He wouldn't often say that he was without manners, he was quite a fine young steed and had been raised proper. But who was to truly say what is and isn't proper. His mother would most certainly say he was of fine stock and should only socialize with those in kind. He snorted as he replayed her saying such things over in his mind.

Well mother wasn't here so he didn't have to worry about her nit picking of who he decided to socialize with. Besides, he was a grown horse. He could very well choose to who and to what he spoke. Though, he did always keep himself tidy in appearance. His father had given him this Monocle as his father had done before that. It was a bit of an heirloom, probably the only one the family had. That he knew of anyway. That and he had always been very fond of his father. The male had always been silent yet spoke when needed.

He wanted to be more like him, but he wasn't very much like either too much. His head was in the clouds sometimes or rather he wasn't all there. Though one wouldn't really notice unless they stuck around too long. Though whomever came up with calling someone mad had to of been mad themselves for he was quite normal in all other aspects.

The day was bright the weather was cool and he was enjoying himself a fine stroll humming a sweet sorta tune just barely loud enough for someone close by to hear.

Callie looked around furtively. Her parents were nearby, and if they caught her, they would more than likely want to set down with her and work on her manners and dip- no not dip, it was dep... something or other. She didn't know what it was, or why it was important, other than both mom and da seemed to think she would need to know it at some point in her life. She didn't agree , and took the time to carefully sneak away, wanting the chance to play games, and have fun and just be.Oversized ears perked as she caught the sound of something or someone humming. It could have been a bird or some other animal, or it could be someone. And since it wasn't often she got the chance to meet strangers, this was an opportunity she just couldn't pass up. But she didn't know if they were friend or foe, dangerous or not, so she clung to the shadows and padded softly in the direction the sound seemed to be coming from.

It was Autumn and the leaves were starting to show true to the season as they were turning vibrant shades of orange, yellow red and the occasional brown as they began to die. It was such a beautiful process, watching leaves give their last and then float to the ground to be covered by debris and eventually snow. They would be forgotten and new leaves would grow in their place a couple of months from now. His eyes were glancing upwards at the moment as he watched a single leaf fall, his humming pausing as he watched it make it's swooping arches to and fro and rest upon the ground.

And then he was off again, his humming back to where it was and his steps high, but not too high. It seemed that her nagging was always on his mind, even when he wasn't around her. He chuckled and shook his head and when he did so he caught movement. Ah, so he had a follower. Perhaps his tune wasn't as awful as he thought. He wasn't entirely sure WHO was following him but he had a general idea that it was probably someone young.

He started to hum something a little more catchy and sweet, perhaps it would draw his follower from the shadows.

Quote:
As the humming paused, so did the young filly. Perhaps this wasn't the smartest idea. She was following the sound of someone she didn't know. Following them away from the safety of an area she knew.... There were stories she had heard that started out in a similar manner. Stories that didn't end well for the foal. She had a brief moment where she seriously considered turning back. This really wasn't the best idea.

Then the humming started back up. A new tune. A catchy tune. One that sounded upbeat and fun. Surely whoever was humming couldn't be too bad could they? She followed the sound, keeping her eyes open and her ears moving, constantly listening for something that would spell trouble for her. She held back trying to stay hidden, at least until she could see just who it was.

The choice however was taken away from her when a fallen leaf crunched underneath her paws. She froze. Waiting to see just what would happen. Either they would ignore it and go on, or they would discover her, and whatever happened after that would happen.

He had averted his course to make him go in a wide circle so he didn't leave the area. It hadn't taken him long to realize it was a young filly following him around and surely her parents had to be nearby. He didn't want her to wander after him and get lost trying to find her way back. He really couldn't see much else beyond that as she took to the shadows quite well.

At the sound of a leaf crunching and then nothing he figured he might as well say something to the poord dear so that she might stop hiding herself and actually come out and talk. "I assure you M'dear, it's much more fun out here in the open than in the shadows were it is dark and damp." His voice was rich and smooth, perhaps a hint of an accent. But from where? He adjusted his monocle slightly and peered around trying to get a better look to where in the shadows she was, but he figured she'd come out soon enough. And if she didn't well, he wans't the type to drag someone out of their hiding spot.

Poor manners you know.

Quote:
Callie paused. Considering. He didn't sound mean or anything so she decided to take the chance. On small step at a time she made her way out of the shadows. Ready to bolt at the first sign of danger.

She was very unsure about leaving the safety and comfort of the shadows. She wasn't always received well, when meeting others for the first time. Her ears and paws and fangs seemed as much a detriment to making friends rather than an asset. And she didn't want to be judged a monster before whoever it was even met her.

'Hi,' she said softly as she stepped out of the shadows.

Quote:
Emerald eyes glinted as the filly approached from the shadows and his face lit up with joy. Oh Paws! She had PAWS! This made the male entirely more excited than he probably should have been. She was just the most darling young filly he had ever seen and he was quite sure one of his sisters would smack him for making that accusation. For they were the only ones that could ever be darling and cute and the apple of anyones eye.

Well they weren't here either and he quite adored this young one that had decided to come out and play. " 'ello there little one. I swear on my oath as a Gentlehorse that Vice, me, shall cause you no harm." He said giving her a warm smile. As odd as he could be at times, he was very enduring when it came to the young. Some adults he could get right mean about, but when it came to the little ones, there wasn't a spot about him that would every think ill of them.

"My name is Viscount Ridley Caffington Von Cadbury, BUT you can call me Vice for short." He said giving her a wink and lowering his head closer to the ground so it didn't appear that he was towering over her. "What is your name my dear? If it pleases you to tell me that is."
