It looked like it was now time for him to up his game. He had been helping out all he could around the prison but he wanted to do more, which was why he had stepped forward and offered to help out with the security, but he hadn't really thought it would involve knocking corpses off of a fence. This was much worse than he had ever though. They stunk, they twitched and... well heck it was electricity darn it. Even a fool knows that electric fences are not a toy. With a grunt of disgust he started walking around, looking to see how many dead things were there for him to clean up.

Vayne gave a bit of a shudder as he heard a groan from a short distance away, but to his amazement, he didn't see any more than one of the fried suckers, the others were still staggering around trying to maul each other and anything else that came near him. One body he could handle.... wait... s**t.. metal piercings. This was going to be pathetically dangerous.
Vayne made a frustrated sound as he looked for something that may help him at least be partially insulated. He would be fried to a crisp if he came in contact with anything at this fence. This was a bum job, he had wanted to work on the security system, not that damned fence!
Vayne grimaced and gave a swift kick to the zombies face, which shockingly (No pun intended) worked! The zombie corpse went flying and he didn't even feel so much as a tiny spark run through him! He had done it, clean, simple and no injury to himself. With a grunt of joy, he turned from the body and started to head back to the main compound. He had not been hurt, he had done his job and there was no way anyone would be able to complain about how he had done it. Nothing was better insulated on him than his books after all.
He actually found himself humming as he went to report his job. This could have been much worse than it was.

Day two of Vayne checking the security fence.
Vayne was still not really pleased about the whole removing zombies from the fence thing. It was creepy as hell and no matter how you put it, there was a lot of danger involved. Some of the suckers still had a bit of a kick to them, with their arms through the fence as if to try and fry you along with them. He walked down his sector and took note of the fact that this time there were two. It seemed the day before had been a fluke and this time he was going to really have to work for his pay.
Wrinkling his nose at the smell of infected fried flesh, which really was enough to put anyone off of having a meal, he moved toward the two corpses. One had its arm out, just as he worried, the arm now hooked into the fence making it harder to remove.
The first zombie, was, as Vayne noted, jammed into the fence pretty good. The arm was twisted in just a way to ensure that no amount of kicking was going to set it free, he had to get hands on, and the results were shocking.... literally. He got himself jolted, the pain arcing through his body. "Son of a !!| Vayne leapt back shaking his hands and tearing up from the pain. That stung like mad. He cursed more under his breath as he finally managed to pry the sucker off, letting the crispy corpse hit the ground.
Now for the second one. This one was not as twined into the fence and a good swift kick took it down, just like the zombie from the day before. It went flying and landed in a heap. He then realized that the zombie he had removed the day before was two zombies fused together. Hnn, he had better report back about his error to the Boss. Still the mess was clear in his sector and once more little to no problems, other than the whole getting himself zapped thing. Ugh, that was a pain..

Cleanup day three:
Nothing like the smell of death in the morning to make you want to puke your guts out. Vayne strolled down the path that was leading to the fences and looked around. Lots of rotting corpse bits, vines seeming to encroach a bit mumbling shambling creatures. Yeah the usual mess that he found in these places. Seemed like last nights attack didn't leave many dead in his zone, which was a bit of a relief since he didn't really want to face much more of this crap.
The good thing was that he only seemed to have one crispy critter to deal with this day. He looked at the dead eyes and shuddered a bit. It looked like someone he once knew. Surely that wasn't true though, there were not many that he knew around here and if this was one of them... No no, best not to think of things like that. That would just cause mental issues.
Trying not to look too much at the roasted human remains he picked up a large stick. No point in risking another shock today, yesterdays was more than enough to put him off making heroic attempts while dealing with a high current fence. He may have gotten off lightly before, but he didn't want to try and see just how many volts he could take before he ended up like one of them.
Poking hard at the body, putting several holes in it while doing so he finally managed to prize it off of the fence sending it toppling to the ground. How many more piling up out there would it take before they started to climb over them and make their way into the compound? He used he stick to push a bunch farther out just to ensure that didn't happen on his watch, before heading back to report. This was getting grosser by the day, and certainly not very healthy for anyone.

"Hello fence... nice to see you again. Looks like it's just you and me. So... what shall we do today? Oh I know, I will knock some corpses off of you." Yeah it was getting to be that repetitive. Not that it was easy, or something to take lightly.
Vayne looked around, crinkling his nose at the smell of fresh ozone and death. Eww something here was very new. He didn't want to see it, but it is part of the job. The blond walked toward the fence scanning closer his eyes taking in the bodies.
SON OF A...... "Four of them.. .there are four of the freaking things?"
The first of the four zombies didn't seem like it would be hard to pry off of the fence. He looked at it carefully before using a stick to try to pry it away. Unfortunately it was a bit more snagged than the positioning let on, and he brushed the fence. Zap.....
"Holy crud..." He jumped back blowing on his hand and shaking it. The zombie fell off the fence though, so job done.
The second was like the first, zapping him again. He winced and danced around a moment trying to bite his tongue to keep from yelping. The noise would only bring more zombies over and make it harder on him. He jumped about a few moments then calmed down. This was so not fun today. Still two down, two to go.
Lucky for him the third slid off without issue, seeming to be just holding on by a finger. "hurrah.." He muttered bitterly, looking at the last one down the fence a way. It was crispy and curled into the fence. How did they get so bad so fast?
He went to the last body and took another zap to push it off of the fence. Wincing at the tingling that ran from head to do. The bad thing... was that it didn't really hurt anymore. He was getting used to it. Just what he needs a new kink...
Time to go back.

Sept 24
Another day, another dead body. Vayne gave a soft bitter chuckle as he walked along, swinging a stick. Someone had left the long stick near the cells, and he had borrowed it to use on the fence. Poking off the zombies was not going to be fun today. It was warm, not hot, so not stinky, but warm enough to make some of the infected a little squishy. He cringed internally and looked at the long fence line. Three bodies were there tangled in the fence showing just how terrible they could look.
He frowned one was a child, or seemed to be a child. Why would it be so close to the fence area? He wasn't sure if there had been homes or something around here, but if there were this was not something he wanted to think about.
Cleaning the fences was worse when he thought of the bodies that were tangled as humans at one point. He didn't like to think that way, so he pushed those thoughts back. Not human, they were zombies. If all went well he would not join their ranks.
The first body was a little crisp and came down in parts, the stick was useful for that at least, letting him wriggle it around and break the parts down. The smell was not at all nice though, so much for the heat being the only cause of the stench. He gagged softly and pushed the parts back from the fence before heading over to the girl.
She had been small, her hair was a light brown and she was wearing parts of what used to be a sun dress. The small face was caked with blood and offal, and her hands were still twitching a bit. Not nice at all. Vayne tried to be gentle removing the body but the dress was caught. He had to reach over carefully and tear the cloth, pushing the body back. A kid... The small zap that ran through him didn't even phase him anymore. It was just par for the course now, and the dark cloud he felt pushed all away. Poor thing....
The job was oppressing now. He just wanted to be done so he could go back inside, shower and think of something lighter. The last body was nothing to remove. It came away with no issue, and thudded to the ground thickly. He turned his back on it as soon as it was away from the fence line. Nothing to think of there.
The walk back inside was dark too, he just returned the stick and trudged down the hall to the showers. Maybe it would be good to call it an early day, skip dinner and just..
September 28 Welcome to dead man wonderland.. where all the dead things can get up and eat you, today's guest is Vayne from the prison district, he comes to you from a place he can hardly remember, his qualifications are non existent but he has been doing this for a short time.
Yeah, he was thinking that kind of s**t to himself now, he had been doing this far too long. Heading to the fence line he stopped and counted the dead... seemed that the magic numbers today were 4! Yes, there were four dead things in the fence and he was going to get all the joy of prying them down and tallying his own scores, cause that is the fun thing to do when you were surrounded by stuff that wanted to eat you.
Used to having issues with the bodies he tried to get off the fence, Vayne had gotten a little complacent, and made the rather massive error of grabbing one of the limbs, resulting in being blasted back a few feet from the fence, his hands crisped, and badly blistered. Yup, fence worked great... uhuh.. best to come back to that one.
The blond got to his feet and moved to the next body, pulling it down with much more care, the body falling onto the ground with little stress. Much better, he could live with this kind of work..
The next body gave him a small shock, which he was now able to go one without thinking of. Something about being jolted as bad as he had been that made the little shocks seem like child's play. He kicked the body down and moved to the last one, which like the ones before, came down fairly easy, not slowing him. It was going to be going back to the first that made him pissed off...

(re roll for crispy vayne... cause he got fried.)
Well he had been fried by that one sucker, and going back to get him off made him glare in anger. He didn't like at all that this one was so stuck onto the fence that he had accidentally grabbed the sucker to try and pry him off. He looked at his burned hand, pried the corpse down and actually drop kicked it over the fence again. He couldn't believe that the chunks had come through the fence, to this side and were in good range for him to do that.
The blond glared in disgust at the litter of corpse bits and spat out a few choice words before heading back to the camp. He needed to get something on that hand before it got infected.
Vayne walked down the usual paths to the fence, thinking about how he was going to have to, yet again, clean corpses off of the fence. It was one of those jobs where you wonder what you are doing, but know that there is little else you can do. He wanted to keep the place safe and when it came to that, the only option was to pull his weight and start cleaning up. It was kind of boring now though. So many of the infected, so little time, but this time at least it was a matter of only one of the ugly things holding on. He rolled his eyes a bit and headed toward it.
