Wataru hadn't performed in a long time.
Okay, he hadn't really been a big masquerades person in the past, either. They always seemed a little cheesy to him: he cared much more about his craft. He didn't like playing a part without a costume.
But it wasn't like anyone here had electricity, let alone access to their cable or Netflix subscription. So he didn't have anything to do, especially without access to quality cloth, or his needle and thread collection. This entailed...well, it entailed learning new hobbies.
"Hey," he said to his fellow residents. "Wanna see something I've been working on?"

It was plate-spinning. The thing was, Wataru had never known how to do anything remotely circus related. His college had had a juggling club, but that'd been years ago. And of course - well - Wataru hadn't been interested in it, then. He still wasn't much interested in it. But he also, you know. Lacked anything else to do. So he'd started grabbing spare plates and poles from the unoccupied apartments whenever there was time (not that plates were necessary for canned food, but, well - what else were they going to do with them?) and attempting to learn something with them.
But he was still quite new to the job, so to speak. He fumbled often, and he was fumbling now the plates spinning onto the ground and...
Urk. Was that a crack? How undignified.
