This area is a beautiful garden, but from it rises a tree, spanning high, high above you. The garden itself is overflowing with opulent green, it is strange to see so much nature mixed in with knowledge and yet, it makes so much sense to you as to why.

The garden itself is supported and maintained by swathes of Infected. The maintain their human forms and lumber around in a zombie-like state. They all wear grey coats.

(Roll 1d4 if you wish to interact with them - OPTIONAL - and match your dice roll to the results below. You can roll as much as you'd like!)

The garden was a welcome sight. Something that would perhaps calm her nerves after having been to the server room. Unsure why, but she felt a strange attachment to the garden. Perhaps in her forgotten past, she had some sort of familiarity with plants? At this point, she would probably never find out. Instead, she decided to investigate the garden further.

Quote:
2. The infected seems to be surprisingly in good human shape, other than the top of its head and brain replaced entirely with fungus. It doesn't seem capable of thought, but is curious about you, following you everywhere and sometimes mimicking your actions. In it's pocket is a vial that is glowing red, opening it seems to make the liquid dissolve rapidly. The name on their nametag reads Glen Barrett.

Her attention first landed on one of the infected tending to the garden. Glen Barrett. Their name? Aside from the fact he had shrooms or something growing from his head, he looked the picture of health. The mindless creepy mimic act they kept pulling off was left to be desired. Attempting to shoo them away, she moved over in hopes they would stop copying her, or at most, stop following her.

Her attention shifted to one of the other infected in the garden, soon motioning towards the- No, Glen Barret! No! Shoo! What was the deal with this guy? He was still following her around the garden like some mindless puppy mimicking her every move! If she didn't have more important things to do, she might have found this amusing. At the moment, however, his actions only came off as a burden.

Chasing him off for the second time, she was now able to focus on the other infected.

When approaching the infected, it was easy to tell that they didn't have long before they were fully turned into one of the undying. As much as she hated being stuck in her current form, becoming one of those abominations- she didn't envy their fate.

Quote:
1. This infected is long not there. They keep on repeating I'm sorry over and over again. Occasionally, they will water the plants with a non-existent watering can, but most of the time they simply curl up and cry to themselves, rocking themselves back and forth. Their name reads Bekki Shae.

Any attempt to communicate with 'Bekki Shae' proved to be useless, as they continuously just repeated the same words over and over again, as if stuck on some sort of loop. Instead, she decided to watch them a moment, as they tried to water the flowers with their nonexistent watering can.

Still watching over her, the figure finally moved on when Bekki curled up and started to cry. Her first instinct was to try and comfort them, but honestly.. she just didn't see the point of it anymore. It was obvious that this person was a lost cause. She just hoped they didn't have to suffer too much longer.

Unable to do anything for Bekki, she then turned to face- No! Stop it Glen Barret! Cut it out! Apparently her attempts to chase the infected off was ineffective as they came back for a third time! Honestly, how was she supposed to handle this? It didn't appear as though they knew any better. It was almost pitiable..

Finally able to get their attention focused on something other than herself, she finally hurried over to another of the infected within the room.

Suspiciously glancing at the the next infected, she was disappointed when finding no name tag on their person as the others had.

Quote:
4. The infected seems to carry itself with an air of importance even now. Their entire face is missing, replaced by blooming corpse blossoms instead. It smells terribly, though it doesn't seem too interested in talking to you. Occasionally it makes clicking noises, and you are able to translate it int words. Things like "she shouldn't have" and "the sacrifice was too great". Its nametag is missing.

Getting a good look at them, they had air about them, giving off the hint that they were once someone of great importance. Now? They were just like the others in this room. Their face was gone, replaced by the corpse blossoms, and the smell that emanated from them was enough to have her back away.

Although their 'voice' came out in a click like noise, she managed to get a few words from what they said. But the woman they were talking about was, and what sacrifice was too great, she had no idea.

The last of the infected was literally half the person they used to be. Their lower half gone- completely replaced by vines.

Quote:
3. The infected seems to have lost it's entire lower half, replaced by vines that slowly idle forward and backwards in uneven clumps. Occasionally, it falls, and then the vines pull its torso back up and tilt its head back to normal. It seems to be stuck holding something in the air, though the something it was holding is long gone, as it just pantomimes the action. The name on their nametag reads Dave Adolph.

As they fell, she made an attempt to help them up, waiting until they had regained their balance before leaving them be. For some reason, their arm was raised. Stuck there, as if holding something up, but whatever it was, was long gone now. A quick look at their name tag read 'Dave Adolph.'

With nothing further to do here, and hopeful that she wouldn't be spotted by Glen for a fourth time, the figure departed, searching the area further.
