CLEARVIEW MAID SERVICE Early on, cleanup was of the utmost importance. There were undying intruders to be dealt with, former residents to bury, and chaos to bring under control through cleanliness.
These days, most of the messes that need to be dealt with are the everyday sort. Food spills, bathroom... mishaps, and general dust are the first things people lose interest in cleaning up, which makes them vital to keep on top of. If you've decided to take on some cleaning duties or have been assigned to do so, here's how you'll accomplish that.
Step One - Which Floor?
Generate a random number between 1 and 22. This is the floor that the apartment you'll be cleaning is on. You may choose which specific apartment to clean OOCly. As stated in the rules, there are nine apartments on each floor. They are numbered in multiples of 10, preceded by the number of the floor they're on. (i.e. 110, 120, 130 ... 2170, 2180, 2190.) The entirety of the 22nd floor is the penthouse.
If you're in a group, only one person has to roll for the floor you're on.
Step Two - Clean!
Roll 1d4. The higher the number, the dirtier the apartment. After you roll, you must make one additional RP post for each "degree of filth" in order to clean it. (Roll a 3, make three more RP posts, etc.) When you've made these posts, you're done! The space is clean.
If you're in a group, each member must roll for their own degree of filth.

She was frustrated, to say the least, and one of the most productive things she could do (at least in this apocalypse setting) while frustrated was to clean. A lot. So she stomped her way out of her apartment, cleaning materials at the ready, and went down to the 8th floor (after writing down numbers one to twenty-two, closing her eyes and pointing to randomize which floor she would attack). The first few rooms were spotless, but near the end of the hall she finally found...the one.

It was filthy, top to bottom pure dust and grime. It wasn't hard to believe that it was a room one could find in the apocalypse, but certainly it was rare to find something quite so unkempt inside Clearview Apartments. Not that she was complaining. She needed to scrub her problems away, and this was a great place to do exactly that.

It wasn't that she couldn't handle the problem. It was that she didn't know what the problem was, and so she didn't know what to do in order to handle it. It was sort of just a vague feeling of frustration, so vague that it frustrated her to the point or restlessness and irritation. She had started pacing in her room at one point, and when that didn't work she decided to clean. So there she was.
With the level of grime her usual method wasn't going to work this time, so she decided that a full dusting and wipe-down was in order, first and foremost. She worked efficiently, starting from the bedroom and moving in a sweeping sort of motion through into the bathroom, kitchen, then living room and back (for added cleanliness, she would say) until she was satisfied that she'd gotten as much dust and grime and filth as she could.

After that was the floors, so she moved all of the movable furniture into the bedroom and started going through, cleaning up what she could from the carpeted living room and bedroom, then the tiled kitchen, bathroom, and entryway. When she was done she replaced the furniture and took a short break, a little more relaxed but still unable to pinpoint what it was that was bothering her. So she headed back inside to do some more cleaning.

The bathroom and kitchen always got her extra attention because of how dirty they tended to be, more so than the living room and bedroom because of the added water factor. She did what she could and used a small amount of bleach to get rid of the build-up in the shower and in the sinks. She even brought something to help with the clogged bathroom sink, and when it was done she took another break to survey her work.
"Nope, not yet..." was the answer to her unasked question, and she dove right back into it.

The cleaning was relatively finished after she went through and dusted everything a third time, but she wasn't quite happy with the arrangement of things. She sat and flipped through a HGTV magazine that was in one of the piles of magazines and, with ideas she pulled from one of the articles, did what she could to rearrange the room.
As she worked her mind started to clear, more than when she was actually cleaning. Re-arranging required more thinking than scrubbing did, so it helped to distract her until finally whatever was on her mind that she couldn't quite place was gone and replaced by a sense of satisfaction upon finishing her work. A small smile crept up as she looked at the space. It wasn't anything impressive, but it looked nice enough. And certainly livable now.
What was even better was by the time she closed the door behind her and headed back to her apartment, she'd totally forgotten what it was that was bothering her that prompted her cleaning frenzy.
