Now this was a job Rajni could get behind. It didn't even matter to her that she had to carry a shitton of stuff past a giant hoard of undead. Communicating with the outside world was priority number one to her- letting some people know they were dying here.
And on that note, she had to wonder why nobody had come for them. In her deepest fears she worried that whatever was outside was worse than what was in here.

Thankfully, since she was more a sneaky sort than a brute it was relatively easy to sneak around the masses.
What she was left with was a giant tower, filled with connections and buttons and oh god so many things.
Seeing as there was nothing to do but press buttons, she started on the farthest left, beginning systematically.
"This is prerecorded-
Rajni yelped and snapped it off, running to the window. That thing had been loud as ******** and she was worried about the zombies noticing. Thankfully all was quiet and she returned to her perch, this time lowering the volume before doing anything else.
"This is prerecorded emergency broadcast. If you are listening to this, you are in critical danger. Find the nearest shelter immediately and hide until further authorities notify you. Do not attempt to contact local authorities. Do not leave your house. This is not a drill."

The next few buttons resulted in nothing but static.

Then a very soft voice. She stayed on that one for a while, hoping something would come through.
It didn't.

More quiet static.
She went to the window, checking again periodically for sign of movement in the zombies. Her luck was bound to run out at some point right?

Maybe just one more? And then another and another.
All empty. Rajni was beginning to get desperate.

"- supplies shipped in daily. We try to do it from the air but we don't have many choppers left. They will dwindle after a while. --- seven days --- then ----"
That one had Rajni rapt at the radio. Those supplies that airdropped in sometimes ... they were dwindling? Seven days- that was what the rumor held ...
The recording cut out and Rajni hissed. Dammit! She'd been so close that time. Any fiddling with the knob just gave more and more static. This wasn't a ******** game!

Almost manically she turned the knob, trying to get something, anything. She just needed to hear a voice. Despite her adamant denial of hope, she still had it because she was human and she was weak.
"-- you don't know me but I'm here to help you.
Rajni immediately sat up. The voice came so clear and was so direct. She barely remembered she was in a radio tower.
Don't listen to anything they tell you. They have it wrong. -- Listen closely. -- undying are not the problem. The thorns are. They cannot be destroyed.
What? How did they know? Rajni picked up the communication device and said, "Sir? Sir?? Are you reading me?" The voice continued, absently. She clamped her mouth after that, trying to listen, trying not to miss anything.
Avoid them -- contagious -- do not touch. -- spread. That's how the virus replicates.
The vines? They already had strict orders from Zelda not to mess with them, and everyone knew that they were dangerous. There was a reason they didn't explore areas with vines.
-- too late for you.
Rajni didn't realize she was holding her breath.
They will not let you leave."
"No," she yelped, slamming her hand down on the dial. Just because she was jaded didn't mean that was what she wanted to hear. That they were doomed, and that some other power was playing with their lives or something. Her brain couldn't make sense of it.
The yelp alerted the undying and Rajni cursed. She'd have to come back later. For now she needed to leave or she'd just be a part of their plan.
