Page 3: Consumed by hunger again, the serpent wandered the world. Whatever it ate would immediately come out of its gashed sides. The oceans and lands ran thick with green, and the humans took pity on the serpent, offering eventually to fill its wounds with leaves and branches.
He had found a beautiful dining room, with a long table covered with food. It wasn't good food, rotting even, but that was alright. What did he need of food? There was also tea as well.
It was strangely human in all of this.
The form that used to be Dylan looked around, finding a ripped page of a picture book on the floor. He picked it up, admiring the picture and reading the words on the page. It was a story about a wounded serpent, and he wondered how it began. Perhaps there were more pages around?

1: You see the ripped page of a picture book and it reads as the following:
Page 1: There once was a serpent and it was very lonely. "Why was I created?", the serpent asked itself. "For what reason do I exist?" It had no understanding of beginning nor end, and because of it it developed a terrible hunger. It ate the sun and moon and everything in the sky.
He continued to look, and he found a second page. Or rather, he found the first page. He read it, and then laid it on a clear spot of the table, the other page lying next to it.
It still wasn't the full story.

Vine!Dylan looked all around the table, but only found another of the third page. It was still just as interesting the second read, but he wanted to see the rest. He'd have to keep looking.

Page 4: The serpent was thankful, and blessed upon those few humans its gift of knowledge and the hunger for the beginning and the end. At last, having returned to it's original glory, it parted upon them one final knowledge, when it is time to accept their own end for another beginning. It was then that the serpent consumed itself, and while it's shape was that of a serpent, it's form was that of a concept. From the concept, there was nothing left but the leaves and branches, which began new life of its own.
Under the table, he found another page, and he carefully moved it from its spot to lie with the rest. It seemed like it was the last of the story, but as he read it over, and then the others, it seemed like he was still missing a page or two.

Just another page that he had already found. The vine pondered why he even cared about the story, about finding the pages, but after a minutes thought, leaned towards curiosity. Besides it wasn't like there was anything better for him to do.

Page 2: Eventually the gods took notice of this serpent and sliced it into thousands of pieces. It did not die, but simply writhed as every part of it was released. As time passed, all the pieces eventually gathered together again, but where it was severed there would be thick wounds, forever bleeding green.
Aha! In the corner of the room was a page that he hadn't found yet, and he took it over to the table setting it with the others. He scanned it briefly, and then decided to do one last check before he read the whole story.

After a final look around the room, in which he only found another of the pages that he already had, vine!Dylan decided that he must have the full amount of pages, or at least all of the ones that he could find in the room.
He read the story, from start to finish. It was about a lonely serpent, who questioned everything, and had no understanding. The gods punished it for this, slicing it into thousands of undying pieces. It was able to gather itself back together, but when it did, where it had been cut, it had thick wounds, forever bleeding. Always green.
It wandered the world, eating what it could, but what it ate just came back out of its sides. Everything was green, and the humans took pity on the serpent, and eventually offered to fill its wounds with leaves and branches.
The serpent thanked them with a blessing, with knowledge and hunger for the beginning of the end. With the knowledge to know when it was time to accept their end for a new beginning.
It was a good story, and he set the pages together, leaving them on the table. Perhaps others would read them, and understand. This was just another beginning.
