"I am eager for the time when we are ready to move." Khaldera said as she swam along, heading toward where the bulk of her stash of dragon orbs was located. It was time for her to gather them all up and prepare herself for the ceremony that she would be going through to become Merkorian. The run in with the Peisios told her that her thoughts on the future, and where she wanted that future to be, was something that had to happen sooner then later. She wanted to get her people away from the deep sea trench where they lived to a safer place, one that would aid in protecting their children, allowing them to grow up in greater numbers then they did currently.
It would be a grand thing indeed she thought to herself, something that made her smile just a little bit before she looked over at Kamau, "Once we gather up the orbs we will be on our way to where I have been told the ritual will take place. Once we get to the beach I will go ahead on my own. I want you to wait for me, alright. That way you won't risk getting injured." She didn't want for him going out on land where he might get eaten up by any number of things. Best that he stayed where he would be safe while she went to do her trip to where the ceremony would take place.
Kamau gave a nod of his head, about to respond just as they broke the surface but instead he gave a surprise squawk sound. Khaldera came up just behind him, looking around, and found herself starring at a pair of strange dragons. They weren't like any that she'd seen before, but the moment that she saw the pair she was instantly on edge and prepared for battle against the pair. Drawing in a deep breath, along with some magical power, sending it forward in a powerful blast toward the two dragons... only to have the the pair dodge by diving down out of the air and into the water to either side of Khaldera and Kamau.
Looking from side to side Khaldera gave a snarling sound, "Damn dragons!" They weren't a surprise that she much cared for, not because she didn't want to fight with the dragons but instead because of Kamau. If he hadn't been around then she'd of been fight with this situation and would be doing her best to kill them. Glancing toward Kamau she said, "Stick close to me." She told her fellow Merkora as she set to work gather more power, this time using it in a more defensive manner, wrapping the power around them, to protect them from the pair of dragons that she couldn't see at the moment.
Sinking down into the water, wrapped in darkness, she looked around through the water, trying to spot the dragons. Just as she caught sight of one of them a blast of magic came their way, freezing the water that it touched. It was in that moment that Khaldera realized what it was that they had run into, a pair of Aiskala dragons. She'd heard that on occasion they could be found flying over the ocean, but she hadn't thought they would run into them. She wasn't sure if it was lucky or not but either way she meant to get her claws on their orbs, wanting to add them to the growing collection that she had. The more that she gathered the better a chance that she had to become Merkora... meaning she needed the two orbs from these dragons as well.
"Alright, time to get their orbs."

As Khaldera allowed the swirling magical barrier that she'd been using to shatter she then released a forward blast of power that flew toward where the Aiskala dragon had been... only to realize that it was no longer where they had been moments before. A waste of power, but one that she would worry about later. Instead she had to find the dragons that had... fled? Dodged? Wasn't quite certain, in fact after looking from side to side she couldn't see either of them. It took a moment for her to realize that they were above her again, likely not even in the water any longer but instead up in the air and out of reach.
Nothing was worse then when the dragons took to flying given her own lack of wings. It made her miss the Peisios already, having enjoyed being on the same level as them, even though they were a danger she was glad had been wiped off her secton of the map. This meant trying to balance out the battle, didn't it? Giving a grumbling sound she turned to look toward Kamau who was sticking close to her and she said, "I am going to make a break for the beach, I will lure them away, and I want you to find yourself a spot to hide." Kamau was given a quick pat on the head before she raced in the direction the shore was located, with Khaldera throwing magical blasts toward the Aiskala, getting them to chase after her.
Here she had thought that the rest of her journey to where the ritual would take place would be easy but she'd been wrong. Instead of easy she was getting another battle against a new sort of dragon, a damned winged sort, but she supposed in the long run it was worth it. Well, maybe not worth the danger to the clan's breeder but definitely worth the effort it would take to obtain the orbs that the two dragons would give once defeated. The moment that she got to the shore Khaldera jumped on, landing on all fours, and whirled around to send another blast of magic toward the pair of Aiskala that were pursuing by air. The two parted around the shot, one going left and one going right, but they weren't left completely unscathed by the attack.
"Good, good." She murmured to herself, gathering more power to herself. That she'd been able to hit them, as well as injure them, meant that their focus would now be solely on her. Now that the pair were focused completely upon her she didn't have to worry about Kamau. She could see to it that these new dragons were dealt with... though first she needed to bring them down to her level. That tended to mean dealing with their wings, damaging them severely or cutting them off was the best way to go about it.
When their wings had been dealt with it made it easier for her to fight with them because they were on the ground. She just hoped that, when she knocked them out of the air, that she didn't make the biggest mistake. She always hated when she shot something out of the air only to have them crash into the ground and to their deaths. Of course, now that she was thinking about it, maybe it would be better if that happened now? The faster she put the pair down the smoother things would go, right? Her tail set to lashing behind her in a thoughtful manner as she tried to decide how she wanted to go about this. Well, she supposed she'd just have to shoot them down and see how it went...

Khaldera watched, her silvery eyes narrowing, as the two Aiskala dragons circled around her now that she was on the shore and out in the open. She knew that it was a dangerous thing, to allow herself to be seen like this but it was better then allowing the pair of dragons to remember that she hadn't been swimming alone. As a leader she would need to think about those she lead, about their safety first, and this was actually good training for that. If she killed these dragons without them laying their claws on Kamau then it said that she was nearly to the point she wanted to be there as far as her preparations went.
The spell that she had been gathering magical energy for burst forth, flying straight and true toward one of the dragons, and instantly sliced its wing off sending the dragon hurtling toward the ground. Its remaining wing flapped pathetically before it crashed into the sand, hard. The dragon lunged to its feet, snarling at Khaldera... before staggering back and forth in place, and fell over, crumbling away before hitting the ground. She had to say that she was impressed, that the creature was actually able to get back to its feet despite all the damage it had taken from the fall. That it was able to move at all was testament to how powerful the Aiskala dragons were. Another reason for her to make sure that she got her claws on their orbs.
She would be sure to get both of them she thought to herself as she looked around, seeking out the second dragon. It would appear, given how high up the dragon was at the moment, that it wasn't about to make this easy. Khaldera had taken out one of the two dragons and it had the second on on high alert. Not as though she expected taking them both out to be that easy, she didn't quite think that she was that lucky. It would have been nice, but she couldn't hope to fall back on luck. No, she'd need to use skill instead.
That thought firmly in mind she moved quickly, dodging from side to side in a zig zagging pattern as shards of ice started to rain down on where she'd been standing. The dragon seemed to be wanting to use its magic to finish her off. It wasn't something that she could allow though she thought to herself as she gathered more magical energy to herself, using it to create a shield overhead. She needed to protect herself while preparing a spell that she hoped would be powerful enough one that could knock the second dragon right out of the air. The problem being that it was so far away. Surely if she sent magic toward the dragon it would have a lot of time to dodge? A multi blast attack might work, though it would need to be spread out to assure that the dragon was hit by at least part of the attack. It would take a lot of power but it would certainly be worth it if it were able to ground the creature.
With that decided she shattered the shield that hovered over her and sent it flying upwards toward the dragon. If her aim was true it would hit the dragon, cut it up, and force the dragon to join her on the ground where she would be able to fight it more easily. If not then she'd just have to keep pelting it with spells until she finally got the dragon down here... or out right killed it. At this point she didn't mind which way it went so long as she won.

The 'shards' of magic that were sent up toward the Aiskala dragon were able to slam into the creature, causing drops of blood to fall down to where Khaldera was pacing back and forth. It was a good sign that her attack had landed and some some damage. Sadly though the dragon was still too far up for her to be able to figure out exactly how much damage it was that she'd done to the creature. A shame, she wanted it to come down to her now... but it wasn't yet. As she watched the dragon she could see that it's flight pattern was a little on the wonky side. It was trying to stay in the air but slowly it was starting to lose altitude, wasn't it? A good side she thought herself, tail wagging behind her, teeth clicking. She wanted the beast to come right down to her, so that she could finish what she'd started with her spell.
A shame though that the process of its descent seemed to be so slow going. The dragon just refused to land quickly, instead flapping its wings in a pathetic manner, doing all it could to stay aloft. To help combat that she sent another spell toward the dragon, shooting it through the wings. The second spell caused the dragon to start to come down toward her a bit more quickly... but still not enough for her tastes, "Come on, dragon! Come down here and give me that beautiful orb of yours!" She called up at the dragon.
To be fair she hadn't actually seen an Aiskala orb as of yet but she felt she could safely assume they were beautiful. All of the other orbs she'd seen up until now had been beautiful after and just given how sparkly the dragons themselves were the orbs would have to be as well. She couldn't wait to inspect them, just one dragon stood between her and seeing them... and that dragon was nearly here.

The moment that the dragon touched down, heavily at that due to the time it spent aloft with its various injuries, Khaldera was charging right for it. Up close, and not underwater where it was harder to get a good look at the dragon, she couldn't help but to admire them. The dragons were rather beautiful, weren't they? Something that she couldn't wait to battle it out with. The more powerful and beautiful a creature was the more tempting it became to fight with it. The moment she was close enough Khaldera launched herself up onto the dragon, climbing up it, and went straight for it's throat. Her many sharp teeth sank in deep to the dragon's throat, tearing into it, before she set to shaking her head rapidly from side to side, wanting to end the battle quickly so that she could finally get her orbs.
It took her but a few moments before the dragon started to crumble away. Khaldera landed on her feet, shook herself off of the blood and sand that clung to her, before she looked around. No sign of any other dragons wanting to jump in or bother her meaning that she was free to collect and admire her orbs. Giving a purring sound she turned to do just that, fetching the two Aiskala orbs, both of them shining beautifully in the sun light, "Wonderful." She murmured to herself before turning on her heel, heading back into the water.
Time to go find Kamau so she could let him know that things had gone alright and that she had two more orbs to put in the basket the breeder was carrying for her. Once that was done they would discuss where he was to wait while she headed on her way to where the ceremony would be taking place.
