Also started this one in my guild.
Duke Edward Drake Wrote: Irro scuttled around the market looking for anything that would help cheer Qora up. Sadly she couldn't find a thing so she trailed back a little broken hearted and a lot discouraged. It wasn't often a market let her down. What could she do for a boy who had had his world ripped apart to fall in disaray and disorder around him. Take him from the wreakage of the past and lead him to her world; Tale. And now Tale lacked the 'something' that she needed. She wasn't sure what it was but it would be out there right? Somewhere...waiting.
She found Qora again and patted his shoulder. She was quiet, more quiet then normal. Something was wrong, but she couldn't figure out what. The sun set in a blaze of fire turning yellow grass golden and bright in the dying light. The red sun sank falling from glory and no less beautiful because of it, and it would rise tomorrow with new fervor to light the day. But there was nothing to light the dark Tale night where they were outside of her parents town. She had seen them but now it felt odd to be in her home so she had left to sleep under the stars.
"You know Qora if you want you can have my bed at the house. I find I cannot sleep inside the walls anymore. I don't know why. But your more then welcome to something more comfortable then a blanket on the ground."
Nilah44 Wrote:
It wasn't that things were awkward between them because they weren't and really hadn't ever been. But ever since they left Oba, Qoraekai felt like he was having to rely on Irro so much which wasn't a feeling that was alien to him. What was alien to him was having to rely on someone outside his original family group, which he supposed he didn't even have now. All that was in the past and he was supposed to be moving on from that though the young oban often thought about his home. He hadn't done the amount of traveling that Irro had so this new world of hers was both wondrous and terrifying at the same time. His teachers didn't have much knowledge of Tendaji or this land called Tale so he knew little to nothing other than what Irro had filled him in on.
With both their spirits low, it seemed, Qora had decided to refrain from going to market with Irro this time and avoid the stares they often got in Tendaji. Irro on her own probably accumulated plenty of stares in her home country, an albino oban only multiplied those. He cracked a small smile when she came back, though she looked rather dejected. He shook his head and took her hand, pulling her to the ground with him. With the sinking sun the atmosphere was much more comfortable for the both of them. "I appreciate the offer, Irro, but I think I'll stay out here with you." How could he put himself on someone else's hospitality, even if it was Irro's parents.
He eyed her out of the corners of his eyes, she was abnormally quiet he noticed. "What is it?" He asked bluntly.
Duke Edward Drake Wrote:
"What is what?" she glanced at him..."Oh, this." She gestured at her face. "Well I really thought the market would have something to cheer us up. But for once it didn't and the markets so seldom fail me and I feel like something sucked the hope out of me and well it just wasn't a good time not to find something good you know?" Despite being home, despite the beautiful sunset, despite the grass she had missed so much she just didn't feel good. Was it that she missed Oba? Or was it something off throwing her off, maybe the stars were out of alignment... ugh.
She lay down in a miserable heap using Qora's leg as a convinient pillow and eyes slitted watched the sky darken. Maybe a good nights sleep would fix them up.
Nilah Wrote:
As his lap became her convenient pillow, Qora sighed and took comfort in her presence at least. So she thought they needed some cheering up, huh? Well, he had to admit it wasn't without its evidence. It was a whole new world for him and maybe that was what he needed to focus on more. The fact of the matter was he was going to live a life he was never really intended to live, or at least he had never thought he would. So what was there holding him back? He had no obligations anymore, no set rules or outlines for the future. He could just go and do whatever he wanted. Of course...the majority of that revolved around Irro surprising enough to him.
He tensed his thigh under her cheek, hoping the motion would get her attention. Night was when he thrived and he wasn't so used to just sleeping it away. "Irro. Come on, lets go." Giving her a few moments, he waited before standing. A hand was extended down to her, the crescent scar on his palm visible as he hadn't yet put his gloves on. They had healed up nicely, in part thanks to Irro herself. His thoughts returned to the present. "Oh come on Irro. Its a beautiful night, we can't just sleep it all away. Come show me what you love about this 'Tale' you loved so much." The slight smirk on his face was reminiscent of the kind he used to have, except without the large amount of cocky-ness as it once held.
Duke Edward Drake Wrote:
Her pillow became hard as rock and she raised her head wondering if there was a monster about to jump on him. But he didnt look all that alarmed. She peered at him curiously, what sort of adventure did he have in mind? Her curiousity was piqued and she grasped his hand accepting the aid to stand.
He had a point too, Tale was glorious in the night bathed as it was in the cool moonlight. Qora fair glowed in it and half of herself too for that matter. What might others think seeing them out here. For once she would have been happy to be the cause of others wonder, in the dark they could be magical creatures out and about instead of hiding from the blazing sun during the day behind cream and cloth.
A thought struck her. "I know just where to go!" She tugged him along in a merry chase to one of the best kept secrets in Tale. A waterfall bathed in moonlight. Flowers lining the water were folded up in the absence of the sun but their presence like that of the cascading falls still added to the ethereal ambiance. "I don't think there are many waterfalls here in Tale but this is one of the most spectacular especially at night."
Nilah44 Wrote:
The smile appeared back on her face that he loved so much. Anything but happy or determined didn't belong with her because when she wasn't one of those two emotions you could definitely tell. Qora didn't really mind it, in fact, it was one of the things that he began to love about her. They were sort of opposites in that matter lately, he'd been so sullen and unhappy about his own fate and future which was when having her around made things better.
His smirk widened as he chased her to some mysterious location. It was in awe that made him stop a little ways behind Irro. It almost made him feel like he was back home...only a little though. He wasn't sure if Oba could hold such a treasure such as this. That thought held multiple meanings for him, also including his current traveling partner as not even Oba could hold onto her. This place was unreal, he thought. "You're not joking about that. This is, undoubtedly the second prettiest thing I've ever seen." He took a moment to look at her, a certain fondness in his eyes might have given away the fact that she was the first.
Duke Edward Drake Wrote:
Irro gloried in the waterfall but managed to also catch that look in his eye. She blushed heavily. Did he mean that look? Or was he looking for anything to latch onto after the devastating changes in his life. Did she really care if he was using her as a focus? It was nice to be admired by someone even better that he was different too. Together they caused quite a stir wherever they went. That was good for her buisness. But well she had always been attracted to this pale prince. Not only was he Oban but he seemed to like her well enough and he was well she just couldn't believe someone that gorgeous would be interested in her.
No hearts were won by wilting flowers though and she grasped his hand tugging him closer to the water. "Its the sweetest thing you will ever drink." She knelt and scooped some of the crystal clear water up and brought it to her mouth. Idly she wondered if he was this sweet too.

Qora was gladly lead forward to the water and followed her lead in drinking from the water. He wondered how it was so clear in a land such as this but he supposed he had seen similar things in the desert like Oba. "I don't know how, but you're right. I've never tasted something this sweet." He sat there then, at the edge of the water and took off his shoes before dipping his feet in. The water was the perfect temperature as well. It was as she said, spectacular. Almost childlike of him, he swung his feet in the water while propping himself up with his hands behind him. "You know, I can't thank you enough." He said suddenly but not shyly.

"Anyone in that situation deserves help, you had no one else to turn to and I was convenient and willing. No one deserves to be left with nothing as you were, all I want to see is you happy and free to live your own life a gift that my own parents gave to me when they let me travel to Oba." She shrugged. "So your welcome I guess, I would do it all over again given the chance." She dunked her feet in too. He had a point, but it was also pretty cold to her. She shivered a little but smiled anyway.

"You weren't just convenient." He said rather suddenly. Well it was true. There was much more to it than that. But would she even understand how he had felt? She was right in the fact that he had no one else to turn to but that didn't have to factor in really, he could have just wandered somewhere else and probably of been just fine...maybe...or not. Qora couldn't push aside the thoughts of all she had done for him to think he could have possibly of made it out the same. A sigh let out the tension that had begun to build within him. "You weren't just convenient." He repeated and looked away from her in a boyishly embarrassed way. "Its true I didn't have anyone else to turn to. You were one of the few...really the only person I knew outside the compound. But it was more than that. When we had met I felt like we had a connection. That's why I sought you out." Turning back to her now, he cocked his head, the right corner of his mouth twitched up in his smirk but it didn't have it's usual cocky-ness.

He had thought they had a connection? So he had felt it too that night seemingly so long ago in the water of the pools. Right before he had started to open his mouth and ruin the whole mystical thing. She smiled back wryly. Boys. That small smirk still held much power over her though. Their feet bumped together and she froze like prey that has been spotted by a predator. She had a choice, she could see what would happen if she stayed, or she could run like a scalded radaku. "What kind of connection?' She knew very well what kind she thought it was but figured that she should hear what he thought before she went any further with feelings and the like.

"Well its obviously because we're two of the most stunning beings to walk this land." Qora said with his usual cocky-ness. He couldn't help but laugh but in all seriousness he looked at her with a smile. "Of course that and I felt comfortable around you." His hand found hers and grasped it loosely so she could pull it away if she wished. "You were so beautiful that night I was taken aback by it, the slight sunburn and all. But I knew I wanted to know more." Was that it? It was his initial feelings summed up pretty well. But what had it become since that first initial meeting. Qora thought she knew already though from the way she smiled at him. After all, he wasn't exactly shy.

Irro swallowed and grasped his hand back. "I hardly need to tell you that your arguably the most handsome man ever, your head would get far to big." She winked at him. Her feelings were in a termoil. Was this really happening to her? With the most beautiful man on tendaji? How did she get so lucky? She gave herself a mental shake. Keep it together girl. Ahem. "Qora you better be serious because if this is a joke I'm dunking you in that cold water." Her eyes sparkled with mirth at the thought. She settled a little closer and draped herself in the natural curve of his body. Might it be hers eventually?

The slight nervousness he picked up from her told him he was correct in thinking she knew how he felt since that night. Her wink was endearing and made him sigh in contentment as she leaned against him. "I would never joke when a woman's heart is on the line but..." He paused and eyed her wryly. How much would she kill him if he did it was the question. Qora guessed he'd just have to find out. Wrapping his arm around her shoulders, he pulled her closer and held her there for a moment before lurching himself forward into the pool. The water was cold on the surface but it was warmer underneath. His arm stayed around her just in case the shock was too much as he swam them to the surface, his eyebrows raised at her waiting for her reaction.

Well that was just it! No more nice Irrohnaghal! She came up sputtering to see his sopping wet stupid face. "QORA!" She screeched. All inhibitions gone she pounced him, dunking his stupid head under water, before giggling like a little school girl when he came up. She had not planned on getting any more wet then she had too...but now that she was here she might as well get something she wanted out of this deal to, so after his initial intake of air she kissed him, then swam away, still giggling.

Qora's was lucky to have closed his mouth in time after laughing at her screech since she dunked him under which wasn't very difficult since it was too deep to stand. Nevertheless once he came up he planned to do the same but it appeared she wasn't giving him the chance. The kiss was unexpected but that was what made it perfect. Shock registered on his face for a moment as she swam away giggling but was soon replaced by a smile as he swam after her. It didn't take him long to catch up with her. And there they stood...or swam, treading water. "Irro." He said softly as his left hand cupped her cheek before he kissed her softly.

Irro was too tense to enjoy it at first but well his gentleness managed to convince her and she relaxed giving as good as he gave. This was what needed to happen that night in the past, but perhaps it was better to have happened now in Tale instead of Oba. Here he couldn't escape mauahahaha! Well that and the whole moon temple fiasco. Nope it was better to be now no matter how miffed she was about it. She wrapped her arms around his neck, a handy handle to prevent the dunking she had been half sure was coming, and it felt right. He was warm too which helped a lot. Maybe she should stop babbling in her head and just be? Yes that would be good.

At least with her arms wrapped around his neck he swam them to the edge again and held them up by throwing his left arm up on the edge anchoring them there. There was no need for any words, Qora felt content to just stay as they were for the time being but that wasn't much like him. "So your dad isn't going to beat me up or anything is he?" His smile told her he wasn't worried about it either way. If her dad wanted to beat him up he could, she would be worth it. "Or no ex-boyfriends I'll have to fight through right?" The cocky smirk was back but in all honesty he meant it. He'd fight tooth and nail for her, she deserved that much.

"I think my parents will be relieved that I have someone interested and I have no ex boyfriends to speak of. Mom will probably swallow her tongue though, your even more handsome then Dad." She grinned. "I was an only child too. Not even a sister to gossip with." She loved her family, loved Tale but there were a few people in town she could live without. She hoped they wouldn't go after Qora, she wasn't sure what she would do, maybe beat them to a pulp if they tried...then again, he was so pretty she might have to beat some of the lonely girls off with a stick. He was crowding her a little and she liked it, liked him being that close, it made her heart race in a way it hadn't for anyone else.

They stayed there like that for a little bit, Qora felt so relaxed he closed his eyes. "You'd be worth it even if they did want to. And I'm sure your dad was pretty handsome in his day. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to get your mom and you wouldn't have been born." Too much flattery wasn't for him so he stopped before he got too far. He opened his eyes and looked at her, "Still cold?" The Tale air was warm so if they got out of the water it would be cold at first as always but they'd warm up quickly. If she wanted to get out of the water then of course he'd oblige but he had to admit he was content to stay as they were for as long as she wished it.

She blushed, "Not really, you?" It was so good to see him relaxed and enjoying himself, this was the old Qora..her Qora? Yes her Qora. She let her eyes rove over his perfect pale skin. "Initial attraction does help." she smiled. "They are a good pair, somehow sticking together despite the trials of having such a unique daughter. Dad has a little patch too but it kind multiplied on me." She felt weird talking about it, but with Qora it was different, he looked like he had her thing all over and well it was beautiful. Some days she thought her own thing beautiful too, other days she wanted to scrub it off. She trailed kisses up his neck, everything seemed so perfect.
