Candice needed to keep busy. She had just recovered from her morning run in the yard when she passed by the gym. Keeping in shape seemed smart, but would it be enough when it came down to it? At least she'd try. If it came down to it, she'd run as far as she would have to to survive.
Her muscles were already pumped but she knew not to skimp out on warm-ups. She also knew she should have taken a break, but a more thorough workout couldn't hurt right?
Wrong. Candice should have waited, but she was still feeling the adrenaline from earlier and started right into some ankle bounces to warm up. She landed weird and snapped out a curse as she bent down to feel the throbbing foot. She waited a moment before testing her weight on it. It still smarted, but she'd live. Candice had already made her mind up so she'd continue with her plans, even with the twinge in her ankle.
She stayed toward more stretches than anything else for the remainder of her warm-ups.
