Jesus Christ, what was going on? The cannibal casino and the abandoned hospital she could handle, sure, those were just staple tropes to expect in any sort of horror genre. All that had been missing were zombie doctors, terrifying nurses, some psycho inmates (although they did seem to have it covered as far as making them the ones suffering the hallucinations and go nearly insane), and shotguns. A hell of a lot more shotguns. There was a serious lack of guns period, actually, she was kind of disappointed. Not that wielding a fishing rod wasn't fun, but still: nothing could compare to that sort of stopping power.
How Adelaide managed to get out of the wreckage and back to the prison was a mystery. She didn't really question it anymore: a lot of things were going to happen that were out of her knowledge anyway, that much was clear. Best to just focus on what she could do and do it right. In this instance, the medbay called her name like a longing lover, and who was she deny them her presence?
More people had fallen prey to the undying. Were conditions getting worse out there? She had only pried four off the fence just earlier...Adelaide barely had time to take stock of the motley crew locked in with her for that shift; at best she recalled that there was just two other people with her instead of the usual three, and she didn't know what to make of that. She didn't know what to make of quite a bit that was going on now. Maybe it was just coincidence and she needed to get her head in the game again.
This was evidenced by the fact that despite being a lieutenant in the medical department, her hands kept shaking as she tried to insert the IV. "Drink your goddamn fluids," she snapped at the patient, venting the anger off herself and onto him. "I can't find your vein if you don't drink enough water. How many times do I gotta say that? Now hold still..."

She pulled herself aside once the IV was in and let the doctor do his work. Adelaide stared hard down at her shaking hands and little by little forced them to stop. Her patient wasn't the only one in need of fluids. The older woman could feel her lips chapping and her head growing light if she did too much at once. Water was becoming scarce, as was juice. No surprise it was hard to trade even for a beer at this point.
"I'm fine," she grunted when the doctor gave her a questioning look. "Just was looking for something." Rolling her shoulders, she got to disinfecting the open wound.

Huffing a sigh, Adelaide finished up her work and rolled the bandages up around the patient's leg. "Let me know if it's too tight." It usually was; she had a habit of preferring to err over the side of losing circulation over completely having the thing unwind.
"S'good." The kid was hollow eyed. "Sorry."
"Nah." She gave his shoulder a pat. "It's getting hard out there, kid. Never stop moving. And maybe watch where you move too next time."
