gaia_crown [ OBJECTIVE 2: ]

- Scavenge the office building for supplies
OOC: You will need to scavenge the local office building (STAPLES) for supplies. Any information you discover within the building can be used for later.

[ Step 1 ] Each player must roll 4d10 in their post. Match your dice to the rolls below. RP it out in ANY order.

1. Your character finds a stapler. It doesn't seem very useful. It is still attached to an arm, that has long begun it's final stages of decay. Attached to the bracelet of the arm is a name. "R O R...." the rest is missing.

2. Your character finds boxes and boxes of receipts. It doesn't look very informative.

3. Your character turns the corner and finds one of the undying! They must remain quiet for a bit to avoid being caught. If your character wishes to fight it instead for some reason, the undying has 50 HP and does -5 auto damage.

4. Your character finds a stray cat. It doesn't seem very friendly.

5. Your character notices a strange room. It seems to be locked.

6. Your character notices a foul smell coming from the copier room. You notice that the copier has stopped running, but there are pages and pages of images that surround it. Each one depicts someone being brutally stabbed. It is difficult to look at.

7. Your character notices some booze! Unfortunately it is empty

8. Your character manages to find some loose change. Not very handy.

9. Your character comes across a disgusting sight - a half-eaten body. The smell is repulsive and causes you to involuntarily gag. The half-eaten face's eyeballs are still looking at you, darting back and forth, moving.

10. You come across several rats all clustered together. You don't want to know why.

[ Step 2 ] After your character is done scavenging, simply report your findings to one of the bandits. Your work here is done.

Mission Bonus: +1 random drink item. Pick it up here after dropping off the form below.
Faction Bonus:+ 1 bonus district point in your choice (drop off using the bonus district points form in your main faction info thread)
Difficulty: gaia_star

With what the Boss had told them it was clear what they needed to do. They had to make their faction look like the most useful and help out the bandits in any way possible. It was the only way to get the supplies they needed, and honestly the only way to survive at this point. They were running low on things and had to work together in order to get just what they needed. Diana knew this, but still she was wary working for people willing to attack others during a time like this. She didn't want to fight against the other factions, but that's what it had come down to. It was survival of the fittest and she was going to survive, injuries and all. After the flash grenade and everything else had gone off she had been left with a dislocated shoulder and unable to move her arm. Now she was trying to find anyone familiar, and even that was hard with everyone scattered. She hadn't seen Max around anywhere, and she really was starting to get worried about her van driver friend.

"Max? Max are you here anywhere?" she called out into the crowd. She had been preparing to go and raid a Staples, and she would have liked for the man to come along. Especially since he was very capable and much stronger than she was.

It's all good. Does the order above sound good to you? smile

It hadn't seemed like a good idea to him, this whole 'subdue the Harbingers' plan that everyone was on board for. Max felt a little bit vindicated that things had gone so poorly, even though his head was killing him and he was completely frickin' blind. He had taken his time getting back on his feet and subduing his panic once he had regained consciousness, and now he stood calmly in the middle of a loud, slightly manic crowd, wondering just how he was going to endear himself to these people when he had no idea where he was meant to go. Weren't his other senses supposed to sharpen when one was taken away? All he heard was...

"Diana?"

He shuffled toward her voice, trying to appear as though everything was normal. "I'm here."

Relieved to hear his voice Diana made her way through the crowd until she finally spotted him. She just had to act cool and pretend her arm was fine. Yeah, that'd work. She really didn't want him to figure out just how injured she was, especially with what she was going to suggest they do. She would much rather go scavenging than pick a fight with an undying in her state right now. It was best if she suggest the safer of the two, at least until she was feeling a little better.

"Are you okay? Any injuries?" She questioned, trying to look him over for wounds. "It was a bit crazy with all those grenades going around. I'm just glad to see you safe. Maybe now that it's a bit more settled we could try to go out and scavenge for supplies or something?"

Max also considered hiding his injury, but the thought only lasted a moment. The trail of blood drying down the back of his head and neck would broadcast that something had happened the second he turned around, not to mention the fact that he was bound to trip over something if he tried to walk more than three feet in any one direction.

"I can't see a thing," he admitted. "Just so it's out there. The grenades knocked me down, and I was an easy target for someone with a pipe or crowbar or something. I'm glad I can still think, even if it hurts like... well... like I've been beat over the head with a crowbar. You okay?" He lifted his arm with the intention of clapping her on the shoulder, but dropped it again before he got halfway there. No use flailing around if there was no need. "I can't believe we're meant to impress these idiots now." He scoffed. "Sorry. Yeah, scavenging would be good. Maybe we'll find something we can use to fight."

"So you can't see anything? Not even right in front of you?" Diana asked, hand waving in front of his face and nearly smacking him in the nose in an attempt to test his vision. If he couldn't see at all that was very bad, and she wasn't sure she'd want to put him in any more danger than he already was with no eye sight. Then again, she really wasn't much better off with her state she was in. Stepping behind him, she tried to get a better look at his head wound. It did look fairly bad, and she could see blood still sticking to the back of his head. Her poor van driver had been beat up by the nasty bandits worse than she had.

"Should you really be going anywhere while blind, Max? It hardly seems safe."

"Well, sometimes I do get hazy... flashes, you could call them?" It was why he wasn't in a full blown panic. If he remained calm and pressed on, Max was hoping that everything would turn out all right. Even though he couldn't see, he could tell she had waved something fairly close to his nose and he huffed out a faint laugh in reply. "Don't go smacking me around just because you can."

He held still as she presumably walked around behind him, feeling confident that if no one had run into them yet, that no one likely would. "I probably shouldn't, no. If this was two months ago, I would be off work and on pain meds. But two months ago, this wouldn't have even happened, so..." He shrugged. "We need supplies more than I need to lie down."

"I guess if you're certain then I won't tell you no. I'll just have to be your eyes and you can be my left arm," she chuckled, sliding her hand into his. He was right of course about them needing supplies more than anything, but it didn't stop her from thinking it was a bit of a bad idea for him to be moving around. She'd just have to make sure nothing happened to him. Tugging him along gently, she wove them through the streets attempting to avoid any undying around. The store wasn't too far off, so luckily they didn't have to be outside long. It was very run down looking and seemed like it had been looted at least a little bit. There were a ton of rats gathered by the entrance, and she didn't really understand why. Probably not for any good reason.

"We're about to head into the building. Lots of nasty rats grouped up, but I can't really tell why they are," she attempted to explain, hoping it would give him a general idea of what she was looking at.

"Sure, I can do that." He smiled as he took her hand in return. The buddy system. Just like kids in school. Only kids usually didn't have head injuries and arm... things. "What happened to your arm?"

He followed along as they entered, brushing shelves and boxes near the door with his free hand and trying to determine what their contents were by touch alone. One of them felt like it was filled with nothing but little tickets or receipts or something, which was weird at best and useless in any other case. Not as weird and useless as piles of rats though, he would give her that.

"All right, you win. Why rats? Is there any food around?" Keeping his hand clasped with hers, Max reached into the deepest recesses of the nearest shelf and pulled out a stapler. A stapler that was much heavier than a stapler should have been. He touched the cold, rubbery thing it was attached to. "Do I want to know what this is?"

Turning to glance at what Max had mentioned, Diana nearly gagged at the sight of it. Maybe that was why there were rats around. The poor person never stood a chance it seemed, especially in an unprotected place like this. Hesitantly looking over the arm she spotted a bracelet.

"R-O-R...? Maybe Rory or something. Either way you should probably put the stapler down, sweetheart. You really don't want to know what is attached to it." She hadn't wanted to see it, but this was one of the horrors they had to face now. "It may explain why the rats are around so much, but I'm still not too sure. Let's keep looking and see if we can find anything else. Heading down the hall she panicked and stumbled into Max as a blur came running out in front of her. Steadying herself she tried to follow after it, tugging Max along behind her. It had ran under a chair in the furniture section, and upon closer inspection it seemed to be just a very angry cat.

"Oh good at least it's not-" her words were cut short when she heard a moan coming from around the corner. Oh please don't let that be what she thought it was.

It was the luxury of not being able to see the thing that made him want to joke, or at least that's what he told himself. Max could guess what was at the end of his stapler from the things she said, but rather than recoiling, he had an urge to dance the thing around in an impromptu Addams Family parody. He hoped this wasn't the first sign of insanity.

He continued down the hall rather confidently with her leading him, but when he heard something race by and Diana stumbled into him, Max took in a sharp breath. "What was..." he began, going silent at nearly the same time she did. He didn't question the source of the moans as he took a couple of steps back, pulling her with him. "Where can we hide?" Max whispered. He knew neither of them were in any shape to fight.

"Over here, under the desk," she whispered, pulling him along as quickly as she could and trying to stuff him under the desk. It was a tight squeeze for both of them, but she hoped it was enough to keep them hidden so they didn't have to fight. She'd bumped her bad arm against the desk when she'd been scrambling and now the pain was all she could focus on for the moment. She needed some painkillers really badly, but that wasn't exactly something she could get at the moment. Diana pressed up against Max's side trying to hide herself more, but even then she didn't know how effective doing so was. She was a bit nervous and scared, but she couldn't let it get to her. Not when Max was relying on her to be his eyes.
