Something had happened off island, and that spawned in a whole bunch of new hunters that kept showing up. Clyde had no idea what to do with those hunters so he avoided them. But it was a small island so running wasn't really an option. More like he was stomping around the other side of the island with a hammer in hand trying to look busy. Looking for things to do. mostly he was just wandering around doing nothing useful.

Ana had been gloriously ignorant of what was going on lately, especially because she'd been keeping herself busy. But, as it was not really her duty to greet any new hunters or even care about the new influx. So instead, she was doing her duty. Today, that duty to walk the premises, check for any shadowlings, and try to keep the towns clear. That was a good, strong job for a sun hunter. She saw Clyde walking with a hammer in his hand and absolutely no idea what he was doing, as she headed deeper into town. She looked sullen at his lack of purpose. "You know, you could be putting that hammer to good use, right now." She called out to him.

"Hummm? Oh? I guess I could if you wanted." he turned and grinned at her. "Just point me in the right direction and I'll start banging." he winked at her.

His wink gave his intentions away. Her eyes fluttered with the threat of an annoyed roll, but instead she walked over to him. Her steps were very slow, but purposeful. When she was an inch from him, her arm rose up, straight as an arrow, and pointed in the opposite direction from her. Then she smiled.

"Awe Ana don't be like that." he laughed. "If I walk that way, there is nothing to hammer. Unless you count the ocean over there. I admit I'm not exactly skilled at hammering underwater." Not that he he had hammered underwater. He had never tried on any account. "So what are you up too?" at least today he was still in his shirt. Another indication he wasn't working too hard yet.

"I must always be like this." She informed him plainly as she dropped her hand. "This is who I am, I cannot be anything but this." She was taking that a little too literally. "I am on perimeter duty. Which means I am doing my job. Part of this job is to make sure you are safe - and maybe a small part is to make sure you are doing your job." She liked the idea of that. Even if it wasn't in her particular work description. Bossing Clyde around made her smile. "So. Get to work."

"Very philosophical today I see." he teased her very literal interpretation. "Naw sorry I don't think you out rank me yet. Besides today is a nice day. It's hard to work up the motivation to work hard when it's so nice out. I'll just join you on your patrol." he saddled up next to her. "keep an eye out for future projects, notice if anything is moved or missing that sort of thing." He glanced up at the sky and stretched. "You know things like protect your body." he dropped his arms slowly letting his muscles flex and relax on the way down, keeping an eye on her reaction. He didn't think anything would come of it, but he would slowly... befriend her. Maybe.

Her smile disappeared when he pointed out their equality in rank. Day ruined. "I don't think you can just-" But he could, and he did. She backed away a step when he moved to walk with her, and let out an exhaustive sigh. The flexed muscles earned a squint, as she took a moment to try and decipher whether he was trying to show off, or to taunt her for his strength. Or, perhaps his muscles were twitching from lack of work. Yes, that was probably it. "Come along, then." She let out, putting one hand on one of those poor, twitching muscles, and dragging him along beside her. "If you're not going to do your job, then you'll certainly get put to work helping me on mine."

He could and he did. Clyde deflated when Ana ignored his poor a tempt at showing off. Clearly shirtless was the way to go with her. "I am doing my job. It's just I get paid by the hour here. I can take a long time doing my job, and get paid for the same amount of work." Didn't she know how these things worked? He followed along after her. "Besides your job seems more fun."

"That sounds wasteful. I'm very disappointed in you, Clyde." She clipped back, despite the tiny smile flirting on her lips that gave her true intentions away. "But if you like my job so much more, perhaps you should be in the Sun Division. I thought you liked working with your hands to create, not destroy." She knew he meant that in this specific moment, a walk around the town was more enjoyable than physical work. That did not mean she was going to let him go without teasing him mercilessly on betraying his division. If he was going to accompany her, she was going to make it fun.

"I mean right now you goof. I like moon division. and it's not waste full. It's good business sense. I've worked jobs before and when you get paid by the hour you can take a long time measuring. That's all I'm doing now, measuring." he paused a moment and grinned. "Though you know I do get to break stuff occasionally. You do know how much cutting goes into wood. With a table saw. You have to be careful not to cut your hand off while you are at it." He wondered if he would be less likely to do that now though. Considering he could take bullets, well marbles, without so much as a bruise. Still he managed to take pace with her, she could not escape now, not when he had long legs that could easily out stride hers.

She hid the smile that snuck up on her features when he called her a goof. It was too pleasant, too familiar. Fun was being had, but she did not want to admit it. "Fine." She cleared her throat and managed to cough out. "If this is really part of your job, then you are welcome to come with me. I could use the company." Except, she really couldn't. Ana was an introvert at heart, and she had no idea how to hold a proper conversation; let alone be comfortable with someone. It wasn't about Clyde, but rather about her complete inability to form social bonds with others - which wasn't a problem, back when she was a human. The only bonds she formed behind the mask were the bonds of handcuffs used to take down criminals. Things like friendships were unnecessary, in that line of work. "So.." But here, in Deus, things were a little bit different. "Um.." And she was beginning to realize she was far, far out of her league when it came to talking to others - especially others as friendly as Clyde was. "What.. do you do for fun?" Yikes.

It really was. though at the moment it didn't need to be. He didn't care much though. Getting to know his comrades was also part of the job right? Then why was he avoiding the influx of newbies? Maybe he just felt crowded. While he wasn't introverted, he still was not a creature of staying in one place too long. "Fun? well, usually I wander. explore, things like that. Sitting still never did me good. I don't mind work just I don't like sitting still I guess." he laughed trying to cover the bit of nervousness he felt over that. How to explain his life to one who didn't know know much about it. "I've seen some interesting places, New York, back country. I traveled a lot. Though nothing beats a good hot meal and a beer. What about you? What do you do for fun?"

"Fight." This was no news; it was clear she was in her element when fighting. "Street fights, battles, sparring, wrestling, you name it. I like to keep the body in motion, so whatever helps. Not exactly a wandering soul, but, I don't like sitting still either." And that was why she loved to dance, not that she felt comfortable sharing that particularly intimate bit of information with Clyde just yet. Just the idea of it made her cheeks turn crimson underneath her mask. No one needed to know that she danced. "Unless it's for a very intense video game. I miss those. Still, if I had to choose between a game and a fight, I'd choose a fight every time." She let a beat of silence fall, and breathed in deep - it did not pain her to enjoy it. "I've spent most of my time in big cities. What is the country like?"

That explained things a little. She was used to a fight. And he... well avoided them. Few people messed with a guy who carried a hammer openly. "Ahhh video games. Nothing beats games on a rainy day." he chuckled. "though I played mostly minceraft." that much might have been obvious. "Still not one of my more common activities." unless it was on the phone he rarly got a chance considering he rarely had a place to live. Not PlayStation or anything of his own. The country? well.... when you walk deep, there is nothing but trees for as far as the eye can see in some areas. in others grass. I once took a short cut across a field only to find the mud came up to my waist. I stuck closer to the roads and walking routes after that." he laughed and shrugged.
