With the hole patched up, resources scavenged, and most of the necessary stuff done, Aaran felt pretty accomplished for the days work. He was sure there was other stuff to do but for now it could wait, he needed a little 'pick me up' And so he had found a vacant couch, he commandeered it for himself and without a care, flopped onto it and was asleep in moments, mouth slightly open with tiny kitten snores. Because even if there had been a huge hole in the wall, he thought it prudent to get some rest before anything else happened.

Rajni also happened to be in the lounge, sitting in a chair beside the sleeping surfer. At first it had bothered Rajni having to be in such close quarters with so many people, but after a while she had almost needed the proximity of others. With everything so quiet, it often got unnerving sitting in her room alone.
She said nothing, didn't wake him didn't touch him. Just read her Moby d**k (again) and waited for the next inevitable infected attack.

Aaran's kitten snores soon stopped, his eyes fluttering open and looking blearily around his surroundings. Nope, everything appeared normal, and there was no screaming. He could sleep some more.
He went to roll and continue on his nap, but noticed Rajni had taken a seat next to the couch reading a book, and he could of sworn he had seen her read it before...
"Enjoying the read?" He asked sleepily, rubbing one eye.

Rajni wasn't sure she'd heard him at all for a moment. Then realization kicked in (oh he was talking to her).
"It cures boredom," she said with a shrug. She knew of Aaran only from a few supply runs. Not enough to be friends, but enough to know he was one she didn't mind.
"Enjoying the nap?"

"Totally. We don't get many chances to just sit back and sleep anymore." He stretched, sitting up to lean on the sofa arm. "Makes for good stress relief too. Everyone should get more sleep. It's rad." He paused to get a better look at the book she was reading.
"Is Moby d**k your favorite? I'm sure I've seen you read it before."

Another noncommital answer from Rajni. "Not sure it's my favorite. Only book I have. Reread it a few times now."
Now that Aaran was more awake, she shut the book (folding the corner of the page to remember where she was. Kind of pointless, since there were about 10 folded corners now) and leaned forward on her chair.

"It's the only one you have? Dude, thats not cool, how come?" Although he could probably guess half the answer already, since they had to ditch everything when they ran for their lives.
"Well we can't have you only having one book. How about we look for a few more?" He stood up, stretching his muscles some more. "Theres gotta be a few books lying about the place. Come on, lets go for a walk"

Rajni gave him a look because seriously dude use your brain why do you think she only has one book-
She sat up a little straighter, but didn't move to get up. "I'm not risking lives for a book."

Aaron didn't want to use his brain he just woke up okay
"We wouldn't have to risk our lives." He reasoned. "we could just look around the apartments. Most of them have been abandoned. Some of them could have books inside."

"You're bad at this," Rajni chided, but she was standing up and stretching. She could use the exercise anyways. Rajni had a thin layer of flab all the way around (which she affectionately referred to as "more to love") so it was going to be a lot of breaks and wheezing, but she was game.
He was good company anyways. "Lead the way."

Aaran didn't have much flab. Actually he didn't have any at all. A month of restricted food intake would do that to you. "Aww, am I really?" He pouted, joking, then walked ahead of the girl. "Yes man, I'll lead us to some good reading."
Although he didn't have any idea where to start, so he just walk down the hallway and towards the stairs, going up a few levels. "Hmm, I think some of the rooms up ahead haven't been used, so they might hold something good."

By the fourth floor Rajni was already doing that thing where you're breathing heavily but you're trying to make it look like you aren't breathing heavily. She was very grateful when they split off, opting to search the hall instead of going up the stairs again.
"Yeah? ... Okay ..." She waved at him to start where he wanted. She would just follow behind and pretend she was more in shape than she was. It didn't help that she was running low on water and had been slightly dehydrated the past few days.

Glancing back, Aaron could see the girl was looking pretty tired from climbing all those stairs. "You okay? Want me to give you a piggyback ride?" A cheeky grin, then he moved down the hall while he waited for her to either agree or decline his offer.
He could see some doors were closed, trying a few but finding they were locked. Aaron wasn't about to start kicking doors down, so he went into a opened room and looked around. It seemed pretty clean for a apartment, apart from the settled dust, though he couldn't see anything in the way of book shelves.
"Find anything?"
