Sebastien approached the mewling little puddle of kittens and looked around for Latti. She was nowhere to be seen, probably hunting, and it wasn't like her young weren't safe under the little dug-out against the wall of his quarters. No predator was going to come this close to mankind unless it was a wild escaped stampede, and that, he presumed, was why they were so deep in the dirt. He put a finger into the mass, stripes and spots and nubby gems, and caused a bit of a mewling. Latti scampered back with a ward between her teeth. Ah, alright. He'd come back later. He reached out to give the perzi a little pat as she stood outside the den to eat, her kittens calling for milk. Latti seemed thinner lately, but eating for five only worked so far as the other four didn't take back. Pregnancy meant chubby bellies and waddling. Motherhood meant sacrifice, hunger, stress. Latti was a good mother. For a feral perzi she really did care for her youn even beyond the age of independence. She could often be found socializing with her adult kittens on the compound. She also kept the young ones close, never tarrying far from the wall of his housing. A tamed quhar could still trample if a little one went too far. Agh, no, he didn't want to think about that. The circle of life was an aggressive thing. No, he still counted just as many stripes and spots as every time before.
