Another day well-started, another bit of exercise. Shaun was proud of himself for remembering to go to the gym as much as he did – it was much better than doing his exercises on the cold, hard floor of his cell.
He stretched – the only way to keep up his incredible flexibility – and warmed up – the only way to not hurt himself. He almost wanted to take 'too' long stretching... it had always felt good to him, even when he'd first discovered its wonders when he was little. The pain stopped if you just kept doing it. The tendons realigned if you just let them.

But he knew that eventually he would actually have to run on the machine. So, he did. He hopped on and started running. At first, things were all right, but then they weren't – the machine started to go too fast for him, enough that it took all his strength just to not fall off the machine. Finally, that strength let out – he fell off the machine onto the floor, grimacing in pain as his body complained at the abrupt collapse. It took him a few moments to summon the will to get up and turn the machine off.
Someone had been on this machine before him, someone with better running strength than him, and had left the machine on with very high settings. That, or it was a really unpleasant prank. Shaun grimaced and sat down to rest, not happy at all. He'd been looking forward to a good workout, something he could do without too much trouble, something good for him.
But no, apparently not today.
He glowered at the machine.
Either someone is better at running away than I am he thought dourly, Or someone is an a*****e. he thought back to his 'friend' in the laundry room the other day and wondered if it might be very likely to be the latter. If I find them he thought, I should teach them respect.
Yeah, respect, that thing that was so important in the Prison. Did he even have any? Shaun didn't think so, and that was why these... errors... happened. He stood up, stretching some more to ease the new aches. I guess I need to earn some.
