It had been a while since he'd gotten Dax to agree to sponsor the astronomy club, and despite the posters he'd hung up around campus, no one had come to join in. Admittedly, this disappointed Starlet a little, but he figured maybe the posters had just gone missing or something. To investigate, he began wandering the school, checking in on the places he'd hung them two weeks prior.
He'd made it through all of Enoch, the posters were still in tact there, and was making his way towards Arkham. Maybe the art students had covered them up or something... Or were just offended at his terrible art skills. That was also a possibility...
Starlet turned down the first hall leading towards the Arkham common area, not really paying attention to anything in particular as he was lost in thought about what to do about the possibility of his posters not being artistic enough to hang around the message boards on this part of the campus...

Quentin had been making his way through the hallways when he happened to catch the word astronomy on a paper. It was covered by a few other posters, he just happened to pick out a word that met his interests. He moved the posters around to organize them so they fit better, putting the astronomy club poster in the front. He rubbed his neck as he looked over the not so artistic poster. Dax had told him about this club and even recommended it to him but.. that meant he had to be around a group of people and commit to being there. He sighed, feeling like it'd be unlikely because of his shy nature as well as his lack of time from class homework.
As he turned to leave he saw someone familiar, "S-Starlet?" He asked curiously. It had to be... but his eye? What had happened to it? He rubbed his neck, thinking when the last time he saw him was. Had it really been that long that he couldn't even remember? They had been friends but for some reason just stopped talking and hanging out. He sighed, feeling guilt for not trying to keep in touch.

He'd been about ready to leave, having lost track of where he'd hung a poster in this particular hall and wasn't having any luck finding it. He stopped, though, as soon as he heard his name. Briefly confused, he turned to stare at Quentin, visible eye narrowed a little as he tried to jog his memory... Oh. He blinked, then offered a stiff little wave.
"Hello Quentin." This was awkward even for Starlet. What to say...? They hadn't spoken in quite some time, he probably hadn't even told him why. "You look well. How have you been?" Well, he might as well ask how he's doing, they were friends once after all.

Quentin rubbed his neck nervously, "Oh..Umm.. I've been alright. How about you?" He asked as he mustered a smile. "I ... was just coming back from seeing professor Dax.." he explained, chuckling a bit. "It was kinda weird because he told me about a club that I should join and as I walked by I saw the poster for it." He added, wondering if he sounded dumb, yeah he sounded dumb.
He sighed, "Sorry.. I .. it's been a while.. I should have tried harder." He admitted to him, looking down as his shoulders slumped.

He tilted his head, blinking. It seemed Quentin was still very shy... though Starlet hadn't really expected him to change much anyway. "Ah, were you?" He shifted his weight a little, one hoof scraping across the ground. "I was simply over here to collect my posters... I am not the best artist, I think that might be playing a roll in the lack of interest I have gotten..." He shrugged.
Quentin's next statement made him shake his head. "Oh, no. Please do not feel as if it is your fault. I have neglected all of my friendships." This was where people gave empathetic pats, right? He'd seen it in some movies before... Slowly he shuffled forward a bit and awkwardly patted one of Quentin's shoulders, then straightened himself out. "I apologize for the neglect. I was not feeling well for a long time."

Quentin blinked in confusion as his shoulder was patted. "It's also my fault.. I could have hunted you down and hung out with you but I didn't.. instead I got absorbed in my schoolwork.. So I am sorry." He replied, giving him a soft smile. "I'm sorry.. if this sounds rude.. but what happened to your eye?" He asked as politely as possible. "If you don't want to talk about it, that's fine." He told him, not wanting him to feel pressured.
Quentin then looked back at the board he was just at. "I actually just organized the bulletin board. It was extremely unorganized." He explained, relaxing a bit with a small smile. "Which poster was yours?" He asked curiously.

Perhaps the shoulder pat was out of bounds... he should look into proper comforting procedures later. He couldn't help but bristle a bit at the question, brief memories flashing in his mind. Oh, it hurt, terribly bad... One hand twitched, but he stifled the need to cover the damaged eye before it did anything. "I... would prefer not to speak of it." He nodded, feeling a little guilty, but he still wasn't in a place where he could. "I am sorry for that." He sighed, then looked to the board.
"Well, it is the Astronomy club poster. I made some to hang around campus in hopes that it would attract others who are also interested, but alas, it does not seem to work at all." He sighed once more, then shrugged. "At this rate it will have to be disbanded when I graduate, as I am the only member."

Quentin nodded to him, not pressing the issue as promised. He instead smiled and gave the other a gentle hug. "That's okay, you don't have to tell me." He reassured. His smile turned into a beaming grin, "Wait! you are the founder of the Astronomy club?!" Quentin asked with a chuckle. "Professor Dax just[/] recommended that club to me because of my love for astronomy!" He laughed a bit more. "Well.. I am a junior... so if I join then I can take over for you." He told him, rubbing his neck. "Your poster.. isn't that bad..." He mumbled, "But I could help make new ones with you if you'd like?" He offered up.

He stiffened slightly at the hug, just at first, but then loosened up a little and attempted a slight hug back. He wasn't particularly used to that sort of affection anymore. "Yes, I am. I asked Dax to help me with it not long ago." He nodded, gaining a slight hint of a smile at the question.
"Yes, this is true. I am sure that you would be a good club president, too." He tilted his head a little, then nodded. "It is alright to say that it is bad, I am not a particularly artistic person. But if you would like to help me with new ones I would appreciate it greatly."

Quentin smiled largely, "That's great that you opened up a club. I'd love to help you with it... i-if I can get my homework done first." He explained, he had so much homework to do and not all of it was teacher given. He also assigned himself homework so he could learn as much as he possible could. He sighed with a smile, "I-I'll join when I can, okay? For now.. can we.. maybe hang out more often? I'd really like to catch up with you." He requested as he nipped his bottom lip nervously. He had hoped the other would accept his request.. he'd even make sure he had time to just relax and talk with him. Dax did tell him that he needed to have friends..so, why not start here?

He nodded. "Of course. I would not want to infringe upon homework. I have my own to get done as well." He sighed a bit, it seemed as though the teachers were trying to cram every last bit of homework they could into all of the seniors before they left.... How troublesome. "Oh, yes. That would be fine. I will try to be... similar to how I was before." Another nod, though he was stating the impossible. "Though, I am not sure how possible that will be. I seem to have lost much of the ability to emote. If I say something... off, please let me know. I will not have meant it."

Quentin lightly touched his shoulder with a soft smile, "Starlet... I don't need you to be like you were when we were kids. There is nothing wrong with being the you that you are now." He explained, releasing his arm to rub his own. "I mean.. I've gotten even more shy since I was a kid and I even give myself more homework to do so that I can get out of here, graduate and become a teacher or something." He added to his explanation. "I just came back from Dax's after asking him for more challenging work." He rubbed his neck with embarrassment. "So don't be afraid to just.. be you, okay? Emote or not... I'll still be your friend." He added.

Starlet blinked, looking at the hand for a moment before he nodded. "I see. Thank you, Quentin." He then made an attempt at a smile, which of course looked awkward. "You do? I see... They will give you plenty of it later." He sighs. "I do not have much time outside of my homework, honestly. But I would enjoy spending some time together again. It was nice, before. And thank you, for accepting that part of me. I am slowly figuring out how to do things again, but it is slow going."
He shifts his weight a bit. "What sort of thing do you normally do to unwind?"

Quentin smiled softly to Startlet, "I honestly do homework... well more like study astrology. Sometimes I look for things I can collect?" He said sheepishly, "Or perhaps... I'm just not good with unwinding?" He laughed a bit nervously. "What do you do? Surely you have a way better way to unwind than I do." He mentioned, shifting the weight of his backpack to feel a tad more comfortable. "Even though I don't have a lot of time outside of classes and homework... Perhaps we could set up a day we can meet up once a week?" Sure it sounded great but what were they supposed to do? Talk? Both of them weren't really much talkers in all honesty. Were they just gonna sit in eachother's presence? That seemed boring.

It seemed that Quentin did not really do a lot, but it wasn't like he did very much either... Outside of preparing to graduate, he didn't have much time for frivolities. The time that he did have, he usually dedicated to his club. Or... well... trying to get the club going.
"I see..." He nodded, then shrugged a little. "That is suitable. I have study blocks on the weekend scheduled in the library, if you would like to join me. Perhaps we can do that. It is not really hanging out, but since we both do a lot of homework or studying, it is a way to spend time."
He perked a little as the school bell started ringing, signalling the start of the next hour... He had to get to class. "Unfortunately, I need to leave now. I have a class starting. You can drop by between noon and 1pm in the far corner studying room on Saturday or Sunday, I will be there both days. It was good to see you again, Quentin." He flashed his best attempt at a smile, and then "hurried" off to his next class.
