For now though, she had to get this damnable collar off her neck. Unfortunately, she had to play by the rules in order to remove it. A quick trip to the ladies' room had revealed the thing to be near seamless. She could easily break it of course with some creative thinking, but... the flashing lights worried her. It did not take criminal experience to imagine what that might indicate.
Despite her predicament, Sawyer could not bring herself to play. The memory of what she had seen behind the main floor tainted the spirit of the game. Every time she so much as looked at poker table, the images came rushing back, and she wanted to vomit. She could get nothing up though. All her meagre stomach contents she had already deposited in the back hall. And on her clothes. Blood still streaked her face and jacket. She had not bothered to get cleaned up. Let that serve as a warning.
Pulling away from her thoughts and images of hellfire and gore, Sawyer turned her attention to the poor sods milling about the Casino. She had only been out for ten minutes but she had seen no sign of her fellow apartment dwellers. Their absence concerned her. She knew they had come with her (most everyone had been curious to see what the explosive display was all about), so perhaps they had been... disposed of. It was always tragic to lose a pawn, but she had brought her knight, rook, and king as well. If she had lost them...
As she circled around the edges of the casino, Sawyer spotted Oscar. She drifted past him however, and kept searching. She would have time to say hello later. For now, she needed to find as many as she could: including her most prized game piece. But where was she?
To say that Sawyer was concerned would be a lie, but... Oh, all right! She was concerned. She had grown up with Renita as a constant presence, and even if she lied to her on a daily basis, put on a two-faced farce to ensure that her true nature remained a secret, Renita was her foundation, her one place she could always return to. To lose her now would be... Well, it would be a life Sawyer did not want to imagine.
