konoha is all but abandoned. There is no news from Sunagakure or Otogakure. Otogakure is still suspected as connected with the UHV.

xxxxxSquads |
Everyone will be part of two groups starting immediately, a training group and a squad. Training groups will occasionally rotate so that you get to know your villagemates better and also receive a different perspective on training. You do not always have to train with these groups, but the instructors will pull you together every now and then for spars. Squads, however, will be who you do your missions with. It is key to learn teamwork and how you each best compliment one another. Groups are as follows:

xxxxxI plan on sending a group to Konoha sometime soon to investigate their lack of presence. For now, recovery and our connection with Takumi will be priority. Rules will also be more strictly enforced. The gates will be more closely monitored. While inside the village, everyone will be required to wear their headbands in a visible place. Genin will not be allowed to leave the village unless accompanied by someone of jounin rank or higher. Disobedience will warrant punishment.

xxxxxAttack Report |
There is not much to report in terms of the recent attack. Repairs are under way and civilians are recovering. The bridge is still covered with Bakuton bombs and need to be cleaned up. Some extra hands are needed at the hospital and in helping clean and repair. If someone does not volunteer, I will volunteer someone. There is also still an enemy somewhere in the village that needs to be found. The ANBU have received a description of the missing shinobi and security has been tightened.

Kirigakure has asked for assistance in an attack on their village from the UHV, however we do not have the hands to spare at the moment. I will send aid to them as soon as aid is available. No news from other villages.

The repairs for the Academy and Dojo are complete, and clean-up has begun on the bridge and in the Residential District. However, with the weather getting colder, double the effort to get people into warm homes is necessary. Shinobi will be assigned to work if they are not working on anything else. Hands are also severely needed at the Hospital.

xxxxxRepair Report |
Repairs are underway, albeit slowly. A few bodies have been found with the assumed cause of death from the weather. However, some temporary shelters are being set up as the weather worsens to help alleviate the cold. The villagers will not be comfortable until they have homes to return to.

xxxxxChristmas Event |
The tree is up in the plaza, and decorating has begun throughout the village. Even some villagers have started joining in the effort. Spirits are still low, but they are getting there. I hope everyone keeps up the effort! Remember that the deadline for the Secret Santa event is on the 24th. Starting the 25th, everyone will be receiving gifts from Santa himself.

xxxxxRepair Report |
After two incidents in the Residential District, resulting in one death and three injuries, the area was closed off to shinobi below Jounin rank. Consequently, the rebuilding was completed by ANBU. People are now able to return to their homes, and shinobi have brand new apartments to live in. Likewise, with a team effort of ANBU and villagers, the bridge leading out of the village was cleared of explosives, and the gates have been reopened. It was also confirmed the the final, missing enemy has indeed left with the rest of the survivors.

The holidays went by quickly. Quite a bit of decorations were put up and spirits were up around the village moderately. However the mood of the village at large is still fairly low. The next process will be cleaning up.

Only one of the squad sent to Takumi returned. Two stayed behind when one fell ill, and the third still has not shown. All in all, not much of an answer was found for the supposed counterfeit money situation, but the embargo with Takumi has ended, and we have permission to trade with them again.

xxxxxBlizzard |
A massive storm blew in from the surrounding mountains, bringing with it an unnatural cold. Doors and windows froze over and everyone was forced off the streets. It was not long into the storm before a strange ringing filled the air, though not everyone noticed it, it seems. Those that did hear quickly lost strength, and the more experienced the shinobi, the faster they were affected, knocking both myself and Wanryoku out, as well as several of the ANBU.

From the snow, reports show that creatures made of ice appeared, noted in the academy and the residential district.Towering about ten feet tall, they could freeze a person on contact and dissipate into mist at will, the fog draining those exposed of emotion and will to fight or flee, making for easy targets that led to the deaths of so many in such a short time.

The monsters in both the academy and residential district were defeated through the combined efforts of the chuunin and genin,and the rest seemed to have fled not long after. However, the reason for their departure remains a mystery. By the tracks discovered at the gates, and the fact they are missing, Axel, Soraru, and Shukenja followed them into the mountains. There is still no sign of their return, and a search party will be sent as soon as we can spare the hands.

Bodies upon bodies were found and gathered as the snow melted, and all were burned after identification, if possible in a massive funeral pyre outside the city gates. It would not have been possible to bury them all before the risk of disease became too great.

Some additional information was obtained on these creatures as well. They come from the heart of the mountains, in the peaks. The only reason they might have for leaving their home was if their home was disturbed, which tells us that something has happened in the Land of Lightning that we need to find. They feed off of negative emotions. After the recent events, that dark cloud that hung over the village made us a prime target. If encountered, be sure not to let it physically touch you. Keep your distance if possible. The key to killing them is to destroy the stone orb in their chest.

xxxxxAlmost seven thousand peoplde dead. Seven thousand... Everyone is to report to the academy immediately. Disobedience will not be tolerated. You have until noon to either show or remove your headband and leave the village. Just know that the latter is a grave mistake.

The vandals were stopped by a group of ANBU as they tried to make an escape from the village, although the mess they left in their wake has yet to be cleaned. Likewise, the body of a missing girl was found in an alley in the residential district. There were signs of a struggle, but no trace of the killer. Citizens should be on high alert until they are found.

Much of the stocks of the Mountain Clover were destroyed by rats before the owner, Makoto Fukui, managed to drive them out. Unfortunately, that means his prices will be rising until he can recover his supplies. The greenhouse, although in a similar situation, is still open.

xxxxxLeaf Invasion |
Little has been uncovered regarding the appearance of Konoha shinobi within the borders of Kaminari no Kuni. However, the missing shinobi have been recovered safely. We are investigating still what exactly they are after. A glowing blue stone was described, similar to the heart of the ice creatures from the attack. As of now, we wait for word from the Hokage regarding the issue.

xxxxxBarbarian Invasion |
As I'm sure you are all well aware at this point, we're under threat of attack by giants from the north. Two scouting parties have been located thus far, and an ANBU squad was sent after one, after they were alerted by one of our shinobi. There is still no word from them. Likewise, a squad has been sent to Raijin Bay to investigate claims of suspicious activity among the locals.

After another traveler was found dead on the road to Kumogakure, ANBU were dispatched to take care of the strange wolves spotted there. The wolves were reported to look as if they were made of shadows, with glowing red eyes, and they are powerful when working as a pack. Upon further research, they have been identified as Glass Wolves. It is entirely possible that there are still more of them, so be wary on your travels.

No news has risen regarding this, and that has left me severely concerned. As such, myself and Wanryoku will be leaving to meet the barbarians at their heart. After all, Wanryoku was the one they were after in the first place. I do not know when or even if we will return. So effective immediately, I am naming Thanatos Hatake Raikage. My ANBU captains will be available to help as needed as well. And hopefully, sometime in the near future, you will receive word of our success, and you all will remain safe from this threat. But continue training regardless. If for some reason we fail, it is likely they will still come after the shinobi lands.
