Khaldera had her eyes closed, head tilted, enjoying the feel of the breeze that was coming in off the ocean. It was enjoyable, as was the sight that was currently laid out before her, that of the vast starry sky that was glittering over the sand. The way that the stars danced, it was something to see, like watching her own people as they danced through the darkness of the ocean's depths. It was in this moment, as she looked up at those stars that she missed her people the most. Not to mention the desire that she felt to show off this sight, that of the stars, to her people. It would be quite the journey to get them all the surface to see it but it was something that she wanted to do one day.
Perhaps after she'd trained enough, became powerful enough, and gathered enough dragon orbs she would be able to lead such an excursion. It was a big under taking though, especially with little ones to think about. They were so tiny and delicate when they were first born, needed to be looked after by the breeders, to keep them safe from the dangers of the depths. There were times when she found herself wondering if there was more she could do to keep them all safe. Finding them a safer place to raise the young, one that didn't mean them hiding all the time with the breeders. That had been how Khaldera and her generation, as well as generations before her, were raised, but it was a waste of life. It was supposed to allow only the strongest to survive, because strength was needed in the depths, but it was a waste. The young could be taught to be strong after all, but not if they were dead. It would be a big change, but it would be good for her people, their clan would become bigger with more potential.
Her eyes lowered from the stars when she heard a rumbling growl, not directed at her, but from somewhere nearby. There were more dragons about, huh? She'd love to say that, as a Diabi and a member of the Deep Sea Clan, that she thrived in the dark... but it wasn't exactly the truth. Instead she sort of stood out due to her glowing skin. She'd draw the attention of the dragons soon enough, she might as well strike first, right? Better then being caught off guard while she starred at the stars and planned for the future of her people.
Pushing up to her feet she shook herself off, then started to walk forward, tail swishing. She would finding the dragons that she heard growl, assess the situation, and then she would strike! She wanted as many of their beautiful, glittering orbs as she could get her hands on, not only due to what they were but also what they represented. The power of a Merkorian, it wasn't something that came easily, especially to her clan, and she meant to become one. With that sort of power she would be able to better lead her clan. It wasn't the main goal of coming to the surface, that had just been to train and become powerful, but if she could return home Merkorian then they would be far more likely to do as she commanded no matter the order. That might mean big changes to her clan, something that would be good all around.
That thought in mind, driving her forward, she sped up her steps while gathering her magical power. She needed to prepare herself, to strike the moment that she found the dragons that she had heard growling. The moment that she came up and over the dune that stood between the mystery dragons and herself she gave a pleased sound. Her tail set to swishing when she saw them, counting them, before grinning. Three, huh? That was three more orbs to add to the growing collection of them that she had hidden in the water off the coast of Eowyn. She would need to figure out a method for carrying them around, a basket or something, perhaps? Once she'd done that she would be able to transport them a lot easier. She didn't have to worry about that until she had enough that she felt she was ready for the journey to become a Merkorian. Until then it was best to keep them all safely hidden away.
With enough of her dark, Diabi power gathered Khaldera drew in a deep breath, and released it in a powerful burst of magic toward the trio of dragons. The attack was powerful, as well as well aimed, enough that it was able to wipe out the closest of the dragons. The first dragon started to crumble away while the powerful blast knocked back the other two of them on their sides. She didn't look at the two of them, instead watching in rapt fascination the beautiful Kiandri orb fall down into the glittering sand.
Khaldera gave a click of her many sharp teeth before purring out, "Wonderful!" One down, two to go she thought to herself as she started forward toward the two dragons as they recovered and her orb. As she walked she started to gather more of her magical power to herself, wanting to be prepared for the next battle. Now that the two dragons knew that she was here they were going to be more difficult to deal with. Not that she was all that scared, instead looking forward to the battle against the pair that lay before her.

The two Kiandri dragons that she'd knocked into the sand were back on their feet in no time, a bit scuffed up by the magical attack, but still able to move easily enough. A quick once over showed that one of them was limping slightly, but not bad enough that it was going to really slow the creature down too much. Still, it was an injury, it might slow it down with time, so she would take care of it's companion first. Best to deal with the one that would likely be more of a threat she thought to herself as her gathered magic set to swirling about her. There was enough that she should be able to deal with at least one of them. Best to wait for her chance though since she didn't want to waste even a bit of her magical energy.
As the first of the dragons came at her Khaldera stood her ground, waiting for her chance to strike... and as the dragon got closer she saw it. The Kiandri opened it's mouth, giving a great roar, and it was into it's open maw that she sent a blast of her dark magic. The dragon's roar was cut off midway through, with the dragon's eyes going wide with shock, before it crumbled into dust. The dust blew away in the breeze while the orb came to drop almost at Khaldera's feet. It caused the Merkora to give a toothy grin before she turned her attention to the final of the three dragons, giving it a once over, before starting toward it. Only one dragon now stood before Khaldera and her trio of dragon orbs, something that pleased her like nothing else. Her stash was growing, and each one was a step toward the glorious power that she sought.
"Come on then, dragon, let's finish this. I want to return to enjoying the beautiful night sky." She told the Kiandri before she went charging toward the dragon. As she rushed forward she set to gathering more of her magical power into her throat, preparing another attack to use on the dragon that came toward her. It was time to finish this she thought to herself, sliding through the sand she lunged up, clamping her many sharp teeth down on the beast's throat... and then released the energy through her teeth and into the dragon's throat. It was messy for a moment... and then the dragon was crumbling away, it's dust carried off by the wind.
Landing lightly on her feet the angler Merkora shook herself off, ridding herself of only a bit of the blood and sand that clung to her skin. Giving a grumble about 'needing to rinse off, she set about the task that was gathering up her trio of orbs. Each of the orbs was given a full inspection, with Khaldera purring over their beautiful, before she put all three orbs on her tail fin, wrapping it around them. She'd see about tucking them all safely away into her stash before she returned to watching the stars.
After giving the area a once over, making sure that there weren't any dragons left that might follow her, she headed into the cool the water. A short swim later, that involved not only her hiding her orbs with the others that she'd gathered to this point, but also getting cleaned up, she was back on the beach again. The angler Merkora gave herself a once over, making sure that she was her beautiful self again, before nodding. Good, there was nothing worse then when blood caused sand to stick to you she'd learned.
"Alright, now that those dragons have been taken care of I can return to what I was doing." She murmured to herself, lifting her head once more to watch the glittering stars.
