Despite the initial shock of running straight into a key player from her past that she had hoped to avoid, Nasille was fitting into the herd quite nicely and was finding her place. She particularly enjoyed the company of a small group of usdia that stuck together like glue. Juniper was a naturally happy and friendly mare that had taken the large cerynei under her wing. She showered her how they gathered and replanted the various herbs and plants they collected and introduced her to everyone. Otis was always at Juniper's side, and, while he did not talk much, he showed Nasille how to dig for roots that were later ground up to create fine medicinal powders. Kayode was always quick to rattle off the different medicinal properties of everything the group showed her, as well as other tidbits of unrelated facts. A lot of what he said went over her head, but she appreciated that he was making an effort to share his seemingly endless supply of knowledge.
She really did like it among the peaceful healing herd... but she could not shake the niggling annoyance that itched at the back of her mind. Alucia ignoring her and pretending not to remember her was beginning to drive the cerynei mad, and it was starting to show.

Stasya had sensed the tension that seemed to flow off of Alucia in waves since Nasille had joined their group. She did not know Nasille s well as she knew her apprentice, but the cerynei also seemed tense at times when Alucia was near. They seemed to avoid each other like the plague - or at least that was how Alucia acted towards Nasille. Nasille just seemed sad when Alucia would see her and walk the other way. Stasya frowned. She was very disappointed in her apprentice's recent behavior. This was against their way of life, and to treat a member of the herd in such a way was even worse. She spotted the purple and green unicorn in question chatting with some of the raccoons and approached.
"Alucia, may I borrow you for a moment? I require your assistance,"

Alucia looked away from the coon trio when she heard her teacher and best friend's voice.
"Oh hi, Stasya - of course!" she grinned and said goodbye to the raccoons before following after Stasya. She briefly wondered what this was about and went over all of the things she did today in her mind. She was shaken from her musings when her eyes caught sight of the bright green and yellow coloring that unmistakably belonged to Nasille. Her steps faltered as she noticed that Stasya was making a beeline for the cerynei. "Uhh, Stasya, what do you need me for?" she asked, slowing her steps but still following after the smaller unicorn.

Nasille had been watching one of the clawed soquili grind up a root in a bowl with a hard clay tool when she caught sight of the two unicorns approaching. She fought hard not to look at Alucia and kept her eyes on the gentle leader of the herd. The harpy mare she had been watching work lifted her eyes and bowed her head to Stasya before continuing her job.
"Good morning, Stasya. Do you need something?" Nasille asked kindly.

Stasya smiled and glanced over her shoulder to Alucia.
"Bubba told me that he forgot a basket of berries back near the river, and I was hoping that you'd go and retrieve it. And I want you to take Nasille with you,"
Bubba had, of course, said no such thing, but the wheels in Stasya's head were turning and a plan had taken shape. If she could force them together for even just a short period of time, perhaps they could work out whatever the issue was instead of avoiding each other forever.
"She's still quite new and I think she's feeling a bit... homesick maybe? I don't know, she seems sad lately," Stasya mused. "I wonder what's bothering her..." she met Alucia's eyes for a brief moment, before they got within earshot of Nasille.
"I'm sure that you'll try your hardest to make her feel welcome,"

Alucia flinched at the tone of Stasya's last statement. Did she notice the awkwardness and avoidance? A part of Alucia felt ashamed but the other part was screaming that it was better for Nasille if Alucia left her alone. But was Nasille sad? Was she lonely? Alucia had tried not to take notice of her... but the cerynei was very hard not to notice. Nasille had been adopted by the mini brigade as Alucia had dubbed them. It was nice to see her enjoying herself, but apparently there was something she was missing if Stasya was so worried about their newest addition.
Alucia inhaled sharply when they finally stopped in front of Nasille and she spoke. She had acknowledged Stasya but not Alucia... but that was to be expected. She shook her head and wished Emerald wasn't off exploring somewhere, she needed her friend's advice in this moment. She noticed Stasya was not replying to Nasille's question and turned to see the blue and purple unicorn staring at her expectantly. Oh....
"Um," Alucia stepped forward, scuffing a hoof against the ground. "Actually, I need some help down by the river, are you up for it?" she blurted.
