Greetings, denizens of Kapow!
Once again this April, Kapow! will be hosting an interactive roleplaying mystery! This guild-wide event will lead us all down the twists and turns of a criminal caper that takes place in our own guild.
As those of you whom were here last year remember, Wally West's birthday ended...in MURDER! What will happen this year?
YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO. Although the mystery will affect the whole guild, only those who elect to actively participate will be suspects. If you don't sign up to participate, you will still be able to get in on the fun by interacting with the suspects as the mystery unfolds.
YES, THERE IS A PRIZE! Those who sign up to be suspects in the mystery will be eligable to win an April Sealed Letter. To win, they'll have to watch the mystery unfold, and send in their guess as to whodunnit, why, and how.
IF YOU ARE A SUSPECT, YOU MAY BE GUILTY. Naturally, if there is a crime, there will be a criminal. If you sign up to participate and it turns out YOU perpetrated the crime, your goal is to fool everyone else into believing your innocence. If the contest ends on April 31 and no one has guessed the correct suspect, the guilty criminal gets the reward! (boy, isn't that messed up!)
SO, YOU WANT TO SIGN UP. Please read the following guidelines before you sign up.
-You MUST be available for a reasonable portion of the month to roleplay in the guild. If you are planning a two-week Spring Break in April, you may want to pass on this contest. It's imperitive that you be able to defend your alibi after the crime has been committed. There WILL be an investigation, after all. Being offline for a few days here and there, or only being online weekdays, for instance, is fine.
-You MUST be willing to indulge in a little plot-induced stupidity. The alibis and such can get to be a little out there in a guild populated by Gods and superheroes. If you can plant your tongue firmly in your cheek and enjoy the drama, this contest is for you.
-You MUST only enter with one character. I'm considering capping participation off at 12 suspects. Obviously, this only leaves room for people to participate under one screen name. PLEASE choose which screenname you enter under logically. A character with no interactions with other people in the guild, for instance, is going to be harder to play with. Also, omnipitant characters aren't easy to create motives or alibis for. If you have a character that has a lot of 'in-guild' history, that's the character you should pick to participate.
SO YOU'RE WONDERING ABOUT THE DETAILS. Well, here they are. If you sign up, it is like you have suddenly put your game piece on a "Clue" board. A crime will take place early in the month. You will receive a Private Message that contains your instructions for the rest of the month. The PM will contain your Alibi, your Motive, and instruct you as to when (roughly) the guild's Private Investigator will be looking to interview you about the crime. Of course, you will be free to lie about all of it, both to the P.I. and to everyone else in the guild.
One person will receive a different message-they will be the criminal. It will be their job to create their own alibi and try to fool the Investigator and the rest of the suspects.
This contest begins the first week of April and ends April 31 when the Investigator cracks the case. Be on the lookout for some interesting plot points to unfold in different places in the guild. A sharp eye will be able to tell exactly where the plot is going.
PLEASE REPLY TO SIGN UP TO PARTICIPATE. Sign-up will be open until April 1, or until I decide to cut off the quantity of players.
ninja See you on the game board....

I'm on this. I haven't done much police work in my time in the Corps. I don't want to still be called a "dink."

Let it not be said that Arthur's knights neglect their community in times of peril! I shall scour the Earth in search of the knave responsible!
