 Dax sat on the couch in the living room and slowly made his way through the stack of papers he had to grade. He sighed and took a moment to pinch the bridge of his nose and rubbed a few times. Looked like he was going to have to put a curve on this classes test, otherwise most of them wouldn't pass. He sighed, even some of his stronger students hadn't done well, which meant the test had been too hard, which meant he hadn't covered the material as well as he thought he had.
Teaching was such a delicate balance sometimes, and he hated when he realized he'd failed his students. Maybe it would be better to just do a new test and retest the whole section? Hmm...maybe...
His ear perked as he heard the clink of plates in the kitchen. Dinner must be almost ready if Sam was setting the table. He looked at his watch and smiled a bit, almost 5:30, which meant Sophie should be here any moment. Speak of the devil as he heard the door open and right on time, there was his and Sam's better half.

 The day had been difficult, that was for sure. She'd been mistaken for being underage so many times, and just wanted to escape back home where she didn't have to worry...Luckily, it was only a portal away, and soon enough she had slipped back into the safe haven that she and her boys shared. Sighing, she sagged against the door a little, rubbing her face with her paws. Maybe it would be best if she didn't talk about work today, she didn't want them to worry. Finally getting up, she set her bags aside and peeked into the living room at one of the two she called hers. Unsure what to say, or what to do, she gave a tiny squeak, ears perked with a tiny pout on her face.

Dax smiled as Sophie peeked into the room and got up and went over and was about to open his arms to her when he frowned instead. "Are you okay?" concern in his voice. He opened his arms anyway and tried to smile for her, worry starting to needle him just a bit. He hated when she looked upset, it broke his heart honestly. "Sophie? Dearheart?" he looked so worried. Was she coming down with something? It was cold up at Leviathan after all, even if she dressed warmly it wouldn't matter if her students brought something in with them. "If you weren't feeling well you didn't have to come down." he said. "We'd live another week." he joked just a bit but then shut up and waited for her response.

She squeaked a little when he opened his arms to her, scared he had already figured it out. The mention of it being cold though...did he think she was sick? She shook her head a little and made her way over to settle into the hug, resting her head on his shoulder. "I'm fine...Just tired." It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't the complete truth either. She was in perfect health, but at least now she'd have the weekend off to lounge in their apartment and spend time with her two most favorite people. "And I want to come down! I miss you both all the time...." There was a tiny pout as she looked up at him, cheeks flushing slightly as she straightened up, running her fingers over the fluff of her tail as she stood awkwardly. She wasn't even sure what to say now...considering what she'd been wanting to ask for so long...Would asking to move in really be that bad a move? Would they even want her there?

He hugged her tight leaning down slightly to encompass her just a touch, his tail curling around her protectively, although the movement was involuntary. It wasn't uncommon for his tail to seem like it had a mind of it's own, it was always tripping him or others up, or curling around things like his chair and making him knock things over. It gave him an air of clumsiness on top of everything else. "We miss you too, but still have to be concerned about your health, dearheart." he said letting her go and looking her over with a very soft dorky smile. He loved this little Imp in front of him so much.  "Did you say something, Dax?" Sam asked peeking out of the kitchen, his face immediately lighting up and darting over to scoop up Sophie. "Welcome home, Princess~!" without waiting, he laid a kiss on her and then set her back on her feet. "Been alright? Feeding you okay up at the uni? I made your favorite tonight." he said with a grin and a slight raise of his eyebrows, in what was definitely a flirty gesture.
He then frowned as he looked her over. "You okay, Soph?" he asked wanting to move back in and feel her forehead. "You look flushed.

She squeaked a little at the hug, though didn't make any move to step away, not wanting to hurt him by tugging on his tail. She worried that she would one day, especially with how possessive of her it seemed, and didn't want to see him wince or cry. Just when she was about to deny she was sick again, the other boy she adored swept her off her feet, laying one on her without hesitation. She barely had time time return it, cheeks flushing more as she shifted on her feet, still a little nervous. "I'm fine!" She waved her hands, flustered, "I'm not sick at all! I'm fine!"

Sam frowned by nodded. "If you say so, Princess. You just look a little off. Somethin' on your mind then?" he raised one eyebrow. "And if there is, is it a before dinner, during dinner or after dinner topic?" his tail twitched slightly behind him watching her. "I just ask because if we stand around too long, food's gonna get cold." he said with a slight pout. If there was one thing he hated it was food not being served at it's peak. It's why he'd gone through such efforts to get enchanted containers for his class that kept food at just about the consistency it should be at when it was served the first time. Granted even after a week it couldn't save some things, but it was as close as he could get all things considered. Dax just looked between Sam and Sophie, anything he might have said, Sam had already said at this point, and he was starting to get a little worried. Was she breaking up with them? He flailed a bit mentally at the thought of that. She probably did deserve better than him after all. Maybe another guy like Sam? He took a deep breath and mentally prepared himself for whatever came next.

"It's nothing important..." She shook her head, face still flushed. Maybe it would be better not to bring it up at all, she didn't want either of them to worry after all. Fussing with her hands, she finally decided to slip past them both and go sit at the table. Maybe it would be best if she just....after dinner? She didn't know. Giving an awkward smile back at them, she wrapped her tail around to rest in her lap. Dinner? Maybe?

A soft click came from Dax as one of his hands had gone to the other and started picking at the scales on the back of his hand. He looked over at Sam and the clicking started to get slightly louder. Was this it then? Was she breaking up with them!? Had they done something!? It was so sudden, he wasn't ready! Maybe it was just him, that would make sense. Sam watched Sophie and then sighed a bit as the clicking started. He reached over and got Dax to stop then followed Sophie to the kitchen and put his hands on her shoulders. "You're making Dax panic, Soph. Maybe for all our sanity, just say what you need to say?" he paused and leaned down on one side and looked at her face. "You're not breaking up with us are you?" he said with a slight teasing tone. "And if it's not that, just spit it out okay? You really want Dax to break another scale~?" he said before going over to the stove and bringing over dinner and serving it out.

The click made her wince. What had she done? She didn't understand! Wibbling as she looked back at them, and then up at Sam, shrinking a bit in comparison, she didn't know what to do! She didn't really think it was a before dinner topic, she didn't want to make the food get cold, but looking up with wide eyes, she finally felt horrified at what they thought. "No! Why would I break up with you two! I love you!" She whimpered, fussing with her hands, "I...I just...!" She chewed her bottom lip a little, unsure about giving in, though finally did. "I just...I want to move in with you!"

Dax followed Sam to the kitchen and took his spot at the table, his brain still not fully functioning and still partially panicking. He stared at the plate of food in front of him, his appetite severely diminished from his nerves.
Relief suddenly flooding through him as he barely registered that they weren't about to lose their Sophie, but she wanted to take things further. "Move in!?" his eyes widened significantly and a goofy smile graced his features. "Well, yes of course you can!"Sam set plates down and nearly dropped his own when Sophie finally spit it out. "Is that all!? Gods, Princess, you had us worried!" he laughed, tail swishing as he sat down at the table. "You know we can make room for you. Course it's gonna be hell of a commute for you, have to take a portal every day, or get the train...unless you're gonna cut back your classes to like two- three days a week so you can come home for most of the week and just stay up at Leviathan for a couple days." he shrugged. "But up to you."
He shook his head and chuckled. "Scared us, Princess." he waved a fork at her. "Gonna have to get you back for that~" he said teasingly.

Sophie didn't even know why they had thought she was going to break up with them in the first place! Why would she? She loved them more than anything! It hurt to see Dax so nervous, though she picked at her food guiltily, even after everything had been resolved. She had made them nervous, she was horrible! Regardless, at some point, she did manage to finish her plate, still mulling over what to do about her classes. Honestly the portal would be a good option, she could buy a pass and then never have to sleep alone again....hopefully. "I'll just buy a pass for the portal, I don't want to have to be alone..." She pouted just a little, setting her utensils down. "I don't want you two to have to be alone..." She was still rather pink, but just looked down in her lap a little.

"If that's what you want to do, Princess." Sam said with a smile at her. "We can both chip in and help you pay down the cost." he nodded and once dinner was done started removing plates to get dishes done. "Never be alone again." he leaned down and kissed her cheek as he bused her plate and went back to the sink. Dax's appetite had fixed itself once he'd been sure he wasn't about to be dumped. His tail snaking around and curling partially around one of Sophie's feet, careful of the spikes. Granted he kept them filed down but that didn't mean anything.
His mind raced along as he ate. Sophie wanted to move in, that was good. That meant their relationship was progressing and evolving. Also good. What was next though? Maybe a bigger place? They could definitely use one, and they could probably afford one. A bigger place meant they could accommodate kids...and then his train of thought derailed. He glanced over at Sophie. "So, this would mean our relationship is getting more serious, yes?" he drummed his claws against the table. "So...seems natural we talk abut something we haven't before but comes up in every relationship." the drumming increased just slightly and he stopped himself. "How do you feel about kids?" he asked.

"I can pay for it!" She squeaked, blushing as he kissed her cheek. "Let me pull my own weight!" Sophie didn't like feeling useless, she loved being able to help around the house and pay bills and that sort of thing! She knew she was their princess, but she still wanted to help! There was a bit of comfort in Dax's tail around her foot though. It made her feel safe, loved, wanted...Carefully, she let her own tail lay on his, giving him a bit more warmth. How had she ever gotten so lucky to have two wonderful men in her life? She looked up when he started talking though, tiny smile already on her lips. "Yeah...I thought it was already pretty serious, but...I want to live here with you two forever..." She murmured, getting a little shy. She did let him finish though, and her ears perked up a little, eyes widening as her cheeks flushed more. "B-Babies?"

"We don't mind helping though. Just a little bit, passes are expensive after all." he offered a small smile, and a shiver ran up his back as her tail flopped over his. Was a nice thing about having furry friend and girlfriend, their big fluffy tails to steal for warmth.
"Well we don't have to stay here, we could get a bigger place..." he said musingly.
He blushed a bit himself. "Well...yeah...something we have to talk about right? I mean do you want them? Not want them?" Sam nearly dropped the plate he was rinsing when Dax asked about kids. He managed to catch it and then gently lay it down in the bottom of the sink, ear cocked towards the pair. Kids? Wasn't it too soon to be asking about them!? How long had they been together. He did a quick count, okay maybe not, but even then.
He slowly picked up the plate again and put it in the dishwasher. It wasn't that he didn't like kids, he was just...afraid to be a father. He didn't exactly have the best role model to base his future possible career on as a dad and while Bao Tan was in some ways like a dad to him, it wasn't the same. He swallowed hard and hoped no one would ask him and fixated on cleaning up his kitchen.
