Although at first she had been alert, awake, constantly vigilant, after a fully month she was more lethargic about security. She still did a damn good job, but lately she'd taken to using the time for other things; things like teaching herself how to load a gun, journaling out the events that had happened thusfar and reading through Moby d**k yet again.
The first person who approached her took forever to find their card (it was tucked up into their hair- how did you even get a card into your hair??) and she spent the twenty minutes writing in her book about the vines. She'd been documenting them lately, ever since going up to the radio tower. She didn't want to be caught unprepared.

The umbrella checked out just fine. Rajni boredly waved her hand to the pale blue thing, not thinking much of it. She'd heard rumors of certain individuals carrying fake umbrellas, but if it was fake they wouldn't have had their keycard.
Unless that was fake too. Well then, the salute was going to have to suffice.

Their salute proved as much as their keycard and umbrella did. In fact, Rajni had to comment that they were a bit too into the salute. Whenever Rajni did it it was half-hearted, just enough to get in.
If she were to speak honestly, Rajni thought the salute was superfluous and an annoyance. An umbrella and keycard should have been enough.
Either way, Rajni waved them through. No need to keep them waiting any longer.

The next person that came through was a fellow named Bryan she'd run supply grab with before. He was a friendly sort, somewhat quiet like her.
Seeing as she knew him, she found no reason to make him take out his keycard and what not. Always the lazy attempt with Rajni.

Just like his keycard, his umbrella was spotless. She expected nothing less.
"Sorry to make you do all this," she consoled him. He waved his hands; think nothing of it. Good guy Bryan.

After Bryan's delightfully short exchange, she was very disappointed that the next girl took twenty thousand years to take out their keycard.
She just sat there and rubbed her temples. Soon ... her shift would be over soon.
