Operation: Drop The BaseSynopsis: Operation: Drop the Base aims to re-establish old, abandoned bases so that they can be used once more as outposts. This involves bringing them back onto the grid for pendant and portal communication, re-establishing runic power, clearing out any monsters, and general repairs.
Bases Repaired to Date: 0
Assistance Needed: 1 Moon, 1 Sun/Mist, 1 Life (optional), 1 Death (optional) per visit
Note: These roles are temporary. People can hop in and help once, or multiple times! The OoC This is the first of a series of repairs Felicia intends to do over the coming OoC weeks and months! To get one base back online will take at least two OoC months!
Any player that would like their hunter to join only needs to post here expressing interest and I will work in a way for them to help! Feel free to drabble them being anywhere on Deus and looking idle. She has a way of honing in on people.
There are no strings attached: help once or help more times, it's up to you. Helping once consists of an IC amount of 24 hours at first!
There will be no character death, but there will be monsters to fight, old artifacts to find, and camping it ruff, and a few other things.

Current ProjectName: Ancient Outpost #5 Location: Big South Cape Island Map Location: X Details: One of the oldest bases, established pre-1999. Coded runics don't work there: it's currently all off the grid, running off of cruder but more powerful runesets.
Detailed Tasks: These will vary depending on the base. Bold ones will take the most amount of work to complete. Mists can, of course, focus on any task, and cross-department work is encouraged, if you have the interest. Felicia isn't picky.
Establish portal - life, death Establish safe camp outside base, if necessary - moon, all Clear monsters, if necessary - all Establish perimeter - life, death, sun Activate security/alarm system - death Establish power source(s) - life, moon Establish pendants - life, moon, death Repair base exterior - moon Repair base interior - moon Repair base plumbing - moon Establish radio coverage - life, death Set up cell signal piggybacking - life Set up intranet - life Set up surveillance - life, death

Clyde was not exactly idle, in fact he was working. After the last whatever it was, he had yet more things to repair and clean up than ever before. (During the event he had some how gotten trapped by debris, but the time he got out, he found more broken thing and the light house had blown up. OK then. He just took it as normal for here.) Anyways, he was just clearing debris and whistling as he worked. He looked to be in far too good of a mood to be a guy working.

ClydeIt was the hot guy! From the gym! The hoy guy from the gym who could, apparently, do work with his hands. Felicia sidled up next to some debris, leaning against the precarious tower in a way that was, despite her best attempts, not at all casual."H-heyyyyy," she said, beaming, "h-how would you like t-to pioneer s-some repairs on a b-b-base as old as like, b-basically time itself?" Basically.

Early August 2015
God. There were too many books in here, and okay. She'd given, like. Most of them back. Really! She'd just also checked one of them out, because from the records, Felicia knew that Delacroix had done this whole shebang a favour.
Or like, several favours, considering the ground-breaking work she did. Deus was behind in technology these days, but she'd done her ******** damndest to fix that. That, and a whole bunch of other stuff that seemed pretty cool. Good job, Delacroix. Good job.
As it turned out, even years later, she was doing favours for hunters. Some of her records had lists of viable bases, older ones that hadn't yet been converted to use the more modern stuff that folks use.
Huh.
Well, the good Doctor had totally given Felicia permission to like, do things. What time was there like the present?

Basically"Hey!" Clyde gave Felicia a smile. Did she want something? Oh yes she did. It sounded like work. Work off the island. When had he ever turned down a chance to get off the island? Never that's when. "Basically time itself? Sounds fun. Sure why not?" Clyde liked to keep things simple. Basically.

BasicallyShe pumped her fist eagerly, glad to have captured one soul to do her dirty work for her. "We're g-going from one island...t-to another island! B-but the weather's mild, and it's r-real remote. Like, uh. G-gotta go in and out at m-most once a day, and c-can't pendant out-- yet! W-we're g-gonna...work on that!" Felicia took a moment to flash Clyde the double thumbs in in a move that was meant to be reassuring. "Anyway! I h-head out tomorrow AM. M-meet me at like, s-seven am in the main HQ?"

Planned meetingsPendant out? Like teleport? There were things Clyde still needed to learn about yet. But when he did he would be sure to make use of the Beam me up Scotty joke. It was necessary. "Sounds like a plan to me!" he flashed her a return thumbs up. "I'll set my alarm and bring coffee." Because coffee was important. Yes.

It was early in the morning and Kyle was seated at one of the tables in the cafeteria with his food, nodding off in between every other sip he took of his coffee. Things had been hectic on Deus ever since the incident that separated the Life building into two. While the Sun was more than happy to help by taking on more infirmary duties and tending the injured, it was an entirely different challenge altogether when what separated each patient now was canvas instead of the concrete walls that they used to have.
Picking up his fork, he speared the sausage that was on his plate, taking a bite as he slouched over the table in his current semi-asleep state.
lurks beneath 1 Sun and 1 Mist looking to either establish safe camp outside base or clear monsters =3

"You'll get used to it," Zeke informed the other man as he took a seat opposite him and set his tray on the table between them. "Eventually" The way Kyle was nodding off into his coffee was familiar. He'd had much the same reaction when they'd placed him on twelve hour rotations in the infirmary the first time. That had been quite a while ago now.

It took an entire of five seconds for Kyle to register Zeke's presence, the Sun's actions sluggish as he gave an acknowledging grunt and bobbed his head up and down a few times at the Mist's words. "... you'll think that with the budget that the organisation has, certainly they can afford to invest in better coffee to ensure that we remain productive."
Pausing to take another sip from his cup, he made a disgusted face and slammed the cup down onto the table. "I'm getting my own the next time I get off the island. This just tastes like sewage mixed with ******** rat piss..."

Zeke & KyleWith huge eyes behind huger glasses, almost lost in a huge head of hair, a very manic Felicia approached their table, grinning widely. She took a seat next to them, immediately cupping her chin in her hands, almost bouncing in place. "So y-y-you want to go off island, huh?" she asked, making eye contact for an unnervingly long time. "I have this project and I t-totally need volunteers it'll b-be great!" Felicia had her coat on, at least, to prove she wasn't just some ragtag misfit wandering around on the island. She was just a ragtag Lifer wandering around on the island instead. One with a Plan. baby_gwing TY BOTH I AM SORRY I AM SLOW, work was awful this week! Rise and ShineFelicia hugged the wall sleepily, sipping coffee out of a thermos. At the sight of Clyde, she waved sluggishly. "It is," she moaned, "w-w-w-waayy too early. Ugh." She yawned again, handing the coordinates of the island to the tech. Behind her was a wooden pallet loaded with supplies: a variety of basic runic supplies: lanterns and flashlights, construction tools, band-aids. ...A lot of band-aids. A tent, an icebox-- the list went on. Enough for a day's stay if they had to stay overnight, although she was just planning for the worst. Felicia turned to Clyde, shrugging a little. "There's a uh. Sp-sp-spuh-specific drop site we gotta go to, and they n-needed the coordinates really p-precise and s**t. So we g-gotta get back there at six local time, or we'll have to w-wait till the next day. We're gonna have m-mostly mob clearing to d-do, and p-picking out a good, safe spot a b-bit away from the base."

Wash was no good with bandages or tinctures - so instead he found himself out in the corn fields, salvaging what he could. He had ditched the coat and scarf on an exposed lintel nearby. Autumn was approaching and the island had started to cool, but not fast enough for his tastes. And so, the warm sun beat down on his exposed-
Bright red and stained t-shirt, that proudly read "I love ketchup from my head to matoes".
