Not even a keycard. Rajni looked the person up and down with suspicion, not trusting them for even a second. She turned the person down, gestured them out the door.
There was kicking, screaming and general dischord, but the main guards- the big guys with big guns- easily took care of it for her.
And she was glad for it. All of this "us or them" (while she saw it to be necessary) unnerved her greatly.

Thankfully the second person had their keycard with them. He actually seemed a little nervous for some reason, but at the time Rajni thought nothing of it. She ran her hands over the smooth plastic, checking for the required features; things like name, apartment number, etc.
It was a short check and easy enough. Good. Rajni wanted more people like this.

Unfortunately they had no umbrella whatsoever. Now Rajni understood the previous nervousness, the awkward twitching.
With a sigh, she had to tell them to beat it. She couldn't keep making exceptions for people- the last time she'd done that, they'd gotten in with no umbrella or salute.
This was why she hated security duty. She hated the look of disappointment, fear, desperation in their eye.
She told him softly to go find another umbrella. There were plenty of them out there, and she hated to turn away an honest soul.

The very last person Rajni KNEW wasn't from the apartments. She could tell because he was wearing one of those university jerseys she'd seen on Justin and a few others.
She told them to get lost without a second thought. ******** scavengers.
