Matilda stretched her arms and legs as she warmed up for some exercising. She was excited. It felt like it had been forever since she had been able to work up a sweat that didn't involve the infected or fearing for her life. She was here just to build some strength and endurance while having a good time.
The first step in her regimen was to do some push-ups. As she positioned herself on the floor, she belatedly realized she was still wearing a dress. Tucking a portion of it down to hide herself with a blush of embarrassment, Matilda started pumping her arms. Down, one. Down, two, Down, three...
Matilda fell into a familiar rhythm that felt incredibly nostalgic. It felt good to just relax and do some simple exercises. Before she knew it, she had already worked her way up to fifty push-ups. Standing up from her crouching position, the blonde looked around to see what she could do next.

Character's name: Matilda Baer Character's faction: University Character's journal link:X Character's survival stats:View Jersey Number: 4 BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF MY CHARACTER 5"3', slim, short blonde curly hair, narrow green eyes, age 29, English Teacher. - Eloquent, hard-working, resourceful, and somewhat athletic. Also pessimistic, strict, emotional when stressed, and holds grudges.
Next up was jumping jacks. It was a fairly simple exercise, but it was one that tested her coordination as well as her balance. Figuring she could easily do her jumping jacks in the same place as her push-ups, Matilda got started.
Up, down, up, down. She tried not to think about how her chest bounced while she did the exercise. Usually she would wear something a bit more supportive when she worked out, but she didn't have that luxury in her current predicament. She wasn't able to simply go home and change her clothes, what with the infected and undying roaming around every corner looking for their next meal. So, she would simply have to make do with what she had.

Matilda wasn't too keen on doing push-ups once more. She wanted to vary her work-out a bit more.

Spotting a small track running around the perimeter of the gym, Matilda began jogging, With every bounce of her pace, she felt like her anxieties were bouncing away. One step, two step. It felt so good to run for the fun of it instead of running for her life. She felt like she had done way too much of that as of late.
It made her wish for the old days, when she had been able to spend her weekend mornings jogging around the park. Sometimes she did it alone, sometimes there were others jogging along the same route. Sometimes they spoke, sometimes they were too absorbed in their workout or too tired to respond.
Falling to a stop, she felt a sense of longing well up in her chest to replace the anxiety that had been resting there previously. Perhaps she should find something else to do for now.

Figuring she should do a warm-down, she began walking around the track. Her mind began to wander to her days running track in middle school. She hadn't been the best runner, but she definitely wasn't one to fall behind during their monthly mini-competitions. She could usually place in the top five if she was having a good day, but she would rarely fall below eighth place in their twenty person team.
She stopped as tears began to well up in her eyes... perhaps she should stop here.
