Renita had told Sawyer, one day, that she would take a look into how sturdy the barricades around their side of the building were. She still didn't think it was terribly likely that the infected would be able to scale the building as far as the fourteenth floor, but their very existence meant that unlikely could become reality very quickly. Even if they didn't climb directly up to their apartment, it was entirely possible for the creatures to get in on the first floor and find their way to a stairwell. The answer was obvious, then, she'd just have to check the state of the lower rooms' barricades and see to it that they were strong enough to protect her family.

Character's name: Renita Hayes Character's faction: Apartments Character's journal link:here Character's survival stats: here BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF MY CHARACTER Renita has thick, dark brown hair, cut in a medium length bob. Her eyes are brown. She stands at about 5'6" and has a curvy but relatively fit figure. Generally dresses modestly and/or professionally, with a love of sweaters.
It was a good thing she'd decided to have a look. The third barricade she checked was weak, and would likely fall with enough pressure from the outside. It took more than a little searching, but there were some old bed frames that had been taken out of some rooms at some point that she thought she could find a use for. She grabbed one of them and set to work propping it up to secure the other materials already in place.

She kicked at the bottom of the frame, trying to move it in further so that it would be most certain to stick where she wanted it, and then eyed the rest of the barricade. She was definitely going to be needing more of these, wasn't she? With a considering hum, she turned to make her way back to collect another piece of the frame.
The frame pieces weren't terribly heavy, but they were long enough to be awkward. Her arms were starting to ache a little where pieces of the metal poked into them. Just a little more and the barricade would be strong enough, though.
Shoving the next piece of frame into place, she made sure it was as sturdy as she could get it and then stepped back to survey her work. It looked...well, strange. But it would probably do its job. She nudged at them with her foot a couple times, in test, then nodded. Yes, that was probably good.
