If you choose to explore the sound, you find that it is one of the escaped tarantulas, and it hat has managed to knock over a display of cardboard onto itself. One of its legs has been crushed already. It is an ugly thing, as big as your hand and covered in hair, but it is a creature trying to struggle and survive, just as you.
It's late, and through the roof the moonlight weakly shines, illuminating it almost mournfully. You could leave it to die. You could put it out of its misery. Or you could let it free, to roam. There's no point in keeping it: there's no way to trap food for it, and it is an apocalypse.
If you choose to save it, know that it will perish within 12 IC hours of natural causes, no matter what you do.
What do you do?

It was hard enough getting good sleep, never mind any sleep, so when Andrew was startled away by some kind of noise suffice it to say he wasn't all that...happy. He groaned at first, tried to ignore it, but when it simply droned on he finally got out of bed.
"I'm gonna go punch someone's face in if that's a someone," he muttered sleepily as he headed out of the Spencer's that he called home.

She was blissfully warm, snuggled up against Andrew's side, when she heard a noise. Leiah grumbled and rolled over, attempting to cuddle closer but sadly she was denied warmth and had to get up since she couldn't leave Drew to go scout on his own. She would feel bad and not to mention she'd feel like the worst douche-bag ever. She hastily grabbed her notepad and pen, following him with a look of concern.

Lease's eyes popped open in her little IKEA tent thing and stayed fixated on the roof in a glare. There were a number of possibilities here, ranging from horrible to annoying; though so many of them would probably end up being annoyances. It was tempted to just try and curl up back to sleep. She had her pillow, she had her stuffed animal and her barricade was up and seemed super effective.
But there was that nagging feeling like she should woman up and go to see what it was. Especially after that whole bandit fiasco. (But what if that was just like that? But the call seemed too inside the house). Maybe this would be a good time to prove herself.. to herself.
Grabbing her makeshift mask and a random object - a bar to one of the shelves and began to make her way to the entrance of the barricades store front. Two other people were leaving it as well. Wait.
Wait. "Wait, you guys are in here too?" How did she never notice them?!

"Woah!" he started when Lease came up to them, half-asleep and carrying what looked like a makeshift weapon and mask. He blinked at her curious; the lighting was terrible so it almost seemed like he was hallucinating. But she talked...so he squinted and, after finally convincing himself she was real he nodded.
"Yep, set up shop in the back," he answered, then pointed to the tent just behind her. Well...there's no place like home?
He skipped the smartass-ish comment and instead posed a more serious question. "Did a noise wake you, too? I think it came from over there..."

"!!!!!" Leiah jumped when Drew did, not undersanding why until she saw Lease coming towards them with a makeshift weapon and mask, looking extremely scary. Maybe she was having a nightmare like that stupid Five Nights at Freddy's 4 game? Well, it would've been true...If it wasn't for the fact that lease's shape seemed very human and non animatronic also way less teeth thank god.
That game still gave her nightmares.
Still though, how could she NOT notice the tent was beyond her. she scribbled down in her notepad, hoping they could see it.

She blinked owlishly at the pair of them, apparently still not fully awake enough to be properly offended by their reactions to her. Responses she could do, and she looked back to where Drew indicated and gathered as much as she could - they were further in the back than she was and probably took a different aisle to get there. The store was big enough, schedules off enough that it was possible for them to miss one another.
All this time.
Whatever. At least they hadn't been annoying or anything. Though, they got a dubious look. Were they together or something?
Lease glanced at Leiah and her notepad and squinted at the words. Okay, she also wasn't awake enough to read either. All she got was 'sorry' and 'hit in the face anytime soon...' "She not talk?" And pointed at the other girl.
"And yeah, that noise woke me up. Better not be something that can beat us up... I'm not in the mood for more blood..."

"One of those bandit bastards broke her jaw with a bat," he answered, clearly irritated at the memory. The best new they got from it was that the supplies were okay, but other than that it'd been a pretty shitty "event." "It better not be, I've got one hell of a bone to pick with those guys."
He started walking toward the front of the store, happy to let Leiah hang back if she would sit out of some of the more dangerous things--she usually said no--and took a peek into the outside world. "No one," he started to say, until the noise started up again.
He scrunched his brows at the other two and started walking toward it. "What in the hell...?"

Not one to be left behind, Leiah quickly walked behind them, keeping an eye out. She tried to smile at Lease but failed miserably, taking a deep breath. "Noth brothen....Dislocathed. Raindeer hath..... gaiii snapth it back together...justh hurths tooth talk..." God that was hard, but at least she didn't write on the pad so maybe she heard her instead? Leiah couldnt see past Drew, so she squeezed by, squinting at the direction the noise came in, creeping closer. She had her vibrator ready just in case she needed to throw it at a b***h...

Oh from what happened yesterday. Lease made a face and tried to give a sympathetic smile to Leiah as they made their way over to where Drew figured the disturbance had come from. "Don't have to try to talk on my account, not forcing you to anything.. just know its way too.. sleepytime to read.." Leave it to a man to hit a girl with a baseball bat. Thank goodness the others managed to make those ******** go away.
Lease stared at the heap that the trio had stopped at. It looked like a bunch of cardboard had been knocked over but no culprit seemed to be in sight. Something was wiggling though, or at least just moving a few pieces about. Had something gotten trapped? Daring a step forward - it seemed small? - the teenager used the reach of her makeshift weapon to pop part of the display up.

He walked over to where Lease was, though he glanced back toward Leiah to check and make sure she was still there and hadn't wandered off. Useless worries, considering they were inside a store, but hey. When he saw her silhouette he moved his attention back to the thing Lease pointed out and...made a face.
"Gross..." He hated spiders. He wasn't scared of them, but he didn't like them either. He didn't feel all that bad that this one managed to get stuck, and if anything he was more annoyed that it woke the three of them up at all. So he made the suggestion, in case any of them were willing to be a little more inclined to pity and just put the thing out of its misery.
"Volunteers to smush the thing?" he asked, eyes moving from Leiah to Lease and back.

Leiah seemed like the only one excited as she let out a small squeek of excitment. A TARANTULA!!! She smiled back at Lease, shaking her head. No need to apologize, she didnt know after all...At the meantioning of squishing the poor defensless thing, Leiah did the only thing she could.
She scooped up the injured spider and held it as close as she could.

Despite being a teenager of the internet and claiming no hatred of spiderfriends, Lease kind of had a thing against the little ones. But, oddly enough looking at the tarantula, it didn't seem as terrifying. Maybe it was because of the size? Or at it was fuzzy? It was kind of like a really small and weird eight legged kitten.
"Nah, don't think it has to be squished." She wasn't going to touch it though. "Looks like a leg was mangled."

So maybe he was the weird one for wanting to squish it.
He shrugged and leaned casually against a sturdy portion of the barricade, nodding when Lease stipulated that the spider was not allowed to roam freely. "Cage that thing, babe," he said, making a face. "And don't keep it near the bed. Or even in our little area back there. I'm not dealing with that thing crawling over any of my stuff."
Besides, they had other things to worry about, they honestly didn't need a pet spider. "Personally I say we let it loose, let it fend for itself out there. We've got our own stuff to keep together, we don't need anything extra on our plates."

While Drew had a valid point, Leiah took one look at the spider in her hands and sighed. She couldn't let it die out there, all alone...At least if it does die [which she hopes it wont], it wont be alone when it goes. She'll be here for you spider friend! She beamed as best as she could at the both of them, tempted to hug them both, but not while she had SLAT in her hands.
Leiah looked around for a small box, finding one and placing the spider in it. She would cut some bars out and whatnot so he could see and what not, but for now, this would have to do...She poked some small holes in the box though and taped up the top so SLAT wouldn't creep out. once her firend was secure, she smiled and got on her tippy toes to give Drew a kiss on the cheek. She wanted to hug Lease, but didnt know how to go about it so she spoke instead. "Thanth youth! I'd....Hugth youth if I could!~"

Good, it seemed they had all come to terms about the new little pet that would be joining them in Spencers. And Leiah seemed especially happy about the whole thing (poor thing did get her jaws cracked).
"Its.. okay, you don't need to hug me. Just keep an eye on it, okay?" She told the girl, raising a hand to signal it was alright. "How are you going to feed it though? Don't they eat like bugs and small things? Don't think I've seen anything like that around here..."
