Metro Arms is the best gun shop in all of Metropolis. Pistols, hunting guns, rifles for competitive shooting; they have it all. The place also has a good selection of knives, swords, and other blades for aspiring collectors. However, the real gem of the store is a strange, futuristic looking pistol, locked up tight in a display case. Like the mighty sword Excalibur, this odd firearm lies in wait for anyone with the courage (and the cash) to wield it.

As the owner of the shop sat behind the register on a slow business day, he looked over to the sturdy display case with a sigh. Not one person had come with interest in its contents. The space age hand cannon was a one of a kind piece, yet some people had the nerve to claim it was a mere toy. "One day, you'll go to a good home, little one." The old man said hopefully. The gun on the inside, however, was okay with her case.

Maggie was glad she was so expensive. Sure, it was a bit cramped in here, but she didn't want to end up in the hands of some trigger-happy jerk. If she were to end up in anyone's possession, she wanted to be given a good home, with someone nice and friendly. The last customer who wanted to buy her was a bit...weird. Ranting, raving, and even arguing with himself. Something about badgers and milkshakes. He seemed hard to read, but his antics made him a bit scary.

((Enter Arell))

And munching on a chili dog a sucking on a cola entered a large man in a duster jacket and a cowboy hat. He almost looked more in place in a Western, but here he was. Arell smirked as he finished the hot dog and leaned on the counter. Looked like he was there for quite a few things, but there was one little pistol that caught Arell's eye. Sure, he was SUPPOSED to be there for something heavy for another mission, BUT . . . .

Seeing the strange looking man walk into the shop with food, the owner was just about to say that he couldn't bring his messy chili dog in...when he caught the guy looking at the extremely rare pistol. Finally! A possible buyer! "You have a good eye, sir. This piece is one of a kind. Hell, it's so one of a kind, I have now idea where it came from! Judging from the fancy, hi-tech features, she's probably government tech, or something. Apparently, they can't see the quality of what they lost." He said.

Maggie was a bit nervous, wondering how this would go. Would this guy turn her away in favor of something else? Or would he buy her, and end up being a jerk? She didn't know, and her curiosity was starting to freak her out a bit. Then again, maybe he was nice. Maybe. And he looked like one of those sheriffs from the old Western movies that Nico showed her once in a while. Maggie liked the heroic type of person. Now, if only she could get a tiny cowboy hat for herself.

"Reckon it's a nice lookin' shootin' iron there." he drawled as he looked at the weapon, his smoky drawl cut through the air like a knife. The man sounded like he gargled gravel to chase his whiskey down. He paused a moment to admire the futuristic gun. He had usually had a preference to revolvers, but this was a beauty. Sure, he needed to get his mitts on something a little bigger than a pistol, BUT . . . . he lost one of them in the IO brawl . . . Only time he EVER lost one of his effects on a mission. And this thing . . . . this thing was lookin' FANTASTIC!

"A'right, slim, how much ya want for it?" he asked.

The owner gave a grin, noticing that the stranger was really taken with the high-powered, plasma-slinging beauty in the case. "Most men would charge hundreds of thousands for such a one of a kind weapon...but I've got a good feeling about you. I can tell she's perfect for you. I'll say...$1,300." He said, giving him a surprisingly good deal. Sure, it was a bit cheap, but something about Arell made him think...that the gun would be in good hands with him.

Maggie was a bit stunned to see the owner drop to such a low price. The tiny robo-gun looked up at the cowboy, noticing the look in his eye. This sale was basically complete at this point, she could tell. Hopefully, this man would be a good person. She wanted to avoid killing, and she could use some more friends among the living. She decided to stay quiet until she was paid for, so as not to scare anyone.

Arell smirked as he reached for his wallet and pulled out a big wad of cash, counting out the money with a smirk. "Reckon this'll do right nicely." he drawled as he put the money on the counter. This was something. He couldn't tell what, but something drew him to that gun! And besides, S.H.I.E.L.D. paid him good money to help with a few bounty hunting jobs, so he was good for it cashwise . . . what was the worst that could happen?

Taking the money and putting it in the register, the owner grinned once more. "You've made a good choice there, friend. She'll serve you well." He said. He walked over to the display case, unlocking it and removing the gun. He handed it to Arell, letting him get a feel for the weapon.

Maggie was nervous once again as she was handed off, but she managed to calm down. She didn't know this guy yet, and she didn't wanna judge. Who knows? Maybe he was nice. Maybe they could be best friends and watch old Westerns together. She couldn't eat popcorn, though. That was a downside to being a tiny robot. She'd introduce herself to her new "owner" once they left the store. No need to cause the shopkeeper to panic. After all, he'd taken good care of her until now, polishing her and keeping her maintained. Still, Maggie was off to see the outside world, and hopefully make some friends. If only Nico could see her now.

Arell smirked as he held the gun in his hands, smirking as he checked the sights and then casually twirled it around and holstered it, nodding. "Got a good feel t' it, hoss." he said, unaware that it was a "she" . . . he'd be up for one hell of a shock, BUT on the other side of the street . . . .

((Enter Smitty, d**k and Bozo))

Three mobsters were waiting for Arell to leave the gun store . . . and this time, they were read to get the drop on him!

Maggie had to take a moment to collect herself after being twirled around and holstered so fast. She hadn't been held by anyone in quite some time, so it was a bit odd. Of course, she was nervous, but something about this man's grip...it was kind of relaxing. Suddenly, her sensors picked up three life signs across the street, and she took a moment to look out the window...as much as she could when holstered. Those men looked scary, and they looked like they had a purpose for hovering there. They were lying in wait, like predators. Well, so much for keeping silent. She had to warn the cowboy. "Uh...hi. I'm sure you're going to question where this voice is coming from, but that might have to wait a bit. Instead, take a look outside. Those three guys out there across the street look kinda scary...and they seem to be waiting for something. We should be careful." A young, feminine voice with a bit of robotic tune explained.

Arell looked startled and then saw them out the window. "Dey ain't dangerous. Dem da most inept mobsters I've evah met . . . an some otha' dude." he drawled as he finished his cola. /Ooooh, this is gonna be fun./ he thought. Smirking as he saw them on the outside, he looked at the owner and then back outside. "Well, if'n we get dem guns outta dey hands, we can get outta heah with ease." he drawled as he looked at the gun and smirked. Looked like he was gonna have one EASY test-drive.

Maggie listened carefully to the man's words, making note of his confidence. She also noted his mention of disarming them. He wasn't going to kill anyone? If Maggie had a mouth, she would smile. "Okay. Setting to stun bolt mode, just in case. We want to remove their guns, not their hands, right?" She replied, her tone a bit more uplifted. She had a glimmer of hope that this cowboy was a good man, like the heroes in her old movies. Well, he was better than the last guy who came to shop, at least. That guy was weird.

"Exactly. 'Sides . . . we'll have some fun." he said as he got ready to go out. He felt like he was in a western! Move over Gene Autry! he thought aloud as he saw them out there, faking it cool. Ooh, they didn't fool him!

((Sorry for the short post! Gonna wait for Crystal to post before the shootout begins!))

d**k pulled out a cigarette with a huff. Putting it to his lips, he lit it and took a drag before looking back at the store. He honestly had no intention to do anything unless the other two failed. Which, from what he knew of the two, was very likely.

He closed his eyes and grunted. "So how long you think he's gonna be in there?" The cleaner leaned against the wall of the building they were hanging outside of. He didn't like waiting like this. He also didn't like going into head on confrontation with someone he knew was a challenge.

He began to hit his foot against the wall as he waited, preparing for the inevitable battle ahead. "This Arell guy is sure taking his sweet time. It kind of worries me how many weapons he must be getting in there."

Smitty watched the door intently as he pulled the hammer back on his pistol. "Just shut up an' eviscerate the bum off the map when he steps out!" Smitty hissed as he waited for the door to open as . . . .

Arell sauntered out and looked at them, smirking as he lit a smoke as he leaned on the other wall. He looked down at the new iron on his hip. This'll be a turkey shoot! the big Cajun thought as he moved his duster to the side, revealing the shiny gold pistol.
