As Rinko was exploring another section of the Hospital courtyard, a shuffling sound was heard behind her. Tensing, she looked around in case it was an Infected. Her sight saw nothing hostile nor allied, but a look down found a cute little black kitten trying to follow her, mewing to gain her attention. Rinko coos at the cute little thing, kneeling down to pats it on the head. The kitten playfully paws at her hand, before rolling over, coaxing Rinko to give it belly rubs. The little menace soon got Rinko wrap around it's paw with it's cutesy act. Rinko finds that she doesn't not really mind, finally finding something friendly in this hostile Fog & creepy Hospital.

Later, as she continue her exploration, trying to familiarise herself with the layout of the Hospital in case she needs to escape from an enemy, the kitten tumbles after her, mewing as it tries to keep up with the woman's longer strides. Rinko ends up having to pick up the little kitten, settling it on her shoulder. The rascal drafted itself across the back of her neck instead, purring as it shifts to get a better spot.

During a break, Rinko tried teaching it tricks. Using some food she has as encouragement & bait, she tries to coax the black kitten though the steps of a handshake. To her delight, the kitten was both eager & smart, able to get the trick down easily. It look smug as it chews on the food morsel it was rewarded for completing the handshake.

As she continue to play around with the black kitten, Rinko begin to notice it has a couple of strange defects her sight should not be seeing. Giving her pet another check over, her horror increases. A second pair of eyes growing on its back. An extra mouth, filled with a double set of sharp teeth protruding from its chest. Its belly cut open, yet no blood drips from the hole. Small claws swaying from the hole in its chest, trying to grip her fingers. The defects Rinko noticed got worse & worse, & the kitten slowly grows more hostile as the defects increase.

With a heavy heart, Rinko pulls out her weapon, ready to put her little friend out of its misery.

After striking the fatal strike that finally downed the mutated kitten, Rinko gathers up the body, wrapping it in a sheet of fabric she found in nearby, before setting the body on fire, in hopes that the kitten won't come back as an Undying. As she watch the body of her little friend burn, Rinko wipes both of her wet eyes, not noticing that her covered eye had dripped red tears of blood.
