4:00 am – Matt is shuffling back to his room, shift was over at the infirmary and he had an extra hour of patient records to deal with. There was really no point in sleeping as he sat down on the bed, pulling off his shoes and changing into gym clothes.

4:20 am – At the training field running too many laps to keep count of. Music blaring on his headphones as Matt tries to remember everything he needs to get done in the day, which patients to check in on and what records needed to go where.

5:30 am – Some training time, mostly with dummies.

6:30 am - Headed back to his room to jump in the showers and get dressed for the rest of the day.

7:00 am – Grabs something to eat for breakfast, eggs, a few veggies and a cup of coffee. There is a look of sadness when he concludes that is will be no bacon for the day, leaving him taking a cup of yogurt to go.

7:45 am – Back to the infirmary again, with a second cup of coffee in hand as Matt gets a jumpstart on some patient charts before doing rounds, checking in on patients and making sure they are at least awake and fed for the day.

[ 4:15 AM ] - Outside Infirmary

It was still dark outside, and there was hardly any Hunter out in sight, save a single portal that seemingly appeared right in front of Matt. From the portal stepped out the Death lead, dragging an unconscious, bleeding Hunter towards the main HQ. That Hunter did not look like they were waking up anytime soon, and it was impossible in the dark to make out who it was.

4:16 am - Outside Infirmary - Matt was startled as a portal opened up in front of him as the familiar face of the Death Lead stepped though. Brows knotted as he watched the man drag a body of a hunter towards the Main HQ noting the smell of blood and rather poor condition of whoever it was. He hesitated for a moment considering he was off duty for only a few hours.

"Do you need any help?"

[ 4:16 AM ] - Outside infirmary

The entirely of Mark, the Death division assistant was dumped unceremoniously onto Matt and it was impossible to tell if he was just bleeding lightly or bleeding possibly to death.

4:17 am - Outside infirmary - Matt didn't say anything as the body of the familiar death assistant was dropped into his hands, he was out cold and still bleeding but to what extent he didn't know. Instead of saying anything to the Death Lead he dragged the hunter quickly over to the nearest bed before checking over his injuries and if it was a quick fix or something more extensive.

"Oh my god," Mark whispered, reaching one bloodied arm up rather dramatically. It didn't seem like he was suffering from any serious wounds, other than a couple of shallow cuts that looked more like he ran into a shallow shredder than got into a real accident, "I'm- I'm like, dying. Take my hand, it's all going dark now. Bring me some hot chocolate and three cans of beer and tell me everything is going to be okay."

Matt took Mark's bloodied arm as he raised it dramatically turning it around to look at, there was nothing really wrong with the man other than a few cuts. Nothing that wouldn't take a few minutes to clean and wrap up. He gave him the same fake caregiver smile at him and simply nodded as he went to get a few bandages and antiseptic.

"Yes yes it will be ok, someone afterward will get you whatever you want. After we wrap that up."

”That looks pretty bad.” Kyle quipped with a raised brow at Mark’s words and actions as he rolled the procedure trolley in to hand Matt a few rolls of bandages before pouring out some antiseptic for him. Was it just Mark or was being melodramatic a prerequisite for all the division lead assistants in the first place?

”We’re going to have to set up an IV for fluid replacement in view of the blood loss. Prepare for an amputation even if an infection starts to set in.” He intoned dryly as he pulled open a drawer to retrieve the largest IV cannula that they had.

7:10am - Breakfast

Scout was embarrassed to say that she'd crossed hands with a complete stranger. That is to say, she had been reaching for the same plate of eggs and had accidentally bumped into a taller man that looked very official.

"Oh ... gosh I'm so sorry. Y-You take it! Please-" she put a hand up towards the plate. "My bad!"

4:18 am - Infirmary
Matt took the bandages from the hunter as he came rolling a trolley of various medical supplies. Setting them on the bed he dabbed the wound with the antiseptic and wrapped it up within a few minutes. When he was done he stood next to Kyle putting a hand on his shoulder as the man had pulled out the large IV.

“See you already in better hands, Kyle here will do a wonderful job finishing up and I will see about your request.” He patted the hunter on the back as he slipped out the exit. Maybe he would bring what Mark what he wanted later.

Or maybe not.

7:10 am – Breakfast
Matt was in his own little world as he made his way to the cafeteria, enough that he hadn’t even noticed the other hunter until she bumped into him. His cheeks turned a slight pink as he gave her an apologetic smile.

“No no, I’m sorry it was my fault I wasn’t looking where I was going. Thank you.” He picked up the plate putting it on his tray before looking back at the hunter.

“Names Matt if you ever need anything in the infirmary I am usually there so just ask.”

"No really, it's okay," she said calmly, relieved that he hadn't insisted she take the tray. That would've just been one more flurry of apologies.

"Scout ..." she managed to slip in before scooting down the breakfast line. She didn't have a nice introduction line like him, just her name.
