Quest #2: Establishing a Personal Base: Description: Malls are big, and there's more than enough room for every Mall Rat to make their home there, and your home can always use improvements! Collect some supplies, find a safe space to sleep through the night, and, well. Make yourself at home away from home.
Goals:
Step 1: MAKE IT HABITABLE.
You as a survivor need to find something that will work as a bed, something to store your personal items in, and a way to get some privacy for changing. (No washrooms, because no store in the mall has enough space to dedicate an employee-only bathroom). That and people keep taking your furniture to help reinforce the barricades... Looks like it's time to replace everything again.
Roll 1d10. If even, you succeed.
Step 2: MAKE IT DEFENSIBLE.
Use any loose items you can find to protect the front of the store you've set up in. While most of the mall is safe, there are some shops that aren't, and you've got to prepare for the worst.
Roll 2d4 until they match.
Step 3: MAKE IT DEFENDABLE.
With another survivor played by another player or one you NPC, check the strength of your defenses.
Both roll 1d10. The higher roll determines the outcome. If the barricades stay up, you get 1 bonus Arcade Token for completing the quest. Otherwise repeat Step 2 until your dice matches, then try Step 3 again to make sure it can withstand the "assault."
Step 3: MAKE IT LIVABLE.
There is an IKEA in the mall, and that means you get to raid it for furniture! ...Easier said than done, though.
Find the kind of furniture you want! Feel free to just RP it out and pick what you want! Escape the labyrinth: Roll 2d6 till they match. Find the boxed version you need to put together: Roll 1d20 till you get an even number. Put the furniture together: Roll 1d20 till a 15 or higher.
If you have to roll more than 5 times, consider it done! Congratulations! First time doing this quest? Please write a minimum of 100 words for 1 Arcade Token.
Repeating? Minimum word count jumps up to 300 in order to claim your 1 Arcade Token.
Feeling wordy? Go above and beyond the bare minimum for additional tokens! You need to meet this word count while doing the quest, so no going back to pad your quest to claim tokens! These token bonuses do not stack, so you can't write 100 words to claim 1 token, then add 300 words to claim 2 more tokens. 500 words = 2 Arcade Tokens. 600 words = 3 Arcade Tokens. 700 words = 4 Arcade Tokens. 800 words = 5 Arcade Tokens.
Whistle While You Work: You can absolutely work on living quarters with someone else, even if you don't intend to stay with them. You will have to both roll for your own successes, but it does mean you get good company!

Now that the shops could be opened up and used as personal spaces for the malls dwellers to inhabit, G-Man had a plan, and that plan, of course, had to involve his little bro, because for better or for worse, they were in this situation together. It's just what their mom would have wanted. And besides that, if she was still alive when this was all over, G was pretty sure she would kick his a** to hell and back if she thought for a second that he hadn't been taking care of Dasz (even though it was more likely to be the other way around at least half of the time). "So here's the dealio. I say we get ourselves all situated in some sweet a** digs, get our Martha Stewart on, you know? The Source had a real nice couch in the home theater area, and even if that's gone now, we can still use that space. There's a shop that's got like, pillows and blankets and all that shiz. We should check it out before some of the other rats get their first and clean house. Know what I'm sayin, D?"

Dazs was actually thrilled by the idea. The inclusion of some semblance of normality was everything he hoped for. But it wasn't cool to look too enthused. He swiped at a smear of paint across his cheek. "Ok, Giuseppe," he said, because calling his brother names he didn't like was the job of little brothers everywhere. "Been itching to have a place to hole up, you know? Let's dismantle the others' expectations of finding a place as good as ours!" He grinned. "Guessing we gotta clean it out and stuff?"

G-Man cringed at the use of his actual name. "Not cool, bro. Come on, why you gotta be like that?" He complained, loudly, with a definite whine to his tone that he reserved for bratty little brothers, mothers, and girlfriends. ...As well as pretty much everyone else ever. "Ya, but come on, we need to figure out this bed sitch, first." Having arrived at their destination (The Source), G-man had a quick, appraising glance around. It first quick look, it didn't seem overly promising.

"Because, that's your mom-given name and wouldn't she appreciate you being called that? An it means 'he shall add', so let's add." He spoke in the most angelic of voices, reserved for irritating his brother. Then he dove in. "Y'know," he added later, rooting around for salvageable bits. "I could always call you 'Beppe' or 'Beppe-da-boo'." This was said in what could only be described as the thickest New Jersey accent Dazs could produce - thank you television. He gave a hoot as he unearthed that couch Giuseppe had spoken about, It appeared to be in actually alright condition. "Hey, look! This good?"

G was so busy gawking at his brother and all the indignity his comments wrought that he totally missed the couch being found beneath the rubbish.

Finally he deemed the couch worthy of recognition.
"Aw ya! See, what'd I say? We gonna make this place so dope, yo! Fill it to the roof with swag. The ladies gonna be all up in this joint, and all up on my junk. Swizzzle!" He laughed, reaching out to give his little bro a high five, previous transgressions of one minute ago seemingly forgotten.

Dazs high-fived him back, laughing. "Man, you're so picky!" He looked around and stroked an invisible beard. "I guess we gotta make it real safe, huh." Grabbing a table, he turned it on it's side and, small muscles straining, began dragging it to the entrance.

He seemed pretty content to just let Dasz do all the work, however.

Eventually he started to pick through things, but after a few minutes of this, it didn't really seem like he was actually going to help out at all.
