With the strong possibility of Halloween being Gino Vs. Nyx we need to get going with our planning. The sooner we pin down what we're doing and get our prizes in order the sooner we can get everything in order. If it turns out that this Halloween will be tied into the manga then our thread is going to have to be the best it can be so we can be at the forefront of the Gino side. If anyone was on Team Barton for the last Rejected Olympics in 2012 you may recall the Night Ravens and Sunrider threads organizing people and helping to lead Barton to a respectable second place. That's how I want our Halloween thread to be, which is why having a great thread will be key.
I'm prepared to run the following contests and giveaways as our usual fare:
✘ Page Post handouts
✘ Door Prize random number prizes
✘ Best Dressed Humans contest
✘ Best Dressed Paws contest
The guild has enough stuff to make a Paws version of the original Gaia Goddess item plus at least eight more of the original to hand out as part of contests and other handouts. Plus we own the first five Kindred furs for Paws that I've been waiting for the right time to hand out so this could be the proper time to use them. We also have a lot of random stuff from Loyal's gates and chance boxes that we can use for the page post handouts.
As usual, for the Best Dressed contests I'm going to be giving the winner a letter along with some other goodies. I haven't decided on the other goodies yet though. What we do need is some type of overall contest that we can use to draw more people to the thread. I'm not sure if we can get any kind of art for a major prize because the people I know who do art are super busy or are on a major break from the site. Here are a few questions to get you guys thinking of what we can do for the upcoming Halloween event.
✘ What sort of larger contest do you want to have the guild run for the event?
✘ Should we have more than one prize pack for the Best Dressed Contests?
✘ What type of themes do you want to see for the Best Dressed Contests?
✘ How many door prizes should we hand out (usually I do three)?
✘ Are there any other smaller contests we could run?
✘ How should we go about handing out the many Gaia's Tokens we have (we do have 46 of them)?
I want to be able to attract a good number of people to the thread while at the same time providing a good leadership roll for the guild. So let's put our heads together and come up with the best Halloween thread this guild could ever have.

For the best dressed, maybe we could have a bit of a play on the Runway Theme of the Dark Elves/Dwarves/Vamprires and have it for the various races of Gaia?
Maybe for the Tokens, we could have a sort of Manga Trivia contest? Have about ten questions or so about different things in the manga and people answer the questions and receive a token?

I think these are two unique ideas that nobody else will be doing. Maybe we could do a "lore" contest? Just a small write-up of an obscure deity or event in Gaia's past that we haven't seen in the manga.

That will hopefully draw in the people who are afraid of writing contests. 3nodding I was worried mentioning the drawing might be too much but it's nice to offer other outlets that way it can be done in a variety of ways and people that are comfortable in other ways could participate. Some users probably express themselves better in art instead of writing and vice versa so it kind of levels the playing field. whee

I'm kind of trying to find things that can keep people around the thread during the event that aren't contests if they're not into doing things like writing and avatars. It's why I have the page posts and the door prizes so people who only really have time to post a few times a day can have the chance to win something as well. We have a decent start here.

Always good to have that variety, that way it's not all about the competition. I think that sounds like a really nice idea. Stop Dont Believin Definitely. And the more entries the better! Chibi Halo Yeah five years back I made a thread after we got the journal page with the different gods mentioned where people could come up with their own gods. I had one that was the God of Keeping You Full and Focused and drew the Frosted Mini Wheats dude. Something like that could be a fun thing for people to do.
That sounds amazing XD That will definitely be something fun to do.

I agree with the Gaia Races theme idea!
Another good one would be a deity/demigod-based theme. "God of ___"
I feel like we would see some both cool and amusing entries. If you think back to Frontier Skies where we ended up saving the "God of Spoilage", it goes to show that there can be numerous possibilities for the contestants entering.
