Personality: Despite his flamboyant looks and the way that he appears to lounge about Shesha is actually a rather hard worker when others aren't looking. He wants to stay on top of all of the various laws laid down by their leader, who is in charge and where, who is being favored at any one time, and who is losing popularity. Being in the know is very important to him, and gossip a grand weapon to strike out at those he doesn't care for. He's very much the sort that one would compare to a serpent, beautiful but dangerous.

Shesha is smarter then he lets on as well, feeling that it's best to keep that sort of thing hidden so as to be allowed to move about as he pleases. Better that he look the part of someone who just has a pretty face because it gives him access to places others might not be allowed, though flirting helps with that as well when it comes to certain nobles both male and female. If he thought that he could get away with it he would likely flirt with the very king of Oba if it meant getting ahead in the world. Since it's unlikely though he will stick with doing so with the various nobles that leave themselves open to his sort of using.

Description:

~ Hair: Shesha is a bit like a bird in that he uses various things to make himself stand out. For his hair he will have it in the style like in the sketched, with decorative beads and jewels decorating it. I'd like his hair to be the brightest red-orange that the Obans are able to have though if they don't have access I can use one of my dyes to brighten his hair a few more shades. He's the sort that would use dye to make himself more flashy and therefore more easily noticed.

~ Eyes: I'd like them to be a light, bright pink please! I will leave it up to the artist to pick so long as it's a bright and flashy color, please.

~ Skin: A nice, chocolate brown, something akin to Eadenur's skin tone or a touch lighter. He will have jewels on his shoulders as well as the few that he has on his cheeks in the sketch that I did.

~ Other: Shesha will use some make up to accent his features, things like a bit of color in his lips, eye liner, and the like. Nothing really heavy, just to make his features look that much nicer and make him stand out that much more.

Clothing: A drape something like the one that he is wearing in the sketch, with any sort of patterns along the edges and on the inside of it that the artist wants to add to it. He likes pretty, flashy things, so the artist is welcome to have fun designing what is on it. Along with that he will have a simple wrap skirt with a matching pattern to his drape. I will leave the length of it up to the artist, either falling to his knees or to the floor, I am good either way. If it's shorter if he could have a pair of sandals on, please, that would be great.

Accessories: Bejeweled beads in his hair, various (asymmetrical) piercings in his ears, neck rings, bangles, etc. The artist can feel free to add various other jewelry and piercings if they'd like to. Metal wise for him I would like everything to be gold, please, the jewels can be a rainbow of colors, whatever colors the artist wants to make them.

History: Shesha was born very much as a nobody, the last son born in a household with many kids, and it was quite unlikely that he would be all that much if he'd stayed there. His was a bit family, the sort where his father saw a lot of kids as a statement of his masculinity but he didn't exactly have no much in the way of money they they were able to get a lot of things that one might one. Things like hand-me-down clothing that went through various kids, and various patch jobs, before getting to him was just one example of how things went for Shesha. They weren't well off and it led to a bit of in fighting among siblings as they got older, as well as the desire to do what was needed to be the 'favorite' in effort to get more then the others, leading to a bit of strain between sibling relationships. As the youngest Shesha had the hardest time competing for the longest time, leaving him without fairly often, and also built up a competitive streak in him. He wasn't the sort that wanted to remain as a nobody in his family which developed to him not wanting to be a nobody in general, quickly growing far too ambitious for that. He saw what others who were better off had and he wanted all of what they had and more.

It was when he learned that one could use a smile and sweet words to get what they wanted that he started to grow into the person that he is today. It was something he did first with just those in the area around him, those outside of his family, using them first to get what he wanted even if it was simple things. What he got he carefully horded after getting it taken away from him by his older siblings when they found him with some sort of sweet food or shiny bauble that he'd obtained on his own.

The moment that he was able to do so he broke away from his family, finding himself a patron among the higher ups of his neighborhood, the first being an older woman with no children left in the nest. Her having no children around, all of them being quite busy and spread out all over Oba and beyond to visit often, made her perfect. Despite her being at times severe when it came to her new charge Shesha didn't mind, he felt that at least she saw him, which did pleased him greatly. He found himself drinking in all he could from that her when it came to what was needed to fit in in the upper class. She's wasn't noble by any stretch but she was still far more then he was. If there was anyone in Shesha's life that he might have really and truly loved it was her, not because she helped him in the first steps forward, but because of the attention he got from her. She was also able to introduce him over time to people that would aid him in stepping up in the first, putting distance between himself and where he came from. The idea of going back to what he'd left behind, even for a moment, and once more becoming what he was is something he doesn't want to thinks about.

It was through meet and greets that he made his version of friends, those who were more then friends, as well as a few rivals, among those with higher standing, something that continued until the present day when he finds himself as the 'friend' of an older Oban woman. He goes with her on her various errands, to social gathers, dances, and plays the part of her arm candy, while looking ever for his next potential patron. He's yet to leave her though because her pockets are deep and they support his various tastes, not to mention she has many good contacts among the nobles he wants access to. Shesha, even with his learning, was below her in station but someone she took, flaunting Shesha in her husband's face, a bit of spiteful revenge toward a man with several mistresses. It caused him to be privvy to more then one of their arguments but even that wouldn't drive him away from her since she is almost perfect in his eyes. Were he to find someone better, he'd likely leave her, something she knows since she is far from his first, but it's something she puts up with for her own reasons.

Deep down there might be a softer, more affectionate part to him but its something that he mostly ignores. The idea of doing something so foolish as to fall in love with the wrong person being the most horrifying thing in the world to him for instance. His mother's main failing, his mind at least, was that she fell in love with someone and it caused her to go along with the man's stupid ideas, the main one being that they needed a lot of kids. He's the sort that wants to keep a tight hold on everything he's gained so far and continue with his upward momentum instead of getting tripped up by such dangerous things as emotions. Why sacrifice his own comfort and happiness for what he feels is a fleeting emotion? Especially when he's seen on various occasions the end result? Especially with him being on the arm of a very angry and spiteful wife. The thing that would cause Shesha to jump ship and abandon one of his patrons faster then anything else is when one of them declares their love for him. He'd much rather be kept around for less then honorable things then something like that. Desire is far more easy for him to understand then love. Lucky for him that awful emotion isn't something that his current patron has toward him, using him as much as he is using her.

Added a bunch to his history to help answer your various questions save for the last one. What I see him being as he grows is something up for debate in my mind. I can't see him as being a really hand to hand fighter by any means, but not a civvie either. I have been considering magic via the wand/staff path to give him an air of his own power, so that he's not always reliant on his patron since the relationship with his current one is bound to blow up sooner or later.

He's not one to skirt around hard work if it means getting what he wants, learning magic included. So it could be a good path for him since it would give him power and not force him to get his hands dirty in the same way a blade would. As such I feel that he'd like that a lot as an option.

I can also foresee a lot of interesting stuff to be done with him. He has the potential to have to deal with his various rivals, the angry husband of his current 'friend', siblings that want to get stuff from him. I also, of course, would love for him to actually fall for someone since it would mean him facing what is one of his greatest fears. That wouldn't come easily though since he'd blow it off, likely even be mean to whoever he might have feelings for in order to chase them off. If he ends up with someone they would need to be made of sterner stuff I feel.

Something to force him to travel down the line might be interesting as well, an assassin sent by the husband, a rival, or the like, forcing him out of his comfort zone.
