After hearing the other high scores, Lease was determined to get something a little better than she had last time. It had already been several hours, probably well into the night by now, when they had been released back into the faction areas from which they came. She had been hoping for a little more, something a little more akin to actually going home after doing all the bandits' dirty work for them. (And they had laughed at them when they left too).
But no, here she was still, frustrated and annoyed. With nothing better to do, apparently, at night than to attempt a round of skeeball. Maybe she just didn't want to head back to Spencers just yet, or run into her store mates for idle chit chat - maybe she just wanted to leave them alone just in case things got awkward, they were dating after all. Being in the arcade just seemed like the best option.
And there was that whole high score thing. Lease pulled her hands from her pockets and stared down at the little 'start' button that blinked at her.

The balls cascaded down from their little tube thing and settled down for her to throw. Lease picked the first one up and gave it a little toss in the air before she let it roll up towards the little buckets.
It landed right into the 100. Right off the bat. Well, wasn't that a mood changer. Lease hummed, pleased with the results and attempted to replicate it.
It didn't go as planned and the second ball went straight into the 10.
The third ball went even more swimmingly. Right into the gutter for no points. She had fallen not so gracefully from that high of her first roll and could see that high score in her future slipping away before her eyes.

The next ball she eyed a little bit as it was pulled from the side of the machine. She squinted at it and almost dared it to go into the little area that wouldn't give her points.
She threw it, still glaring but adjusted her eyes back into their normal neutral stance as it jumped into the '30' bucket. Okay, she would be pleased by its efforts even though it was still costing her the highest score among the mallrats.
The next two balls also didn't do too badly with her, each getting a pretty respectable amount. Still not enough, though.

The last three attempts proved worth than she could have expected and Lease nearly almost kicked the machine in frustration. This was supposed to be something to get her to a somewhat happy place and she had gotten more gutter balls than she had the last time she played it. (And a worse score)
"Stu'i' sing..." she grumbled with her still pained jaw. Well, she at least got a good enough score to get 5 more tokens from those weirdos. Maybe she was close to getting a better outfit even.
