[7 Yards]
The fog wasn't as bad as Leon perceived at first it still was difficult but not impossible. it still made him curse under his breath as he began to navigate and move feet travelling slowly across the uneven pavement. It looked like all manner of Natural disasters hit the area of Canada, complete with giant plant takeover. "Damn" he thought they had it bad at home base, the world itself looked like it was going to s**t in certain areas.
There was one of the civ's on the floor, sprawled out at an uncomfortable angle from what he could see, crouching down he could see the rise and fall of his chest. "s**t, this one is alive."It was tall but not incredibly bulky, the way his ribs were showing from the top, looked like a sign of undernourishment. The fingernails were chewed down, and he could see after bringing it up close that the nails were pitted, not enough nutrients to grow in properly.
It meant that he was probably going to be light enough to move. Leon took the time to hoist him over his shoulders. "Just like lifting weights." he said with a sigh, upset at how much the civilian weighed. They were right to call them in for rescue, except they needed rescuing a long time ago. Adjusting the pack, he began the trek back to the portal to drop the messy haired blonde in need of a shave.
Eventually, he made it back to the portal and on through, but there was no cold air, or rain, or pathetic outdoor patio furniture. it was a long expanse of road the loomed in front of him. with the wreckage of vehicles long since abandoned, and a few burned out from disaster. "Huh?" he asked aloud, repeating himself when the ground shook and trembled. a giant beast of black and vines was there on the path, with hands like tendrils snaking behind, grasping at air. it was imposing and he moved away a step. Unable to properly wield Nid, not while there was a chance that the civilian could get hurt from the chainsaw teeth.
It had no mouth from what he could tell, but the phantom phrase was heard, a horrible whisper, like nails on a chalkboard it spoke.
It is not natural for you to accept us?
The images of humans, civilians, poor souls etched in pure fear and dismay being to play like a collage of the demented past his eyes. impossible to shut his eyes too, no turning a blind eye. face and face continued till he was on his knees, shaking.
Oi, Meat head, get up. We still have work to do.
No image compared to the voice that already lived with him, the tether to his will that brought him back from the brink. there was still a cloudy feeling and the threat of the horrific sight while he was in its presence. So the life hunter took his stance with the prone body on his back.
and ran. Leon Ran.

Quote: 4. A somewhat new Jeep Wrangler. This thing is awkwardly huge, but at least it does its job. (SPEED VALUE +4) The beast moved with a casual gait, its stride was quickly gaining on Leon with ease. The buzzing was back in his head, with Nid screaming about 'gotta go fast'. It was time to be resourceful, use what was around and Leon as far as the eye could see, saw a lot of abandoned vehicles. There was a large wrangler with the window on the drivers side punched out, the back was still in decent shape, with enough space to lay the knocked out human down when he hopped in the drivers seat and turned the ignition. It took two turns, to deal with the stalling and it roared to life, with the beast in the rearview mirror he put the stick in drive and the pedal to the medal.

The car didn't have that much in the gas tank, but it tried to work, Leon gripping the wheel tightly a the beast lumbered forward and bashed his foot into the side of the SUV. It was a sickening thump and leon struggled to keep the car on the road, with the passenger in the backseat. He could only pray that the jostling didn't hurt them in any way. The new intel came in on his device as he made a note on where the new portal was opened from, beelining the car down the road and swerving past the pileups. There were so many cars, it made him wonder just what the hell happened when the skyscraper in the building exploded into a shower of thorns. "Well, that must have happened." he stated, getting an answer to his question. Quote: Speed value: +4 Distance: 9/ 10 Leon HP: 50 / 50 Justin HP: 50 / 50

Leon in his rush to get to the portal, cursed loudly when he overpassed it, turning the vehicle around to drive back to the beacon and their way out from the thing chasing and on his heels. "Freakin' hell." but the portal was there and it meant the rescue mission was almost complete. Quote: Speed value: +4 Distance: 17/ 10 Leon HP: 45 / 50 Justin HP: 45 / 50

Suddenly there was a pole in Leon's face, a long one with a fishing line on it. "The hell!?" he yelled out in surprise and struggled to keep his reign over the steering wheel when an arm slinked out the grab at it, hard turning to the left with a battle of wills. "I am nobody's dinner." was the only reply from the bleary eyed blonde that forced a turn and sent the vehicle into a roll. more sounds of glass breaking and Leon could thank the high heavens he had his seatbelt on. "Do you have a deathwish or something?" he barked into the back, un latching himself to witness the grossly underweight oaf climb out of the door of the vehicle and set out at a brisk walking pace from the vehicle.
The life hunter almost wanted to smack himself for counting the guy out. "Its not safe out there!" he could hear a strange hum begin when he scrambled out of the door opening himself, to number 6 yelling into a radio.
"Mayday, mayday! Someone's trying to kidnap me." He could hear the panicked words bubbling and Leon had quite enough of being called a kidnapper. A flick of the wrist and the chainsaw was in his grasp, causing blue eyes to widen even more with the look of sheer shock. "Sweet Jesus he pulled out a chainsaw-" the blunt end of the saw found the back of the smart mouth's head, the radio now in a scuffle and in the meaty palm of Leon and clicked off. "I'm here on a rescue mission, not to kill you, so keep your nipples calm otherwise ill have to carry you out of here with a concussion." he stated with a pained expression, already annoyed with his charge.
The blonde was just confused and tired and very weary. "Wha- where the hell did you come from?" exasperated and dropping his arms when the chainsaw vanished. Another question for the pile and judging from the stocky guys eyebrows, one that was going to remain unanswered. "Private infantry." was the only thing the rugged man would say about it upon picking him up again, the sensation was awkward once awake.
With a pressure point pressed, Leon knocked out the civilian again, he didnt want to answer any more questions, just to jump into the portal an-
Turning around, he found nothing but the open road ahead of him. no magical oval full of light r anything. "Crap." that said it all, the portal was gone.
