Amidst the hustle and bustle of downtown New Hemisect City, a quaint bookstore nestled below the towering skyscrapers on a busy street corner. The walk from Elidae's communal hivestem was a short one that she took pleasure in, skipping along and enjoying the somewhat fresh air. She soon approached the double doors of the store, a small ring chiming as she entered. The building itself was moderately sized, rows of bookcases lining the walls and creating a maze. In the center was a circular café that served an assortment of freshly baked grubloafs and refreshments.

It was one of Elidae’s absolute favorite places to be. While she wasn’t an avid reader herself, the light hum in the atmosphere and the aroma wafting from the café brought comfort and inspiration to her that couldn’t be found anywhere else. Trolls attracted to this sort of spot in the city generally kept to themselves, immersed in books and chit chat over caffeinated beverages. It was perfect, as Elidae had been feeling unusually jumpy lately after recent events and just wanted a place she could feel comfortable. She kept herself cooped up in her hive for far too long for her liking and her need for fresh air triumphed her desire to stay asleep in her recuperacoon. Shaking off the tenseness she was feeling wouldn't happen if she didn't break away from her hive first.

As she ambled in, something shiny and black caught her eye. It was a flashy display for a newly released book, clearly aimed towards the caliginous quadrant. "Hmmm?" She scurried over, much to her lusus' distress. A story about kismesissitude? "Hmmm!" She snatched a copy. Black romance sure was weird! And deeply confusing to Elidae. And perhaps intriguing. Any time she'd ask Ladydad about it, he would simply dismiss her and steer her clear of the subject. He always did that whenever she was curious about something she didn't quite understand! Nevertheless, Elidae stared at the black novel, turning it over and ogling at it curiously as Ladydad furiously fluttered around her screaming, 'PUT THAT DOWN RIGHT NOW, ELIDAE BONBON!' She dropped it, but not without a huff of frustration. He always had to be a wet blanket. Destroying her fun. Lusii. Continuing her walk through the bookstore, Elidae surveyed the surroundings with a content curve on her lips, Ladydad perching atop her head.

"Hey, Dad, I think a new issue of My Little Hoofbeast came out today!" Elidae said in a sing-song tone, throwing up a wide-toothed grin and excited eyes towards her lusus, "Can I get it?" Ladydad made a negative chirp, but that didn't stop her from unashamed begging. "Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Pleaaaase?" He frustratingly began to pull at her hair from the top of her head to signify that he had enough of her shenanigans. "Ow! Booooo, okaaay." Pushy, yes, but Elidae was also obedient and accepting when it comes to being told a firm no. A warm and delicious scent reached her nose; she glanced into the cafe and at the pastry counter. Buuuuut as good a charge as she was... she has always been an opportunist. "Mmm, grubloaf pops! Maybe we can get some before we... leave...?" However, Elidae's words trailed off, her voice becoming smaller. She had stopped in her steps to get a better look at the headline of the newspaper a sitting troll at the cafe had held up.

'Starship destroys Four Fronds; Forest up in smoke' She stared at it for a while, her normally lively eyes glossed over as the memories of freshly spilled blood, swamp scum, and burning trees began to ignite her think pan.

Azrael's visit to new Hemisect city was due in part to the fact that he needed to see a doctor about the wounds all over him and find out how much damage the plant he'd consumed did to his system. He had one arm in flexible cast and aside from that was covered in bandages. He figured that if he was going to visit the doctor in question then he might as well make it a day trip and see some places within the city. This was a place he liked to sit and watch trolls come and go, his sketchbook was filled with so many trolls of different shapes and sizes with little notes on the side. However right then he wasn't really paying attention to his sketchpad and let it sit on the table he was sitting at in the Cafe area of the store.

Azreal enjoyed the quiet atmosphere of the store and was deeply engrossed in a comicbook. Stopping occasionally to take a bite of the grubloaf and whatever he'd ordered in the cup beside that. Scarfettle was half on Azreal's head and partially draped over the young trolls shoulders, absolutely entranced by the pictures. It was a comic about four outcast trolls working together to stop the roguish mutants and traitors to the crown that ran a muck in the city. Their base was centered in a sewer system and their teacher was a rat-like lusus that had adopted the four of them. It was a fantastical story that Azreal enjoyed even if it was utter nonsense sometimes.

He hadn't even finished the book when he had stopped reading, he figured he'd save the rest of the comicbook for home as he planned to purchase a few of them. He looked up and stretched, he kind of felt like drawing now and his mind felt so invigorated after the story. He looked around for the target of his next page of doodles and notes. Eventually his eyes landed on a yellowblood and her lusus as they walked towards the Cafe area. She was really very pretty! He stared at her for a moment. 'You okay Az?' scarfettle asked finally looking up from the comicbook. "What?" Azreal looked down at his lusus. " Yeah, i'm fine don't worry, I was just thinking about, ummm.... who I was going to observe today, " Scarfettle rose up on his hind legs and touched Azreal's nose. 'Are you sure you're up for that right now?' the small draconic creature asked " I'll be fine scarf, don't worry," he smiled at the small dragon and kissed him on the head.

After reassuring his lusus that he'd be fine, Azreal took out his sketchpad and switched to a new page. and looked up to see if the yellowblood was still there. He watched her as she stopped to read a newspaper clipping. Azrealpursed his lips and tried to push away the sudden sinking in his stomach. That wasn't a great day and honestly he didn't remember a good portion of it nor did he really want to. He shook his head and began his sketch of the yellowblood. He looked up occasionally to watch her before erasing or adding lines to the drawing. He stopped once or twice to make notes such as:

Was she there?
She looks like she might be interested in clothes.
what kind of books is she interested in?

After a few moments and a rushed breath, Elidae came back to her senses. The warm aromas of the cafe replaced metallic, earthy scents derived from memory, the loud sounds morphing into the gentle hum and soft murmuring of the bookstore. She blinked. Hushed but concerned, Ladydad gently nibbled on a chunk of her hair, asking if she was alright. Instinctively, her first response was a stiff nod and a faux-smile, assuring her lusus she was completely fine. And she... was? For the most part. Now that she was out of her hive, she felt much brighter, easier for her to get a handle over herself and return to enjoying things. Her lusus seemed to press the issue, needing more reassurance. This time, she gave him a heartened grin. "I am, don't worry 'bout it."

A thought occurred to her with sudden rush of enthusiasm. She finally knew what to look for! Turning on her heel, something in the cafe caught her eye. Making eye contact with a young troll such as herself, her cheeks flushed lightly. At first she looked away, then slowly allowed herself an unassuming double-take at the blueblood with a messy head of wind-blown hair, with his supposed lusus wrapped around him. With a polite wave and smile to him, she turned on her heel and left the area. Right now, she had a sudden mission!

After pacing off, she ended up at the medical section. Putting her hands on her hips, Elidae stared at the long aisle of gigantic books, bottom lip pulling down in an uncertain expression. There was a hesitant, almost comical chatter of a question from her lusus. His charge normally wouldn't be into this sort of thing; what was the sudden interest? "Oh, you know! ... uhhh..." There was a long pause. She found she couldn't really answer her lusus' inquiry, considering her reasons correlate with events she refrained from mentioning to him dealing with the recent mission. "Well, I was really inspired!" At least it wasn't a lie? "You know, when you got knocked out. Hahah! I saw a lot in the medical bay and I found myself having an interest in it." That was a blatant lie. After a clear grunt of disapproval to her joke, her lusus took the words with sincerity and found her interest in the subject endearing. Elidae mentally sighed in relief, though in the back of her think pan, she felt a restless guilt. Ignoring this, she made her way down the row of books, pausing here and there to look at titles that stood out to her eye. One in particular made her halt in her steps.

'Sutures and Surgical Knots' seemed... promising... Sutures? What the glub were sutures? Weren't those, like... stitches? Curiously, Elidae grabbed the book from the shelf and began to flip through it. Most of the wording flew over her head, the illustrations proving to only confuse her more, though she could see clear as a fullmooned night that sutures were what she thought they were. Squinting down hard in absolute concentration, she attempted to decipher what she could, continuously flipping through the pages. Elidae paused to scratch her cheek. Maybe this was what she was looking for? Errrrr...

Azrael found the actions of the yellowblood very curious. Of course, lowbloods could beweird about highbloods even looking their way. Was she one of those kinds of lowbloods? Well he didn't mean her any harm, he should probably go let her know as much just in case she got the wrong idea about him and why he was staring at her. Azrael closed his sketchbook and gathered up his things, he didn't want the staff to mistake his stuff for forgotten items or trash. After thoroughly making sure he hadn't left anything he began his search for the yellowblood girl.

It took a little bit of searching, she wasn't in any of the isle he expected a girl of their age to be interested in. When he finally found her in the isle where most of the medical books were found, he was pleasantly surprised. He noted her position and wondered if she was looking at becoming a doctor or some equivalent. He sort of knew this isle, it was one he frequented for books on biology.
The look on her face gave Azrael the impression that she wasn't sure about what she was reading, maybe he can give her some help. He wasn't an expert, but he was really good with difficult words and could probably give her some insight. " are you finding everything alright?" the blueblood asked as he made his presence known. Scarfettle watched the yellowblood from his perch on Azrael's shoulder. He was still on edge from the swamp and didn't trust the yellowblood or her lusus.

Immersed in a whirling state of awe and confusion, Elidae had not noticed the blueblood approaching. For how long he had been there she didn't know, but she was only made aware of his appearance when he said something.

"Huh?!" Elidae startled, fumbling with the book in her hands and nearly dropping it. "Oh! What? Yeah, totally! Just, uh, just what I was looking for!" With an abundance of excitement, Elidae held up the medical book for him to see, flashing him a toothy, open grin. There was a small pause. "I think, at least! I'm not too sure, but seems like it!" Giggling, she wondered momentarily if it was strange to see someone like her puttering around in this section of the bookstore. With a brightening smile, she glanced over the boy's own appearance, immediately recognizing him as the cute blueblood she waved to earlier.

Elidae snapped her fingers and and pointed at him. "Hey! I just saw you in the cafe! Any recommendations?"
