Two weeks. It'd been two long and excruciating weeks since Aitana had powered up to her alter ego. And as the power coursed through her, she couldn't help but sigh with relief, a grin spread across her face as she tentatively clenched and unclenched her fists. It seemed like it'd be an eternity but now, finally, she was free once more.

The past weeks had been excruciating, bearable only because of the distraction that Rob had provided for her and the excessive amounts of sleep that had passed the first few days. Four days stuck almost entirely in bed, and then a handful more where she just had to putter around mindful not to do anything extremely strenuous, though at least she wasn't entirely helpless or stuck to her apartment anymore. She'd even been able to return to work, a few days ago. But at Rob's prompting, and because deep down she knew he was right, Aitana had needed to wait until her wounds were almost entirely closed on their own, unable to break open easily. Whether he knew it or not she was well aware that the bandages would disappear when she powered up. It was not a lie to say she checked them in the mirror everyday, watching with baited breath. But finally the day had come when the wounds had become more like a scar then gash or scab.

They didn't meet in their usual place tonight, instead meeting much closer to Aitana's apartement, she presumed because he didn't want her having much time to wander off and get into trouble. Not with as insistent as he was that they patrol together if she was going out.

And she was early, so very early. Playing. She'd climbed a light pole and was now happily dangling upside down from the canopy of a close storefront, her legs twisted around a metal beam for support.

Juno was practically bubbling with excitement, having to try hard not to let out a whoop of unbridled joy. She couldn't wait to get into some trouble. Especially with Puck in tow.

When Puck finally arrived on the scene, he was treated to the sight of Juno hanging upside down from a canopy in front of a closed store, a huge happy grin on her face. It had been two weeks since he had been out on patrol with her, and as far as he was concerned that was two weeks too long. Still, he understood why, had not only accepted it but in fact had encouraged it so she could heal from the dreadful gashes a youma had left on her back. Once she had been able to return to work, Rob hadn't come over to check on her quite as often, confident that his periodic nagging was having the desired effect of keeping her from overdoing it.

But today was at last the day they could patrol together again. Puck was nearly as excited as Juno was -- he had gone out on his own, of course, between visits to her apartment and busking, but it wasn't the same without her. He missed his patrol buddy and friend at his side. He really did do better with a team, even if it was a team of one other.

He stood there and watched her for a moment, hands on his hips and a somewhat stern expression on his face. The expression, however, was broken by the grin he couldn't suppress at the sight of Juno so happy and fit again.

"Well," he said finally. "Looks like you are definitely feeling better. You ready to do this?" He was quite certain of what the answer would be.

She had been getting ready to to try and see if she could dangle from just one leg when she felt the familiar aura nearby, and in no time at all he was there, making faces at her. And laughing, a noise that was quick to pull her from her playful perch. A hand reached to grasp the canopy as her legs dropped, slowing herself enough in her fall to offer a semi graceful landing, along with an appropriately 'tada' spreading of her arms.

"I had to stretch of course. Who knows how rusty I have gotten in all this time." Juno joked as she quickly braced the distance between the two of them, unable to resist the urge to give him a playful nudge with her elbow as she made her enthusiastic proclaimation. "Of course I am ready. Ready to punch everything."

"Well.. maybe not everything. Did I tell you about time I accidentally beat up a knight?" She was already power walking as she began to chatter, thinking back on her rather sloppy return to Destiny City. "Not my fault though, his uniform was very black."

"And he was bundão anyway." She laughed. Ironically enough, in a way that only happened in Destiny City, Rob actually knew said a*****e - it was such a small world.

"Of course you had to stretch. You've been laid up a long time." Well, two weeks must have felt like an eternity to the lively Juno. Puck conceded that yeah, she had probably needed it. And it probably felt awesome. "Hopefully there will be something to punch tonight." Frankly he was ready to punch things too -- but then, he always was.

Puck looked over at her, one eyebrow raised, when she mentioned that she'd beaten up a knight. He'd read about them in the Primer, of course, but had yet to encounter one. "A knight?" he said as he kept pace with her long-legged stride. Of course he had no idea he -- or rather Rob -- knew the guy. "Oh well, it sounds like he needed his arse kicked regardless." He didn't know what a bundão was, or what the word even meant, but it sounded like the knight in question must have been a jerk.

It felt good to be back out on patrol with Juno. He didn't care where they were headed, only that they were together again and that they encounter someone or something that needed beating up. His own solo patrols over the past two weeks had only netted a couple of weak youma, none of the black-clad Negaverse. He secretly hoped they ran into one of those guys. Apart from that blue-haired little Dark Mirror s**t he'd fought the night he awakened as a senshi, he had yet to meet any of the real enemy.

"I'm ready to do some arse-kicking meself," he grinned at her as they walked, punching his palm with his fist.

"Should have come earlier. You could have helped me stretch." She joked crudely, offering him a smirk and another playful nudge. It was just in jest though, knowing full well if they'd decided to partake in that kind of stretching they'd likely have never actually made it out patrolling that night, far too 'knackered'. And as fun as that was she really had her heart set on patrolling again.

"What he needed, was not to be such wuss and crybaby." She mused thinking back to the whiny knight. Some of the powered people in Destiny City were truly worthless, at least in her opinion. Like she always said, some people talked way too much and did pretty much nothing else.

Her eyes scanned the area around them hunting both visually and with her senses for any signs of Chaos. His punch to the fist inspiring an enthusiastic nod from her. "Maybe we will find a whole gang of youma to play with." Did they run in gangs? She didn't know, but the thought of finding a whole group of baddies to just indiscriminately beat on was terribly thrilling.

tatterpixie
It was 105% Juno's fault, Isiah didn't do anything. XD But shhhh, no one needs to know.

Seriously though - Do you want me to play a solo General? Or do you want us each to play like captains or something?

Puck returned the playful smirk. "I could have, couldn't I?" Now that she was feeling better, with her injuries mostly healed, he could engage in that sort of "stretching" again with her. He realized the same thing Juno had, though, that if they did they'd never leave the house/apartment. And it had been too long since they went patrolling already. He was ready to fight. Other activities could wait til later, as kind of a nightcap to the evening.

He nodded in agreement with her assessment of the knight she'd inadvertently beaten up, even though he'd never seen him. If she said he was a wuss and a crybaby, then that made him worse than useless in the senshi's eyes. "Completely needed beating up," he observed.

Watching her scan for Chaos signatures, he began to do the same. "That would be fun, a whole mob of youma," he grinned wickedly. "I once fought a mob of youma. Little fox-like bastards. They were runnin' riot in me garden, can you believe it?" He didn't mention the assist he got from -- or rather, gave to -- Chara, that frilly little chocolate goth kid.

His agreement to her assertation received another smirk, chest puffing just a little bit. There was a certain joy in being told she was right or more so just in how linked the two's brains and opinions often seemed to be. It didn't really matter on this topic, it was idle chatter, but nonetheless it amused her greatly, her attention turning as it was his turn to tell a 'story'.

"Whole mob?" She piped up, the jealousy quite visible after being cooped up so long. "Is crazy they were in your garden, at your house." She replied thoughtfully. "Is good you could take them out." Before they got inside and hurt his parents or Sidney. She left those particular words unspoken but it was what she meant, knowing full well the amount of damage youma could do to people that had no clue about them.

Juno was about to comment more, asking for details of how he'd kicked the crap out of them when suddenly it hit her. That subtle tingle of Chaos in the distance. And it wasn't just a youma either. A hand lifted to stop him as she inspected, trying her best to pinpoint where the feeling was coming from despite the inexact nature of auras. After a moment she grinned, pointing up towards the nearest roof left of them, practically bouncing with excitement. "Time to shine." They'd find them in no time if they took the rooftops.

tatterpixie
Mkayyyy *ponders* I'll do one of the two below, pick your poison (just so we don't accidentally settle on two almost identical disposables XD)

1) Fairly experienced Captain - has a good weapon and a good handle of teleporting and Negaverse tricks but isn't great at physical fights.

2) Mouthy super devoted Lt - total s**t weapon but makes up for it by being a fairly capable scrapper.

We can bring them in/ have them energy draining or starseed ripping in the next posts heart
PostPosted: Wed Oct 14, 2015 9:00 am

Puck felt the Chaos signature almost at the same moment Juno did -- like a tingle combined with a creepy rubbing of fur the wrong way, as Faust had described. He stopped when she raised her hand, watching her attempt to locate the source of the aura. For all he could sense youma, he had never felt a proper Chaos aura before, so he left it to the more experienced super to scan for them.

Then she pointed up to the roof and grinned, and he grinned back. "Up topside we go then." With ease he leapt to the nearby rooftop she indicated (being able to jump like that would never get old, he thought with a thrill of excitement) and waited for her to join him. The city looked so different from up here -- he'd not gotten much of a chance to admire it the last time he'd done this, when they were out on patrol and playing catch-me-if-you-can. He'd have to make a point of coming up here more often.

"Shall we?" he asked, still grinning. This was going to be fun.

"It's not a damn contest." Senseite sighed with a roll of his eyes, one hand pressed on the shoulder of the slumped lady he was slowly zapping energy out of, a ball of energy growing slowly be surely in his other hand.

The promotion to Captain had been welcome but Senseite couldn't say he particularly enjoyed the responsibility that came with trying to train or mentor anyone under him. He'd much rather be just doing his own thing, and that thing usually involved stealth, something he was finding hard with this particular lieutenant. It was pretty lucky they'd stumbled across this drunk couple, too busy making out in the alley near the bar they'd just retreated from to notice the pair of agents.

"Besides, if it were a contest I would win." He groused before the hand on the woman's shoulder jutted suddenly into the woman's chest before returning with a delicate starseed held deftly between his fingers.

She didn't need any more invitation then that, quickly following Puck to the rooftops. The city was different this far up, and she'd done her share of exploring and playing, but she'd never get bored of it. There was always something new to see or something amusing to mess with. Sometimes when she couldn't find any Chaos she'd just spend hours roaming around between the streets and the rooftops, practicing her acrobatics and just enjoying the peace of the night.

But they were on a mission now, the tantalizing feel of Chaos meaning they didn't have time to play and goof off. Sandals slapped the rooftops as they hunted, braids and loinclothing trailing behind her. The aura grew stronger and clearer the nearer they got. Eyes scanning the streets below them, she finally thought she saw some movement down below and skidded to a stop, silently trying to get Puck's attention as well.

Not that it mattered. The people below could almost certainly feel what was about to descend upon them.

Lichenite just glared at the Captain as the other Negaverse agent demonstrated his party trick of extracting starseeds from the chests of hapless citizens. "Damn right it's a contest," the lieutenant grumbled, pocketing his energy ball and letting his drained donor collapse on the pavement. "I don't give a s**t that you can pull starseeds. I bet I pulled more energy than you did." He had zero respect for Senseite -- he had zero respect for most of his superiors, truth be told, even though he was well aware that could get him killed someday. He didn't care. None of them had earned his respect yet.

He was just about to lay down another verbal jab at Senseite when something unpleasant tickled at his senses. "Hey, I think we got company," he said, looking around the alley for the intruders (and failing to look up).

Puck skidded to a stop next to Juno and froze at her hand signal. Leaning cautiously over the edge of the roof, he saw two dark shapes standing over two not-so-dark shapes crumpled on the pavement. The auras were strong now, sending an uncomfortable prickle down his neck and along the base of his mind. These must be the source of it -- and proper Negaverse agents too. They must have just drained the other figures lying on the ground. Puck hadn't quite believed Faust when he'd told the new senshi that's what the Negaverse did, but here he had what appeared to be proof.

"We gonna jump 'em?" he whispered to Juno. He was good and ready for a fight. And these jerks didn't look like they were prepared for the doom about to descend on them from above.

"Bonus points if you land on one." She added cheekily before jumping off the rooftop, hoping good aim and gravity would reward her with both a soft landing and good hit. Her knees braced for impact with concrete just in case.

As if this obnoxious day could get any worse. Focused on the starseed pulling he'd only just noticed the approaching aura's at about the same time Lichenite pointed them out. And inwardly he was cursing. The starseed was immediately deposited into the pocket of his coat, effort taken not to jostle the delicately fragile ball of energy in his other hand.

"Come over here and I'll just get us out of here. We've got plenty of energy." Senseite grumped, not in any mood to get in a tussle with one, let alone two enemy combatants. Unfortunately the sound of shoes slapping the pavement and the sudden appearance of a senshi in between the two men ruined that ******** senshi." It was a growl practically as the baton appeared in his hand, a flick of the wrist extending the thick metal baton to it's full 36' length.

tatterpixie
Boy I have a potty mouth today. I imagine this'll be a fairly expletive filled fight. XD
PostPosted: Wed Oct 14, 2015 3:11 pm

"No I'm not coming over-- s**t!" Too late Lichenite swore before first one senshi, then another landed on the pavement between him and his Captain. Divide and conquer, wasn't it? Or something, he hadn't been paying attention during that part. All he knew was these guys were the enemy and he and Senseite were Negaverse and therefore the superior force here. They had weapons, after all!

Lichenite wielded his plush horsey "weapon" at the senshi closest to him, a tall athletic woman with green hair. He'd leave the other one, a guy with blond dreadlocks (what, the White Moon were hippies now? Figured!) for the Captain to deal with. This one was his.

Quickly following Juno down, Puck landed next to her, knees bending to absorb the impact. He just avoided ending up on top of the one with the plush horse. "Crap," he muttered. He had been trying to aim for him, too.

He rapidly assessed the enemy in front of him. One had a metal staff of some sort, the other as he'd noted was carrying a plush toy horse. What the ********? He almost burst out laughing. If this was an example of the dreaded Negaverse, they should have no problem at all defeating them. Of course, the other guy was better armed. Best to take him out first.

Bracing himself, he threw a punch at the one with the metal staff, prepared to evade the weapon if he could.

Juno was also slightly disappointed that she wasn't able to land on one of the Negaverse agents. Not only would it have been cool and surprising, it would have been quite an advantage to have one of the two already injured and on the ground before the fight had even started. But she didn't dwell on it long because they didn't need the extra advantage, Juno had plenty of faith in her and Puck's skills.

The choice of which opponent to go against was made for her and she didn't bother to hold back her chortle at the 'weapon' that was being wielded at her. In fact she just stood there, taking a defensive stance as her fingers beckoned the lieutenant forward. "Little old to be playing with childs toy, no?" She taunted, watching for an opening.

All Senseite wanted to do was bail. Just teleport across town or maybe even all the way to Negaspace with his energy and call it a day. Go home, maybe get a bite to eat and play on his computer for awhile.

But he was pretty sure that leaving Lichenite behind to get pummeled by two senshi was heavily frowned on, and since the stubborn idiot hadn't just listened in the first place whelp... now there were two senshi in the way. Oh the good ole days of patrolling alone.

Senseite was delighted when Lichenite chose the super senshi, more than happy to take the 'weaker' opponent. Unfortunately weaker didn't mean much as the dreadlocked senshi immediately jumped into action. As the punch landed on his cheek the captain stumbled backwards in pain and surprise, the energy in his hand bursting and dissipating into the night sky.

His jaw was on fire and he was afraid to move it and see if anything had actually been broken. Hand tightening on the baton he lurched forward swinging it sideways in an attempt to hit the menshi in the side or ribs.

tatterpixie
Man that was quite the typo. XD 36 inches not 36 feet geeeez.

Also feel free to hit her (and him) all you like! heart
PostPosted: Thu Oct 15, 2015 9:12 am

Lichenite's face turned red, partly with embarrassment, partly with anger. "Child's toy," he grumbled. He could still use it to fight! It just had to be used very specifically!

She beckoned at him with her fingers, and he complied, launching himself at the super senshi. They were about the same height, so as far as he was concerned it was a fair fight. He attempted to grapple with her, wrapping one leg around one of hers to throw her off balance and hooking his free arm around her shoulders to grasp at her head. With the other hand he jammed the plush horse in her face -- it would be hard for her to breathe with that thing up her nose. His hope was that he could at least surprise her enough to take her down.

He wasn't interested in going home and playing video games. He was interested in beating the crap out of an Order person.

Puck felt his fist connect with the Negaverse captain's jaw and grinned. This was going to be a good fight, he could tell already. Stepping back, he balled both hands into fists, ready to swing again.

Before he could, though, the captain countered with his staff/baton, swinging it at Puck's side. The senshi squirmed to get out of the way, but it still hit him with a glancing blow just below his ribs. That hurt like hell. Unfortunately for the captain, it only made Puck angry. And when he got angry, he got mouthy.

"Oh, right, big man with a big weapon," he taunted. "What are you gonna do with that baton, twirl it?" He didn't want to let on how much the hit had stung. Instead, he charged the Negaverse agent again, this time aiming for his gut. A nice gut punch would knock the wind out of him nicely.

His hit had missed for the most part, able to feel through his hand the grazing blow. Of course his opponent had to be a tough guy. Couldn't he have gotten some scaredy cat rookie? There must have been an unlucky star shining down on Senseite tonight.

The baton was pulled in front of him defensively as Puck taunted, responding with mild annoyance. "Sure, stand still and I'll put on a show for you." He knew he had a good weapon. Though he didn't like fighting when forced into it the baton provided a great defense. He could still remember the sickening crack from that one time he'd managed to break a knight's arm with a good enough hit.

But of course Puck didn't stand still, the menshi hurtling towards him with fists and the force of his body. There was a momentary look of fear in his eyes before he acted instinctively, teleporting a couple of feet away, out of danger.

As the captain sighed with relief his breath caught in his throat suddenly realizing his huge mistake. 1) He'd teleported.. meaning he couldn't dare risk it again, not if he still planned to teleport him and Lichenite out of here. 2) Why the ******** didn't he teleport right next to Lichenite!!!???

As the lieutenant shot forward Juno couldn't begrudge him for his passion and confidence. It actually excited her so very ready for an actual fight and not the stupid dance with someone who was just trying his best to escape. And she hadn't really expected him to use his weapon in the way he did. It muffled anything cool she might have tried to say and was obnoxious to say the least.

With her decent skills in balance she could have tried to stay upright even despite his limbs wrapped around her trying to tug and pull. But she didn't really mind going down. She fell to the ground, the asphalt rough on her still slightly tender back, but taking a page from the tiny squire Hyperborea's playbook she turned the man's hold on him, grabbing and twisting his wrist to try and get him to let go as her free leg bucked hard against his abdomen. She was trying to send him flying but that would all depend on his grip.
