Train Car #3 Boarding went smoothly. Passengers boarded at a calm clip and joined those already present until the car reached slightly beyond comfortable capacity. Strangers stood shoulder to shoulder in the standing areas, though they left enough room in the aisle to accommodate people wishing to change seats. All seats were soon filled, with two to a row on either side of the aisle. Capacity was twenty-eight for seating, leaving the car packed with around forty denizens in the midst of prime travel time.
Each seat was of simple ergonomic design with violet carpeted seat covers. The lot of them faced forward with narrow leg room so taller passengers often stood. Each row received a letter, and each seat received a number - seats started in the top left with A1, following each subsequent letter in the alphabet, and ended in F4 at the bottom right. A simple metal label mounted to the top of the seat confirmed the row and seat number - an outmoded practice from the times when the subway issued assigned seats - but the numbers no longer mattered in free seating. There are privacy screens toward the back of the car for people who intend to sleep until they reach their next stop and want to do so without prying eyes.
Agents who boarded these trains were given orders to take seating, as the slumping inherent from a starseed stolen could easily pass as sleep. Standing parties proved the much riskier targets, and Brimstone warned that stealth was tantamount to the mission's success. Pulling from standing individuals should only be done in a time of dire need, and if the operation reached that point, then meeting up with a Captain or General (or constituent senshi) was the far better plan. General Brimstone also prided himself on how he staffed participating agents among the cars, citing that he left an officer who can teleport among every car.
General Brimstone also composed the organization for this operation at three in the morning, so he felt particularly proud that day.
The trains progressed in a large completed circuit, so anyone who missed their stop would be able to reach it by simply waiting on the train until it circled back around. The train always stopped at each platform on its route, eliminating the need for the bell alerts like on busses. This rendered the subway both dependable and predictable, thus earning its common use.
Of course, the fact that it hadn't yet been the target of terrorist activity warmed people's hearts greatly.

Rules, Explanations, and tl;dr _______RulesPlease be courteous to other participants! This event is meant to be fun, and godmodding and bad attitudes are akin to shitting on the birthday cake. Try not to jump out of the train or otherwise break out. You'll splatter. You don't want this. The train cars are controlled remotely, so it's not possible to sabotage or reverse the effects on the train. _______Phase 1There will be a rolling component to this part of the event!
All Negaverse agents (and Mintaka) start with a stealth value of 120. When this number reaches 0, you have been discovered! It is up to the owners of the Negaverse agents to keep track of this number. All Negaverse agents (and Mintaka) must randomize 1-5 if they are attempting to grab a starseed (or drain energy in Mintaka's case). This number is subtracted from your stealth value. For the purpose of this event, starseed pulls are auto-success (as is Mintaka's energy grab). All participating anti-Negaverse characters may randomize 1-5 to denote their suspicion of any one Negaverse agent. You can only suspect one person at a time, as is the nature of human focus. Anti-Negaverse characters are allowed to power up at any time. Any anti-Negaverse character transformation will immediately drop all stealth values to 0 and end the rolling portion of this event. Likewise, transformation is highly advised when a Negaverse agent's stealth value reaches 0! If you transform or your stealth value reaches 0, please use the code on the front page to quote all parties in the thread to let them know that the rolling portion has concluded (and quote me too please)!
There is no need to wait for a Negaverse agent to make the first roll. There are some pretty suspicious-looking outfits out there! There is no cooldown on posts, but please be courteous about rolling! There is no need to keep a total on your 1-5 rolls! You do not have to participate in rolling to participate in this part of the event! The rolling portion also has a built-in timer to prevent it from dragging on forever!
Example: Lt. Deviline rolls to pull a starseed. Lt. Deviline randomizes a 3, which is subtracted from his stealth value. Originally at 120, his stealth value drops to 117. Lorne (Mont Blonc) sees something funny going on when watching this mysterious dude in a track suit (Deviline) and randomizes a number. Lorne randomizes a 5, which is subtracted from Deviline's stealth value and drops it to 112.
Example: Two agents are acting strangely up near the front of the car. Snowball sees this and randomizes a number, but that roll only affects whichever agent Snowball chooses.
Example: Caledonite, Rebalite and Stibnite all have varying stealth values from pulling starseeds and gathering suspicion. Dmitry rolls on Stibnite and sends her stealth value to 0.
Whew, that's pretty daunting! Please PM me if you have questions about the rolling!_______tl;drPowered-down characters enter a subway car with the rest of the crowd, as do Negaverse agents. The agents start pulling starseeds. Between action rolls on part of the Negaverse agent and suspicion rolls on part of the powered-down group, they nuke the Negaverse agent's stealth value and then everyone powers up and all hell breaks loose around these poor, traumatized civilians. Way to go, assholes!

Communication Every powered character has the ability to communicate with other characters outside of this thread! Whether that's via standard cell phone, knight signet ring, senshi cell phone, or Negaverse crystal is up to you!
Communication is good for letting others know which train a character is on, and to notify others that something might be up on said train. This will become especially useful when strange things start happening to the train! Communication is optional, but giving someone on the platform a status update might help stop the car!
Communication becomes significant at a later date (after the roll portion has concluded)!
In order to chat with someone on the platform, please quote the player with the text or verbal message that their character receives. Be sure to denote which of their characters you're chatting with, as they may have multiple characters in the platform area!
Likewise, chatting is completely optional! Your characters can remain asocial for the whole of the event if they please!

She had said that she was going to be more involved with the negaverse, so she was surprised at the offer from one of the agents. Brimstone? He had reached out to someone and found her. The mission was simple enough really.
They were draining energy (in her case) and starseeds from others. Though she didn't approve of yanking the seeds, she also remembered she had to play a role here. To ensure that Aurostibite remained safe, and perhaps even help her dark mirror court out with energy gather.
She took out the hair pins for her powered form, tucking them into her pocket. Her white hair was pulled into long black wig. While white hair wasn't uncommon, it did stand out. She didn't use sunglasses, but she tucked her whole fuku into a trench coat. The outfit, luckily wasn't overly lumpy, nor stand outish. She looked, a lot like any of the other civilians.
She took a seat in the far back, closest to the window and proceeded to pull out a compact mirror. Underneath the makeup part, where the brush usually went was her three shards for her wraiths. She made small noises and then waited.
She'd need people on the train before she could send them off to do the work.

Marissa Reeves was used to the hustle and bustle of public transportation—the most notable reason being that she didn't own a car. She hadn't needed one in New York and she'd be damned if she needed one in Destiny City. She was perfectly fine with the subway and the bus systems. Both were reliable enough—not to mention cheap.
She stepped onto the train without bothering to look at any of the other passengers. She didn't make a habit of meeting their eyes. People told her it made her seem unwelcoming.
As if she cared.
Today, she boarded the train with her niece in tow, on their way to meet her kid and her kid's husband for dinner.
“It's so hot in here,” she complained, undoing the first couple of buttons on her shirt and fanning herself with one of her hands. Either the train was too crowded for the air to circulate properly, the air conditioning was malfunctioning, or she was having a hot ******** menopause.
It had to be the air. She simply wasn't old enough to be experiencing menopausal hot flashes yet.

While Rhiannon Beaumont agreed that it was rather hot in the train car, she was already wearing very little to begin with, so there wasn’t much for her to unbutton to try and cool off more. Short shorts and a tank top was really all she needed to get through the summer. And her truck. Her truck would have been nice to use instead of riding the train, but it was currently in the shop.
She wanted to at least respond in some way to her aunt, but couldn’t think of anything worth saying other than agreeing with her on the heat, so she just kept her mouth shut and her eyes down at the bag she had in her lap. While it was nice for her aunt to bring her along for dinner, she doubted she would make much for company.

Captain Ashanite: 118 stealth
Ashanite was, he was well aware, not exactly the stealthiest person on the planet. Especially not in uniform. His look was flashy and attention-getting, and normally that was great, but for now, because despite his public protestations he actually did want this operation to succeed, he had shed his jacket and replaced it with a dark button-up shirt and a hat. Too many people had seen him during his corruption - normally that was useful, but now, without glamour to protect him, it made him identifiable.
Best to stay as under the radar as possible.
It was, he realized, probably strange that he had so little compunction about killing - but there was already blood on his hands, and he still struggled to sleep with the vision of Tuchanka sputtering and dying stuck in his head. Might as well stain his hands more, and this wasn't the slow, bleeding death of his blades. No, pulling a starseed was like falling asleep. He knew.
He had a small carrying case, intended for a large smartphone, and he intended to use that to hold his starseed haul.
The first victim - a man dead asleep, easy to "accidentally" bump into and, with one swift motion, extract his starseed. He slipped it into the case and then grabbed one of the poles for standing room, because hew would have a much easier time pulling that way.

Captain Miasmite: 117 stealth
Captain Miasmite often found himself grumbling about not being quite as fancy as some of the other Negaverse agents. Even at Captain stage, some of the others looked really spiffy! Not this captain, though; his trench coat-ed getup was not terribly unusual. At the worst, he looked like an old-fashioned private eye like people saw in the movies.
Of course, now was not the time for complaining about a lack of ornamentation. If anything, it was immensely helpful as he slid around the train car, looking for a suitable target. A young woman was slumped against the window, dozing off. He sat down beside her and reached over, looking as if he was going to shake her awake, then swiftly guided his hand to the bullseye. With some spectacular sleight of hand, he pulled the starseed out quickly and pocketed it. One down, so many left to go.

As the crowd hurried on, Mintaka could feel the tightening anxiety of what was coming. She could feel the other negaverse on the car, which meant that it was time to do as they planned.
There was a slight whisper into her mirror as one of the mirror wraiths, tangible and hard to see was released from her compact. It slithered, much like a snake, to the bottom of the seats. She stationed one, closer to the front of the car, in an attempt to work her way back.
A young woman had taken her seat, gotten comfortable and pulled her hood up. In a few minutes more, and a little energy sapped, the girl was resting her head on the glass, looking like a typical ride goer. The wraith returned to her, very carefully as it had now gained a little more of a form and disappeared back into the mirror. Mintaka on the other hand touched her hand to the person in front of her.
"Do you mind if I crack the window? I'm not very good with closed spaces and it seems a bit warm in here.

He really hated crowds, always sort of had, and it hadn't gotten better as he'd gotten older. In fact Ian was less social than he'd been in his younger years. He blamed it, mostly, on his lush of a father. Actually that was why he was taking the train today - he needed to go see his mother who was at her lawyers office in the city. The Jacob's family home was outside of the city and so he had a commute which required the train.
His mother was still working on finalizing the divorce as assets and such were being divided between her and her soon to be former husband, he'd been doing his best to avoid his father and all court things. He knew he should be there for his mother, what sort of son was he to not be there supporting his mother? But he also didn't, and couldn't, deal with his father.
Boarding the train, shuffling as he was jostled by random people, Ian went to find himself a window seat so he could watch the scenery pass by as he headed deeper into the city. As he sat down he drew one leg up to himself and pressed his face to the glass, green eyes focusing on the other people outside on the platform that were boarding. The train would take off in a minute and he'd likely be stuck with someone sitting next to him - yup...someone sat right next to him and nearly hit him with their overly large purse - how nice.
(Feel free to interact with.)

Lorne had, originally, been one of the lucky few to have a seat - he'd been out and about apartment hunting today, something suitable for him and his cousin at a reasonable price and an ample amount of room for him and Kyle to have their privacy because of reasons, so he'd been far enough to embark the car was relatively empty at the beginning of the line. As the seats had filled, though, as a pregnant woman had slipped onto the car, he'd gladly offered her his own.
So now he stood wedged against what felt like a million other bodies, which have been completely overwhelming with all the voices buzzing softly all around him, if it wasn't for the fact that his nose was tucked firmly into a book. Some sort of anthology, a collection of fantasy tales. (Thank god he'd thought to bring it with him.) He was listening for his stop, but otherwise he was making a deliberate attempt to focus on the printed words and just trying not to bump into anyone and draw undue attention.

Lieutenant Devilline: 115 Stealth
Devilline was still very new at this whole... Starseed frisking thing, but hey, what better way to learn then with some good old fashion hands on learning.
Quite literally.
So here he was on an all to crowded train. With countless cute people for him to hit on practice on. Some of the passengers were almost to cute try on. But alas, he had things to do... There would always be another cute person right around the corner. Speaking of which there was a SUPER cute black haired boy that Devilline had spent the past ten minutes staring at just cause he was so cute trying to focus on the book and not the people around him. Sweety, look up. The people were so much more fun... Besides, watching him was fun. He had a cute butt.
Oh well next time...
Devilline's first "victim" had been some jackass who hadn't gotten up for a sweet old lady when she got on the train. He was now asleep, sprawled in the seat with little dignity. So when the train car lurked, Devilline 'fell' on to him with a small "Oopsie daisy!" and the deed was done.
Devilline pulled out his eyeglasses case and quickly stowed the seed away before the case disappeared into his mystery of a 'track suit' of a uniform. On to the next person! However, as he was looking for a new victim.. A cutie pants with long hair, tied in a braid caught his attention, in more ways then one. So Devilline wriggled his way over, not with out pinching a few butts here and there. Then when he was close enough, he simply reached over and grouped the mans butt.
"I want you to know I regret nothing right now."

The train was not usually Fritz's preferred method of traveling, but, well, it was there, and he desperate times had called for desperate measures. He reclined back in his seat, one leg crossed idly over the other, Fritz's nose currently buried in a book that was quite clearly one of those romance novels, the cover depicting a rather scantily clad pirate couple.
It was unbelievably warm on the train, and while Fritz normally didn't mind the temperatures being high, he supposed it was because of the sheer number of people actually boarded, everyone clustered together. He'd already shifted a little to the side, his seatmate pushing the boundaries between acceptable bubble sharing and too much sharing.
He stood up at some point, since he felt somehow less crowded being forced into a corner, Fritz's hand wrapping around the pole in the middle. He was still reading, glasses slipping partly down his nose, his back mercifully against the wall and not someone else this time.
If anyone glanced over his shoulder, they would see that the page Fritz was currently reading had the words breathy and flushed scattered throughout, as well as a phrase that seemed to say something along the lines of "he gazed into the limpid pools of her eyes."
