There’s a strange, bright star over the Kawani lands. It’s a rare sight, and legend has it that the star can grant a few select Soquili a special wish. Head up to the top of the hill, place a small offering on the altar, and make your wish. Is it a wish for love, a child, a friend or even someone long lost? Think carefully about your wish, however, as you only get to make one!

You may enter for, at most: 1 Soquili Slot (anything but Loyal Companion) and 1 Familiar Slot (Loyal Companion) if you have not hit your monthly cap. To remind users of an existing rule: please check to make sure you have been added to the list correctly. We will do our best to keep the list accurate and updated frequently, but mistakes do happen, especially when there's a high number of entrants. With this rule, we will no longer be rolling an additional slot for missed people (exceptions may be made depending on the circumstance, but they are just that: exceptions, and not the rule). Skinwalkers, whether cursed or pure, cannot enter Wishing Stars. Prizes in Wishing Stars are considered semi-customs; thus, colorists are free to stream them at any time. If you're getting baskets and want to be surprised, please keep that in mind! All children granted will be considered a special gift from the Star and labeled as a 1st Gen Mockbreeding Child of the couple. However, you may still throwback to their mock parents' bloodline when entering them in normal breeding slots, even if it's impossible for them to be related by blood (eg. the seathi Quiyahuatl can throwback to his usdia mother and his angeni father). Wishing Stars aren't breedings OOC, and colorists have more free reign with them. Additional breeds and traits may be added that the parents do not possess. New! Otherwise, all edit levels, breeds (including purebred super rares), and mutant traits can pass (excluding the triwing trait, which is limited to breeding slots), unless otherwise stated. You may use another person's pet or couple so long as you have their permission. (This does not apply in the True Friend and Loyal Companion category.) We're trying something new, and raising the cap from two baskets to three for the Miracle Baby and Extra Gift category. It is our hope that this will help share the family love, and make it a little easier for poly pairs. (Poly pairs with 4+ owners will still have to try separately, though; there's only so many children we can guarantee per slot.)
To be clear, the number of baskets will depend on the number of usernames listed (so if someone enters a self-pair and lists only themselves, it will result in one basket; there will be no chance for a second or third. However, if two people enter a pair and they list themselves, as well as a friend, all three will get baskets). All other categories remain the same, with one prize per.
Limitations:
One header = one spot on the list, regardless of the number of users involved. Less slots (though, ultimately, roughly the same amount of pets given out). Please note that this is a personal choice (by the host), and was not the result of any staff discussion. Whether this feature is used again in the future is up for debate!

This wish can be wished by either potential parent of a couple that cannot normally have children via normal breeding slots. If your wish is granted, the couple might find a special basket near their home one day.
Eligible: Soquili Pair Result: Baskets Restrictions: This category is for pairs who cannot have children via normal breeding slots. They include: - Homosexual couples. - Different species (eg. regular x usdia, seathi x usdia, familiar x soquili). - Poly pairs (at present, there is a cap of 3 parents, regardless of the number of owners involved). - Pairs that can normally enter breeding slots together BUT one or both has used their maximum amount of breedings, and they have never once bred together before via normal breeding slots.
In addition, this category requires proof that the entered pair are a couple. This can be in the form of a lifemate agreement between all parties, or an RP indicating they're together. RPs must have been started before this thread opens, and must contain at least 10 posts or be 1000 words long.

A Note to Newbies Regarding Eligibility
Hello! There has been some confusion in the past regarding how those without pets in the shop may enter. We hope this section will clear it up; if not, feel free to contact me (the host) for clarification!
Users without soquili may enter:
All categories by obtaining permission from the owner of the pet or pair via the Reference and Mockbreeding Permissions thread. The True Friend and Loyal Companion categories by making up a human character (a Kawani persona) and posting from their point of view. Alternatively, users may enter with a familiar if they have one.

I got asked this a few times, so I wanted to make it clear:
Sarah (Ryuu) x Johnnyboy (Tofu) Ryuu and Tofu plan to enter together, as well as with their best friend, Mirror.
Usernames: Ryuu, Tofu, Mirror
None of the listed three usernames may enter any other Soquili slot, including Mirror. It does not matter that Mirror owns none of the parents. Mirror is only allowed one opportunity to win a Soquili, like everyone else.
However, they are all free to enter Familiar slots separately.

Short IC Response: Taranis gazed upwards, quiet and thoughtful. He was reflecting on his childhood; on a time when he was surrounded by his siblings and family. That was a long time ago now - and though he had a mate whom he loved with all his heart, he still longed to be able to see his family once more. He just wanted one more chance to be able to see his brother in particular, one who he had departed on bad terms a long time ago. If only he could see him one more time so he could apologize for his actions...
He wasn't one to generally believe in the wishing star, but perhaps this time he could give it a shot. He quietly placed his feather down and muttered a couple hopeful words under his breath.

Soquili in search of a relative: Relation (mother, father, brother, sister, etc): Brother Breed: Angeni (if possible) Breed: Fluter/Wind or Uni/Wind? What does your soquili leave as an offering for the wishing star? A similar Necklace Wrap like she has though it is Blue with gold and a silver tie and it is tattered and torn Short IC Response: She had herd of the wishing star and seen its miracles take place reuniting ones thought lost and after being awakened from a startling dream she sought out the star for herself. She had a dream of her old life of her brother. She saw the destruction of her family and the death of her brother or so it seemed. Lately she keeps having a dream that shatters the truth she's known. She trekked up a hill that seemed to kiss the sky. She looked up to the stars, closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Wishing star high in the heavens Ive sought you out for help and guidance. I lost my family to tragedy many years ago but lately a recurring dream wakes me every nigt. I may have left too soon for I see my brother in my dreams alive and living a life I wish I could know. Im kept up at night wondering if Im just missing him. I ask that you help me find him if it is true, if my heart is trying to tell me something my head cant comprehend. Wishing star help me ease my soul and I wish on your brightness that my dreams speak truth." With that she bows low and leaves her offering and hopes on that loan hill.

A small piece of a basket one of her children came in, to express her love and affection for her family. Short IC Response:
"Sometimes I think about you, uncle..." Amberlee said to the star, as if she was speaking to her long lost family member himself. "How you took me in when my mother was lost, how you protected me from harm, even when I was too silly to understand what that meant..." She giggled, then sighed sadly. "I'm sorry I left you. I didn't think about the consequences, and that I might lose you and never see you again... I really hope nothing bad has happened to you. You never had many friends and I was the only family you had... If something bad happened, I'm not sure if I could ever forgive myself..."
The mare sighed again and readjusted the piece of the basket she had left for the star. "Come back to me. Come meet my children and the family that adopted me. You'd be welcomed, too...."

Who is Wishing?: Aislin Tell the wishing star a little about yourself: Aislin knew she had a brother but where he was, that was the mystery. One quiet night the wishing star shone bright. Unbeknownst to her, her brother was wishing to find his lost family. Following a bunch of lightning bugs she found him. There was no doubt he was her brother. They looked alike and shared memories only they would have known. They have been inseparable ever since.
