Mental Assessment:

The prisons are one of the safest places to live in during the event; but those in charge want to keep it that way. This means making sure anyone who's lucky enough to be staying in a cell should be mentally equipped to handle what's in store for them. The first test any prison faction member has to go through is psychological testing; we're already filled with former criminals, it's too dangerous to ignore. The world outside is life-threatening enough; the last thing we need is insanity killing us from the inside, too.

These tests can be taken once daily while still in civvie stage of membership. This consists of one Rorschach test, and one simple ethics question. You can only do this test 10 times total, and you cannot pick the same Rorschach twice - nor can you pick the same ethics question twice. You're allowed to choose which ones you do, or if you'd rather roll for them, they are numbered from 1-10, simply roll 2d10. Just make sure you pick different ones each time.

You can do both in one post, or use separate posts for each - but you must have a word count of at least 100 words for each part, either way. Your internal dialogue can be as crazy or murderous as is canon for the character, but it would probably be best not to say you see yourself killing someone in the Rorschach test, if you want to move on to the next stage. (AKA, lying is OOCly totally allowed/encouraged).

What if my character sees nothing?
-This is a perfectly valid response, and yet will obviously give you issues when getting to 100 words. Thankfully, the psychologist who is administering these tests is very insistent. You are allowed to roleplay having an argument with the psychologist, whose only response to your problem is to try harder. He tells you to twist it. Turn it. Let your eyes unfocus. He will give your character every possible generic advice on how to see something, and they may still not see anything - but at least this will give you enough fodder to use for the roleplay.

Is there a right answer to the ethics questions?
-There is never a right answer for ethics questions such as these. You are an individual, and will react in different ways to different things. We will not judge or expel you for being scared. We're all scared. We will not judge or expel you for your answers if they reflect that fear. There are no right answers, but there are wrong answers. Those are the only ones we will be looking for. Answer carefully, and remember that our faction rewards respect and safety.

Ethics Questions Answer a different one each time.

1. You must choose between saving the life of another faction member, or obtaining a box of bottled water. You cannot do both. Which do you choose, and why?

2. You disagree with a rule that your faction has expressly stated. How do you react? Do you do nothing? Do you try to make change happen? If so, how?

3. Someone has said something against your particular choices in life. Do you confront this person? How does the interaction proceed?

4. Another faction member that you have not yet met is being beaten to death. How do you react?

5. Another faction member has destroyed something precious to you. How does this make you feel?

6. How would you feel about killing another faction member if the person was a danger to those around you / infected?

7. Were you loyal to any person / family / group / religion in the past, and if so, will this impede your ability to be loyal to your faction now? If not, do you feel like loyalty and respect come easy to you?

8. Do you feel like the prison faction is the right choice for your new life? Explain why or why not.

9. Your past records have been washed away. This is a brand new start for everyone here. How does this make you feel?

10. You have been forced to share a cell with someone you dislike. How do you react?

"You look nervous." the psychologist observed as she sat across from him in one of the hard prison plastic chairs. "This is standard faction procedure, nothing to worry about." He said, but there wasn't much empathy behind it. Candice picked at the cuff on her sleeve while the man shuffled around some papers.

"Candice," he started and swiftly pulled a piece of paper from his stack and placed it in front of her, 'tell me what you see."

"aaaaa..." she started, unsure what she saw. Candice toyed with images she found in the ink. First it was a dragonfly, but not a normal one. It wasn't right. Then, after staring at it the image warped.

"Just tell me what you see. There are no wrong answers. It is different for everyone." He offered, still staring at her.

"Well at first I saw a dragonfly, but a warped one. There are too many wings. Then the wings reminded me of a rib cage and then I couldn't unsee that." She sat up straight. Did she sound crazy? She should have just said dragonfly and stopped there. She didn't want to lie though.

"Very good." was all he said. "Now I'm going to ask you a question. Remember I want honest answers." He tapped his pen against his clipboard several times before meeting her eyes again.

4. "Another faction member that you have not yet met is being beaten to death. How do you react?"

Candice took a while to find her thoughts. That depended on a lot of things, but then again it should be simple. "I'd help." she said, sure of that at least. "I don't feel like the same rules exist anymore. We have the faction to guide us, but it is almost like a clean slate, or at least that is the idea." she was mostly talking aloud now, "so it shouldn't matter the situation. That's how it was as a corrections officer, you couldn't pick sides, you just stopped the fight. I would help. I'd try and stop the person or persons beating on the other one, and then make sure they were okay." She was at least sure of this. She tried desperately not to factor in the infected, that would, has changed everything.

"Thank you Candice." He said, offering her a nod as he jotted down some notes.

[9/19]

"Good to see you Ms. Wolf." The same psychologist from her previous visit at at his desk, the same clipboard in his hands. "Just a routine follow up. This will be relatively the same as last time." He said. Candice was at least happy he was getting straight to the point. She figured these psychological evaluations were probably even more important with the new leadership announcements, so she'd have to make sure she sounded good.

"Remember you cannot give me a wrong answer. What do you see in this one?" he asked and placed a different inked paper in front of her. This time she picked it up to examine it closer.

It looked like a skull, which was unfortunate. Even worse a skull with horns and tusks. She'd sound crazy if she said that. She had seen ribs in the last one did she have some obsession with bones. She supposed if you were a pile of bones at least you would actually be dead. That was better off than some people. "It looks like a beaver." she finally said, and it did. "There are it's big front teeth and ears, not sure about the black stuff on the bottom, a half eaten log?"

She looked up at him expectantly. What if he could tell she was lying. She really wasn't, it did look like beaver too.

He nodded, jotted down more notes and asked "Do you feel like the prison faction is the right choice for your new life? Explain why or why not."

She gripped the edge of his desk. Would it be better to be honest, or to side with the faction? "I...uh...well I worked here before and I know the place and the Warden, so I don't feel it is a bad fit for me." She hesitated to say more but he looked up at her, "go on" he encouraged.

"Well it is odd living with the ugh former inmates....I'm hoping to find my place here is all." She ended, it was mostly the truth, she just chose not to say everything she felt.

"I see." he said. "Very good, have a nice day Ms.Wolf."
